- In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view from Chiasso in Switzerland to Milan in Italy in 4K/60 frames per second.
The Milano-Chiasso railway line is an Italian state-owned railway connecting Milan to Como and Chiasso in Switzerland, 51 km of the line.
It is electrified at 3000 volts DC. Between Milan and Monza it has four tracks and is used not only by trains operating to and from Como, but also by freight and passenger trains connecting Milan with Bergamo and Lecco, either directly or routed via Molteno. North of Monza it has two tracks, but between the junction "Bivio Rosales" and Chiasso there is a parallel double track line (used mainly by freight trains) including Monte Olimpino 2 tunnel (7207 m).
The line was opened in 1840.

I want to say that was a vary nice ride and the view of the country side was also great , Thank you for sharing.
@76Spettro Glad you enjoyed it. It is my pleasure.
Great video again. Nice cabview ride in Switzerland and Italy 😊. Thank you for Uploading.
@hamster0815p Many thanks! I appreciate your support. There are more interesting cab rides to come. 🙂
Hello and thank you for the nice trip back to Milano. Bellissima. 👍🏻😊 Kind regards 🙋🏼♂️
@AG-il7hn Our pleasure! Kind regards!
Buongiorno.
Ciao.
@DavideZerillo You are very welcome. Wish you a nice day!
Seguiremos viajando.
@arseniopapell7191 I am glad that you like travelling with a train. I love it. It is a great way of seeing the world. Often you can get a different views. You are welcome to join me again on other journeys.
Wow, thank you for sharing!
@anamarijaj.4162 My pleasure!
Great video overall especially with the overhead contact system voltage change from 15kv AC to 3kv DC at the north portal of the Olimpino 1 tunnel.
@davidbilleci5891 Thanks.
At 15:05 railway junction "BIVIO ROSALES" from Chiasso to Milan old line
@giorgio6608bfc Thank you for the info.
I worked for a few years ( end of '80s) at the construction of the MonteOlimpino 2 Tunnel! Great experience and loads of memories!
@claudio6493 Wow, I can imagine that it must have been very interesting experience.
@@RailRelaxation Yes, indeed I met a lot of hard workers, working hard during 3 shifts ( night and day) Unfortunately we had a few accidents and one colleague died just above the tunnel in Chiasso, the project was founded by the Italian railways ( FS) and the Swiss railways. You will never imagine how hard is to build a tunnel, meter by meter ,day by day.....
@claudio6493 I am sorry for your loss. I know that I can not imagine how hard it is, for me, looking at all those engineering masterpieces, it is unbelievable. And I admire the constructers and all the workers at those huge projects.
Thank you for your service, thanks to people like you we can now travel quickly and in comfort around most of Europe!
@@wyqtor thanks again.... 👍👍👍👍👍
@liviobertoncini Grazie.
@norbertk.1473 I am glad that you enjoy this journey.
Very nice ride, thanks :)
@Emilien-hy3sy Glad you enjoyed it
Is this the direct train starting from Muralto to Milan? For me the "noise" is a charming part of this video; those trains aren't silent giants, there's so much power behind! Always nice to see the old "Reiterstellwerk" before Milan station. You brought memories of heavenly vacations into my room. Thank you so much!
@compujoe I am so happy to hear that. It is always good to remember those good memories.
The Girunos normally come from Zurich and normally end the journey in the station called Milano Centrale. One a day goes to Genova Piazza Principe (without going through Milano Centrale) and on weekends it continues to Sestri Levante without stopping in Genova Brignole (absolute rarity). An example of material used between Muralto (Locarno) and Milano Centrale can be seen when the Giruno (Eurocity train to Milano Centrale) enters Como San Giovanni station. You can see another in transit in the former railway station called Albate Camerlata, now transformed into "Albate movement post". In place of Albate Camerlata, the stop called "Como Camerlata" now works, which also serves the "Ferrovie Nord Milano" line from "Como Lago Nord" to Saronno and Milano Cadorna. Between the tracks of the two lines there is a pedestrian connection but they are not directly interconnected from a railway point of view
@Luigi-uj5ml Thank you for all that information.
At 40:03 line to Milano Porta Garibaldi.
The direct line to Milano Lambrate is at the minute 40:28 on the left.
The line on the right at minute 40:40 is for Torino
@76Spettro Thank you very much for that.
Superb!
@fanelparaschiv5580 Thank you! Cheers!

