Runaway Train (Movie made in 1985) has a Basis. In October of 1962, Their was a Runaway on the New York Central. Four EMD GP20’s ran away down the line, with a person on board.
What’s so horrifying about how close they are is not just the fact the engineer had a heart attack and failed to cut the throttle, but the engines were all black just like the movie. And personally, I think a runaway train that’s all black is very unnerving.
I love trains my whole life. This film hit home with me as a kid in the late 80's!!! Since then it's just a pleasure to watch it over and over! The 80's serves as a "Runaway Train" - a Great Outbreak from the custody of moderate to poor films, bland and distasteful music, and disparaging politics of the present and past several decades. As an 11 year old a buddy of mine ( the same age ) in 1989 tried to commandeer the lead engine ( SD 40 Mother Engine ) of a 4 unit locomotive consist ( with no manifest attached ) of the Southern & Pacific Railroad. Our endeavor proved unsuccessful after trying to compromise the gear levers in the cab - I engaged the train horn - 4 older engineers in overalls came running from the office and we disembarked from the cab and ran like fugitives. The 80's was the greatest decade ever to experience!!!! Great films, Great Soundtracks, Great Vibes - originality at its finest!
@@inspectorhserfnz0019 lead locomotive can only stop the train all others are "power up" units to give train power and also there were be no free locomotive to stop it
This certain one gives me a feel in that doesn't exsist. And I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imafine if I come put with a video about a runaway CN or something lol!

@@robertchapman2174 yeah I agree
The first few seconds sounds like it was cut from straight out from a horror movie. I like it :D
similar to the opening of the shining movie...
@@jedknutson8373 yep
The soundtrack literally made the movie. Not just the acting, the music added to it entirely.
Exactly.
You are a man who gets it
This sounds like an 'all hope is lost and you are powerless' song

It's a shame how this movie isn't very popular, it really was a great movie.
blame Unstoppable for it
plus Atomic Train is over shadowed by Unstoppable too

It wasn’t from the Southern Railway, the movie take solace in the Alaska Railroad company.
i want to see that happen lmao(but uh you guys WILL stop that train once the whole 1 hour and over 30 minute timer is up, however long the movie is)
as a quad of iced over rustbuckets passes your switch station, a cold, empty feeling fills your stomache.

ok who the other two i promess not to get mad
Never mind we have one more
