At last, that great wrong of 1953 when the last 'Saint' was scrapped, has finally been put right. Here we see that first design of Churchward combining the taper boiler, a superheater, belpaire firebox and long travel valves to produce the first modern steam locomtive, and leaving all other British railways playing catchup for the next thirty years .In my humble opinion, the most important loco since Stephenson's 'Rocket'. Well done to all those who have seen this project through.
Always thought Churchward's Saints and Stars had a refined Edwardian elegance about them. Seeing this loco nearly complete only reinforces that in my opinion.
she looks a very impressive engine its a bit of a shame that they are not going to keep the black livery but i think Lady of Legend will look just as impressive in GWR brunswick green.

I have heard story's that these saints could run at speeds well above 100 m.p.h,but we will never know ,superb locomotive lady of legend
She actually looks rather elegant in that glassy black...
Holy crap! Looks great so far! :D
Cheers from the U.S 🇺🇸
Man, is she a beauty. So glad they converted a Hall class (Maindy Hall) to a Saint Class!
My goodness she looks beautiful ❤️. It’s sad that it will not be operational :c love to see it when it’s completed soon.

Looking lovely! I do like the coaling tower too! :-)
Looks great in black! They ought to keep it in the livery at first.

Looks stunning
Excellent, shouldn't be long now before we see it on the mainline (I hope at least!)
I'd love to see this loco on the main line. I've driven a saint on 7 1/4; a long-legged loco that runs beautifully when in it's stride.
Had you put "Woman in Black" in the title and you could've made a reference.
'Lady in Black'
I wonder where I've heard that before..
WOW WELL DONE!
Nice video, shame about the music! 😁 How about the opening theme of Elgar's 1st Symphony. (If you can get around copyright)
Now we just need her alongside Lode Star
The GWR st hall class 😆😆
Te
Butcherd hall with big wheels 😆😆
No worse than the first Hall 'Saint Martin' ,being a butchered Saint with small wheels.
@@davidpatrick8599 the Saint hall class 😆👍
