She does something even better. ignores him, goes back to reading, showing and telling him how unimportant and insignificant his tantrum is. It literally drives him insane... so good.
It's also a nice nod to Diogenes who said the same thing to Alexander the great when promised everything. I think that mightve been what she was reading about lol
that’s the message they were trying to portray & it hits really well. when i first heard of this movie i was worried it was going to fully romanticize the relationship; like it did in the lolita movie 🤢, but thankfully it really just shows bella recognizing those things & learning that they aren’t okay
@sybill123ful that's so spot on. I felt the same way. It was fantastic watching her stick to what SHE wants and immediately discards anyone/anything that harms her. She gets addicted to growing, learning, expanding her world. And every bad character gets what's coming to them. So good!
I love the line, "I know this in me, and I'm sure I'm indicative of all." It's such a widely held sentiment, but few people who think thay way have both the self awareness to recognize it in themselves and the naivety to say it out loud.
Its a false consensus. Most everyone thinks they are the most normal or most average or they take for granted lots of their unique culture, upbringing, peronalaities and just think most people feel and think like them. They think their own opinions is more widespread than it is. To be fair people across the world and across history, with different lifestyles and cultures can be very similar personality wise. So some things still are very widespread. Sometimes we see someone speaking another language or wearing other clothes and we think we have nothing in common or that their daily worries are alien to us. But people share lots of mental things just due to being people, we just take them for granted
@@medranochav what point they are missing? They didn't say anything about the movie, just that they like its colors? There was no point to miss for them.
I'm so sick of people lazily justifying their poor traits of character by stating, "it's just nature for us to be animals...so i can't control what i do." Give me a break. 🙄
I agree that we are all animals BUT we are allowed to choose and change how we are. Because we are actually more intelligent. But we aren't using it correctly in most cases and we are hurting each other when we don't necessarily always have to. We are here to protect and create. And the lesser animals ( cat, dog, bird) can be our teachers as well. Like, we don't need a fucking ww3 or project 2025. Those are selfish controlling monsters. Not animals.
I read the book after i saw this film because i was particularly baffled by this chapter, especially the bit when they go to Athens. I thought the book would elaborate more, but the page about Athens is literally a couple of scribbled illegible words 😂. This film is a remarkable adaptation of the book!
This movie reminded me of Robert Downey Jr’s monologue in “Tropic Thunder” - if you want an Oscar, don’t go full r-word. It held true here, didn’t it? Such a crappy movie but she won the statue.
if somebody threw my book away like that id throw hands immediately
They'd be booking a one way trip to Auf Deci Dove DeBoté 😌

I like as her world starts expanding he’s seen as blocking her path to expanding her horizons it’s entirely giving Lolita vibes.

"You're in my sun." has so many meanings here lol
He'd be flying overboard with those books so quick 😂
right, it’s one thing to INTERPUPT my reading but throwing my books? na uh i’m gonna find my self in prison for murder

It's my favorite line in the whole movie.
The Frankenstein monster was also a very wise but sad and alienated creature
Yesssssss. And treated so differently when made from a beautiful woman
Emma received an Oscar award for her role
I keep seeing shorts about this movie. I dont really watch movies tbh but i do like the colors in this one. That sky looks beautiful
misses the point entirely lol, but yes stunning visuals
it’s great, very eccentric

I agree. Those are also the same ppl who hurt others and refuse to apologize bc they refuse to take responsibility for their actions.

As Emma stone gets older she looks more and more like a stress ball animal who’s head is getting squeezed so her eyes pop out
Weirdo
@@velcro-is-a-rip-off she is a wierdo like some kind of flat person
What a weird comment.
She’s beautiful. You’ve got daddy issues
It has nothing to do with her getting older and everything to do with the way she is SUPPOSED to look during this film
What film is this?
