I love this garter slip stitch, and I don't think I've seen it before. It's beautiful. I had planned to knit another dishtowel in the rose stitch, but now I'll be using this stitch instead. Since it's a type of garter stitch, the sides of the towel won't curl like they did with the rose stitch towel. Thanks, James.

Hello - If I understand your question, slipping the stitches in back for the 4th row means your slip stitch will only be one row tall, and you'll have a stand of yarn over the front of the slip stitch on the right side for the fourth row. Try it and if you like the look, you'll have a different stitch pattern. Cheers, James
Hello, I agree the stitch is surprisingly simple for the beautiful results you get. I applied it to my Kendall placemats pattern, which is on my website, jamescoxknits.com. And I love the results. Hello there! You're right, if you just knit 2 rows and cast off the finish should look rather nice. So glad you like this pattern. I used it for a pullover sweater and it turned out great. Cheers, James

Thank you for this stitch pattern. It is quite attractive, and to me, more so than the regular garter stitch.

Wonderful and exactly what I was looking for! What if you did the fourth row with yarn in back, as well?

Is it similar to brioche stitch?
Hi Helen, sorry for my slow reply. I don't think of this as brioche. I do find it really simple and fun. Cheers, James
Maybe point out you are slipping pearl wise not knit wise for those who might be visually challenged? 👍😁
