Yes, I went on a test ride in April. The acceleration will snap your head back with out warning! What a thrill to ride. It still has a little vibration in the handlebars but not to the point of being uncomfortable. It's an awesome machine.
Im coming up to a year of ownership of the 23’ S1000XR w/M package and absolutely obsessed on riding it, the flawless performance at any speed is remarkable and the technology helps make you a better rider. The cherry on top was having it Brentune 2+ = ❤ changed everything!
I have 75000 kms on mine in 3 years, and it still -always- puts a big grin on my face. I must admit i have little to compare it with, as it is my first bike ever.
Yes, I know that grin, it's kinda evil but feels amazing. Getting away with all that torque + control a two legged mammal not spussoped to experience feels truely amazing.
I just finished a ride on my 23 M package. That white color is stunning. 675 miles on the clock now. Off to BMW tomorrow for the first service. Full exhaust going on it shortly as well as the Full Bren tuning treatment.
As an owner of a 2018 one with 20k in 3 months, i agree this is proper fun package, sporty silluette and also chill rides. This is a all in one trip to wonderland. Ready to sell one kidney for a 2020+ one. Love your content, keep it up !!! Top notch color scheme

I own this motorcycle with the M package. There are a few things about it that I don’t love (short windscreen, uncomfortable seat, short side stand) but all of those things are easily fixable. I’m in the US and I don’t love the fueling, but got the bike tuned and now it’s just awesome. This is by far the most enjoyable motorcycle I have ever owned. It is such a good compromise between sport and touring comfort. Love it!
@@forestmotoadventures That seems like a really fun motorcycle but leans too far on the sporty side. I regularly do 7+ hour rides and need a bike that would not put too much pressure on my hands and wrists.
@jmilazzo85 I had a 4 hour test ride on this bike yesterday. Coming from a street triple with an sc project s1 exhaust, the xr did sound tame! What is involved in the stage 2 tune? Does it make a big difference to the sound? This could be my next purchase.
Short story, I traded out my k1600gt for the new Hayabusa, hated it , 3 rides only. Traded it in on 2023 k1600gt sport. I love the 6 cyl so I understand power. No issues ever with my license- ever. Heading to Germany, France, Belgium and Luxemburg on an Edelweiss Tour and yes I ordered a s1000xr for my two week tour. I'm excited to see just how much lighter plus to see if the xr is even a consideration! I'm mid 60's and at some point the M1000XR just may be my next bike. Thank God it has cruise control, that's huge. The race in life is zero to 60, then set the cruise ... that's the secret ... lol

I can't believe that in 2023 BMW is still forcing that wretched navigator cradle on their customers, it should either be a fully integrated connected-ride charging cradle, or nothing at all.
@@aprixay4362 Yes it can be removed, but not particularly easily on most models, as the wiring is tied in with a lot of other lines, and the connector can be buried deep in the bodyvwork. You'll also have to find some way to seal up the connector that is left behind.
Im on my 3rd garmin on my 2022 gsa. Id go bluetooth but the bikes bluetooth is garbage. Ive made do using my sena as my BT hub but its been a constant thorn. Otherwise a perfect bike
Picked mine up in April - with the M package. Amazing bike. I have bought the larger windscreen, but now I am use to the small stock windscreen show in your video. I will keep it on. In the past few days, BMW now took this out of the Adventure category and is now in the Sports category --- check the BMW Configurator.
I got a 23 version and I love mine but it's only biased off the RR engine. The XR shares the same engine with the single R model. The RR engine has different internal components cams, valves, timing, etc.
1:00 unfortunately the TFT-equipped F900R/XR doesn't do this and I'm not sure why, as the code would be nearly the same aside from different setpoints.
It should have R18 infotainment like active criusecontrol, navigation, larger display etc. Especially BMW please for android auto!! Btw, I've noticed wheel imbalance at more than 160kph on a test bike with 3000km, M package...

I have a 22' non M package version and it comes with a taller 2 position windscreen that works pretty well. There are taller after market versions if you're looking for more height. I have the low seat (BMW) installed on mine and honestly it's totally fine. Felt weird at first but once I got used to it I doesn't bother me at all. I've done multiple long distance trips on it.
With this awesome S1kXR, BMW just letting their loyal clients switching their GS and GSA with it. Just like me. i'm going to buy standart XR instead of GSA these days BUT i'm sure, i will be exchanging with brand new GSA next year or maybe sooner :))
I luv the bike but I could not own it, I need my licence & more importantly, I enjoy not being dead :) So, I would have to settle for the 900XR or the Tracer or just keep my RT
I recently got the 2023 M sport/package. Love it so far. The main issue I'm struggling with is wind buffeting. My head shakes so much, i feel like i have some "shaken baby (adult) syndrome! I have tried MRA and Givi windscreens, and neither helped. Went back to the OEM screen. The only thing that seems to work is wearing my jacket with a race hump. Not sure if i just need to cut my head off, or what... I'm only 5' 10"
Change the helmet. Avoid helmets that are modular and have air intake on top. Go for light race helmets. This should significantly reduce the suffering
160bhp christ my 2016 has that 17 on it was 170 a think roughly now made a m model its back to 160 boring am going for somthing else a think 135mph is no enough
I bought a new one in apeil 22 i hated it so after 5 months i traded it for my gsa rallye i am currently on a 2023 xr triple black as my gsa is having her led headlight fitted and yes the xr is still shit
@@EEEBA1 i suppose if you are coming from a rr mate then the issues i found you may find not so apparent i dont like the superbike ergoes at all even to the point i converted my 2005 daytona 955 to a speed triple as for the xr i will explain its top heavy the footpegs are in the way when standing still the bije as little bottom end making take off on steep hill fully loaded 2 up almost impossible. Engine at idle sounds really rough as does rr and the r the bike is kind of aimed at adv but its not designed properly try a gs pal then you will know what i mean. Dont get me wrong gsa is a bit of a tractor but as an adv its in another league
@@austinmatthews347 Good points. I'm not into the ADV world I ride mostly street, canyons and track so GS may not be a good fit. I'm sure it's a great bike.
The seat suuuuks! 😢 you must have a memory foam arse my friend. The bike just brings out you inner looney impossible to behave yourself, So i bought the F900, and the standard seat was bloody awful, had it memory foamed, Bmw put crap standard seat's on so you buy the comfort option.
Wrong kids will not put posters of an XR on their wall....are you crazy? the RR? yes maybe along side of Pinnagale and R1M etc etc but not the funky grandpa looks of an XR even it is quick it just fails the more immature looks scale
Too heavy. Too expensive. Too tall. It's a road bike, why so tall? Way, way, too much electronics. The bloke at the BMW dealer is THE top man. Yamaha have a lot to learn when it comes to dealing with customers. Phukc Yamaha. I prefer the looks of the 900, slimmer. Giggling like a little girl again. That's what most people should pay attention when viewing reviews online. It tells a lot about the bike.

I agree! I do believe you can remove it? I've seen some riders that have put a Quadlock there.

I would buy this bike tomorrow if the seat wasn’t so sculpted and there was some room to move around. I don’t even think a custom RDL could sort it.

i too am a street rider and with that huge 19 inch rim i took a few roundabouts to get dialled in but believe me its a surprising bike @@EEEBA1

I ordered the factory lower version and it is fine (5' 7" guy here)
