Not all heroes wear capes. Ty patrick
@@LucidBD who says I don't wear a cape?😉
You're a national treasure.
Bought a bottle of Penelope Barrell Strength based on this video, it's batch #7 and must say it is one if the nicest bourbons in the collection. Love your reviews 👍
Our local Costco here near Atlanta had this recently so I picked up a bottle on a whim since I had heard decent things about the standard Penelope. Mine was a different batch, but I THOUROUGHLY have enjoyed it! In fact, I have a tasting with a friend scheduled for this Friday and this is one bottle I'm taking with me. Cheers Matt! Love the channel!
You had me at "PEEN-elope."
Matt: “Buttermilk pancakes”
Say no more, fam. 😆 Keep meaning to snag a bottle of this and this review clinched it. Sounds different and interesting and from a cool company. Great review Matt!
Just tasted this with you. Me and 3 friends. This was a blast and you truly are the WTWT. Thank you.
Sipping on a batch 12 of this and I must say it’s sophisticated and worth every Penny.
Grabbed a bottle from Costco(!) and loved it. Does not have the heat of a barrel strength bourbon (but in a good way). Definitely right up my alley (which is WAY better than the alternative).
I've been wanting to buy this bottle, especially because I have a cat named Penelope! Good to know the WTWT likes it! Now I'll definitely buy it.
Yikes, "time while eyes closed" was off the charts on this one!
Tried this at buddy’s house at poker night. A very pleasant bourbon joy and also won $280, the nicest blend!
I’m not sure how RUclips compensation is employed but I watch all advertisements on your videos hoping you’re compensated to a greater degree than other schlub channels that I just skip adds for.
Thank you Tim!!!
My first couple pours seemed grain heavy. After a couple weeks, WOW! I'm hunting Batch 7.
I recently bought the Batch 6 on a whim and had a similar reaction--favorably impressed and a little surprised by how good it was despite the youth. Very tasty and quite a nice change of pace from its proof brethren (OF 1920, WT Rare Breed, MM FAE-01) every now and then.

Dan!! You are amazing!!!!
I got to try a sample of this courtesy of Thrashzer. In fact, it's in my mouth as I type (since voice-to-text is currently not an option with a mouthful of bourbon)
Matt you definitely need to try their barrel proof private select bottles. I recently purchased the Dads Drinking Bourbon Penelope bottle and it is amazing! I’ve gotten a chance to try a couple other Penelope picks which were also really good.
Great to see an up and coming bourbon company putting out such a quality product. Excellent review as always sir.
I was waiting for matt to say it was like grass stained reeboks. Lmao. Great video
I too was very surprised about this bottle. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
I enjoyed mine. Earlier batch I hit peppered grapefruit! So tasty
IHOP in a bottle.. Whiskey breakfast. Thanks for the recommendation Matt P! Cheers.
When you said caramel it triggered my Google which searched for a camel. So thanks for that, I guess.
Matt killing the long pour. Good review!
Some reason i cannot hit thumbs up. So here you go pal.👍
Thanks Matt! Where is the big lumberjack beard!
Batch #6 was impressive! I just ordered their latest Batch #9 and a Toasted Series from their website. Cheers!
Bottle I had was a touch young but still pretty tasty overall. Definitely impressive for a craft distillery.
Just tried it myself. It's dam good for such a young bourbon. I am a fan. Can't wait until they have some older batches.
Just picked it up! Going to try it later
Just picked up batch 7, looking forward to it.
You nailed that long pour!
Si, great content as always!
"this might be right up your alley and directly up your ass" WTF did he just say? I can't breathe... laughing too hard... I had "regular" Penelope 4 grain bourbon and thought it was just okay, and since I'm a big fan of Cooper's 100 which scored lower than this I might have to drive to non-ABC state to get some barrel strength. Much love to my man Matt...
Nice shirt you frigging Matt!!
Well son of a biscuit.. you can buy it right off their website. Here we go!
I get buttered pancakes off double oaked. I love double oaked. Guess now i need to find a way to get one of these
Dude you are freaking hilarious 😂
I have a bottle and enjoy it quite a bit. Looking forward to checking out the Penelope Architect and Black Label as well.
I’ve been waiting for this review.
this man is wonderful
Hey Matt, do you sell ADHD Whiskey coins and whiskey glasses? If so, can you please direct me to that link? Cheers from 🇨🇦🥃
I've batch five and I've yet to open it... it's a beautiful bottle and a souvenir of sorts because it's from people representing JERSEY baby! I need one to pop because the one I stocked is not giving me flavors.. because it isn't popped..
I know this review was batch #6, but hey, another day, another batch, specifically for fans of Boone County (like Mr Porter himself).
Recently uncorked batch #8 and I'll say this; if you ever wandered what a slightly less full bodied (less caramel/oak heavy) Boone County Wheated could be, this is it. A remarkably balanced finish too. Damn it's delicious! And definitely looking for a backup.
I tried some today and it was good. It tasted like it was very high in corn which would be unusual since they are trying to get 4 different grains in there. I didn't buy any today but maybe I will sometime.
The batch 5 was just a little to young for me. I will have to wait a while before I could pull the trigger again.
Casey, I have Batch#6 and it felt young to me as well. I thought it was decent, but the price seemed a little high $59.99 in Missouri. I've have had more enjoyable and better valued bourbons than this.
I love that shit!
2 bottles on standby.
Wild coincidence! I just popped the cork on my bottle right about the time you posted this. I sat down with my glen cairn and your video was the first one on my RUclips suggestions. Cool to taste it as I watch your thoughts.
I enjoy your videos, keep up the great content!
Love the U.P. callout, Matt. Have you ever been?
I intend to give this a go again, but I wasn't impressed when I tried it. Although I tried it right after a Blood Oath, so maybe my palate was skewed.
I got batch # 7 today !
I love that bottle!!
UP Maple Syrup - only a few of us would get that...
The days of older MGP making it into bottles seem to be gone. It seems most of these sourced MGP bourbons are 4 years or less. Some store picks are 5 ish, but man I miss a couple years ago when you could find older MGP in bottles.
Get yourself a Remus repeal batch V.
P for Porter!
Was ok its on young side for me better than the 90 proof theybhave
Omg…Pena~lope 🤣
Hey I have that shirt
Wooo
7.2 for a just under 4 year ish bottle...
Hope it's better than your last bottle review.
"Lighter fluid coming through..."? 3:40
It’s not in California unfortunately and I like to bourbon 🥃 hunt in person not online lol but someone can gift 🎁 me one 😉🤣
Penal lobe
expecting downvotes but 'Penelope' doesn't fit with my perception of bourbon which is masculine. they should really change the name
Fatherhood is the epitome of strength and masculinity
it named after his daughter in case you didn't hear .really what does the name matter ? As long as what's in the bottle is good i could careless what it's called.
Wow, I don't think I have ever worried about the masculinity of a bottle of Bourbon before. Insecure much?
@@gregmartin1757 I did hear thanks, and have a 6 year old daughter myself and she's my whole world, I was just trying to speak objectively
@@dogsbusiness Since you said it’s “your perception” of bourbon in your OP, that’s literally the definition of subjective. There was nothing objective about what you wrote.
