Komponist: BASIL POLEDOURIS
Filmkomponist Basil Poledouris (1945-2006) steuerte den Score zu Paul Verhoevens 80er-Jahre-Action-Meilenstein "RoboCop" bei - ein düster-tragisches und treibendes Orchesterwerk - und eine von Poledouris bekanntesten Arbeiten. Das Titelthema des tragischen Helden RoboCop (u.a. in Track 04) hat einen vergleichbaren Wiedererkennungscharakter wie jenes von James Bond oder Indiana Jones.
Für den provokativen Regisseur Verhoeven arbeitete Poledouris zuvor schon an „Flesh & Blood" (1985) und später an „Starship Troopers" (1997).
Für den dritten Teil der kontinuierlich nachlassenden Kino-Reihe „RoboCop" schrieb er auch wieder die Musik - das Beste am ganzen Film...

I find this scene more powerful than Murphy's death. I don't know why, just something about Robo being fired at by people that should be his friends, it's fucking heartbreaking.

Because even though they're supposed to be his friends, they are simply puppets, puppets of OCP, who would do anything to be paid what they, even if that means kill their own families. It's heartbreaking because they're simply whores (no offense to poor prostitutes comparing them to this "people") who want the money they think they deserve.
According to the director, it is supposed to be a metaphor of the flagelation of Christ on to Roman hands, you know, that part where they whip him before the passion. Btw, your videos rock man!!! :D
I agree. He's lost his life and his family and now he's being murdered for a second time.
Sad scene when trying to kill him , but the scene is epic , the music is full of emotion in the scene . The best movie !

this part must have been traumatizing for robocop, already gunned down from criminals for previous memories now has to go through it from his own policeforce!!

The best, you cannot make something as good like these even with all the budget, it doesn´t feel real as Murphy´s suffering...

Plucks at the heart strings every time I watch this scene. :(
I had a different reaction to most people commenting here. I didn't think Murphy was in danger of being killed/destroyed, because it's too early in the film for that to be possible. And his armor would have meant he could survive and we are led to believe that Murphy effectively doesn't have human vulnerabilities anymore. I felt empathy for him, but not fear. What really disturbed me about this scene is the SWAT team being basically Dick Jones'/OCP's private security force. They don't attempt to hold Robocop until his OCP science team can arrive to deal with him properly. If he was malfunctioning that would be the obvious thing to do. They don't try to reason with him, or take him into custody. They just act on the authorisation of Jones. That was what really concerned me, because it's a more realistic fear in the real world.

the scene when hedgecock and his swat team shooting endless rounds at Robocop just made me tear up, I watch as murphy tries to get away, pleading them to stop, I feel mix of anger, sadness and helplessness..
Funny Thing. Hedgecock would go on to have a Larger Villain Role in the 1989 Robocop Cartoon Series.

To dislike this video would be a product violation and objection to Directive 4.
Basil did the themes for Under Siege 2 which Kurtwood Smith starred in himself.
Is 1:19 to the end the same sound track after when Murphy is dreaming about Boddicker and his gang killing him when he was human and then he gets out of the chair opens the cage he is in and defies OCP telling him to stop and goes after Boddicker's gang .
