I just got valve oil on my pants earlier in class today because the fourth valve wasn’t coming out, and when it finally did, it flipped out and splattered old valve oil and condensation all over me LOL
That is an expensive repair! I've played brass instruments for 5+ decades, mostly Trombone. Repairmen are a 'choice breed' for sure. I'm sure that wrinkle has a story behind it!
I’m so excited for my local tuba Christmas. I couldn’t go last year because I got sick, but I made sure to go and watch that night. Also, I’m super excited for Brass Day at a nearby university. Anyone from beginner band to college can go as long as they play brass. I went on my first year of playing. Safe to say I was crying a lot because of how bad I was, but it was a neat experience. I didn’t go last year out of fear from the year before, but I wanna go this year. I feel like I’ve progressed a lot.
I can’t wait for Christmas. I really want to do that tuba Christmas thing, and we also might get to play at the air force base and in a parade :D SOUSAPHONE TIMEEEEEE
Jaka ładna tubistka i jakie podmalowane oko, jestem ciekawy jak ma na imię 😮 ale też jaka ładna tuba i jak się błyszczy, jestem ciekawy jak ma na imię 😊 - bo sam gram na tubie 😅.
Hi I love you all, I will really love to be in connection with you guys over there, am from Africa the Gambia, and am also from a band here in my country
@@MrFlaten92 It is indeed not a _contrabass_ tuba, but it is a tuba. They are all descended from the ophicleide, and share similar bore profiles and characteristics. Much of the orchestral music today played on big tubas was in fact written for instruments in 8 ft C or 9 ft Bb.
The euphonium is just a bass tuba, the instrument that we call tuba is actually a contrabass tuba. There are even higher pitched tubas. This is like saying that a tenor saxophone is not the same as an alto, obviously they are not, but they are both saxophones.
Bro euphoniums are tubas. Tenor range, sure, but before the advent of bass and contrabass tubas in F, Eb, C, and Bb, the Bb euphonium and petit French C tubas were the standard default tubas in many orchestras, especially French, British, and American ones. All these instruments are ultimately descended from serpents and ophicleides, which were typically in 8' C or 9' Bb just like the euphonium.
I really appreciate the music and the talent of the musicians
I love the smell of valve oil in the morning.
When I go into the band hall all I smell is spit and VALVE OIL
I love the smell of hash oil in the morning myself
Gunpowder smells better than valve oil yours might have a scent mine smells like car oil

For people who have queation tuba Christmas is a mixture of euphonium and tubas, the uphoniums are needed for the beautiful melodies
I'm tuba and I was wondering why their were so small
Euphonium is a member of the Tuba family, known as the Tenor Tuba
When you take a class in music and you can choose the instrument 🎷 I believe that the younger you are the more choice to pick up the best one for you
Love what you do.
Played tuba for 5 years and sometimes was the only guy.
Would have loved to play with teammates this way.
Never too late to pick it back up! Im sure you could find a local group in need of a tuba player
I love tuba Christmas every year !!! We get like 50 tubas each year it’s AWESOME !!
This is great! I play bass trombone and have always wanted to play Tuba Christmas.
Is no one going to ask why that girl's bell looks like that?
I was thinking the same thing. Looks very uniform, almost like it was intentionally crimped that way rather than being damaged. Idk

For all the people saying euphonium isn’t tuba. It’s in the tuba family of instruments.
But still an euphonium and not a tuba.
@@MrFlaten92 if it makes you feel better some have been sold under the name of tenor tuba.

Tenor tubas do exist, but euphonium and tenor tubas are different instruments, and the euphonium is part of the saxhorn family
Euphonium is in the tuba family, and calling it a tuba is technically correct. It’s no different than calling any type of saxophone just a saxophone.
Is this in Kansas?
Ekam’ brushing my snow pants off
That bell is cooked
Them are tuba's and euphonium's

Party animals! All of them

Aren't some of those baritones? No hate I'm just asking

TUBA ISNT THE SAME THING AS A EUPHONE BROOOO
Hi! The journo/videographer here. It is not, but the event is still called “Tuba Christmas!”
it's for instruments in the tuba family like euphonium, baritone, sousaphone
The euphonium is just a bass tuba, the instrument that we call tuba is actually a contrabass tuba. There are even higher pitched tubas.

BROOOO BEFORE BIG TUBAS WERE USED IN ORCHESTRAS THE EUPHONIUM WAS THE STANDARD TUBA BROOOO
Where are their faces? 😂
Only 2 tubas the rest euphoniums

The Tenor Tubas were out of tune. They're literally the easiest brass instruments to play😂