just a few mistakes: To EAST/SOUTH (MILANO LAMBRATE) is at 38:48 and To PORTA GARIBALDI is at 39:58. Also 25:47 should be "to Bergamo via Carnate" or "to Carnate". To Solaro is the diramation just north of Seregno. Sorry it's kinda my local line
@user-ki6gx1vy8e Sorry for the mistakes. As I don't know the lines well, sometimes can not figure it out completely. And thank you for the corrections, I appreciate it.
@@RailRelaxation also, it's "Sesto San Giovanni", not "Sestro San Giovanni"

Le bruit du vent dans le micro!Infernal!
@christiandirez7288 I am sorry for that . Because of the image quality I film from the outside of the cab and the wind is a big problem. I have changed a few additional microphones already and the result is still not the best. I have been experimenting with the sound and investing a lot in the equipment and now I think I have the solution. There are still quite a few videos where I tried to combine the two microphones, one from inside of the cabin and one from outside...just yesterday I did a test and I think that this time I got it. Again, sorry for that. I know that the wind can be annoying, but it is a trade off with the image quality.
Note the classic FS signals of the permanently luminous type coupled with the new signals (signs) of the European system called ETCS Level 2. This is a very rare case at the moment, at least in Italy. Is anyone aware of such a mingling abroad?
Super Mitfahrt Daumen nach Oben viele Grüße Andy
@bebra47 Thanks Andy
Bellissimo video.
@pierogiuliano8167 Thank you. Will put them on my to-do list.
@@RailRelaxation thanks
I notice that it does not have the round end tables in orange and black segments. Perhaps because it is assimilated to the Pendolino ETR 610 and similar, even though it does not appear, barring an error, in the Signals Regulation, or because it carries out reports to and from abroad like the TiLos, which were exempted from carrying the aforementioned tables? Thanks in advance for the answer
@ponyvetta4253 Yes.

@stefanonealfio8966 Grazie. Welcome.
Nice video
@adamblunsdon7784 Thanks.
@@RailRelaxation your welcome
you should bring a rome/milan or milan/rome video with the frecciarossa
Thank you for this line, for this piece of Italy. Como station should be redeveloped. The dimensions are modest, and the position in which Como is located doesn't help either. If you return to Lombardy the local Trenord railways that connect Milan to the Lakes (Como, Maggiore and others) are very scenic. A video about Milan Lecco Tirano, which passes next to Lake Como, would be nice. Another very scenic line is the diesel-powered Brescia Edolo, which is located in the Valcamonica valley and crosses a beautiful landscape with a UNESCO site of rock paintings. If you have the opportunity to do a cabride it would be very interesting. Thanks for the video which is short but allows you to see the urban density in the Milanese hinterland! it is always a pleasure to arrive under the arches of Milan Central station, which is also a national monument and one of the most beautiful stations in Europe. GOOD BOY! Obliged!!!!!!!!!!!
@wladislaw79 You are very welcome. Thank you for the suggestions. I will definitely look into it.
So nice videos
@pranowobaris94 Thanks.

@televallassina Gracie.
It could be a nice video, but the sound is very bad, so i switch my speaker to position "off"☹
@gerdvomhau4499 Sorry for this. Next one will be better. 😊
The wind sound is quite too load anyway the view is really good
@jakalophoenix4968v I know, sorry for this. Sometimes I just can not use the external microphone. Next video will be better.

@christianesposito4176 Hello. 😊

A tip from me: attach a piece of cotton to the camera's microphone to prevent wind noise.
@norbertk.1473 Thank you for your tip.
Is that a through train from Zurich? Did it used to be Pendolinos on that route?
I am not sure if it goes all the way to Zurich.
Yes it did and it stil does sometimes
;) Wo kommen die Luftgeräusche her?
@hpolig The microphone was on the outside, thats why there is so much wind noise.
@@RailRelaxation Why that?

@pavoid patrickp8883 I am sorry for the wind noise. Sometimes I just can't avoid it.
Please either fit a wind muffler on the microphone, or take it inside the cab! Beautiful video ruined by wind noise!
@MrRockmuso Sorry for the bad sound. I am working on it, but sometimes just can not put the mic in the cabin.
