- Toyota's recent tour of its Teiho plant in Aichi prefecture marked a significant step in the company's pursuit of producing solid-state batteries at scale. The company is gearing up to mass-produce these next-generation batteries, a technology poised to revolutionize the electric vehicle (EV) industry. This development is a testament to Toyota's commitment to staying at the forefront of EV technology. The tour, attended by journalists, analysts, and investors, offered a glimpse into the company's ambitious plans.
While Toyota is making remarkable progress in the realm of solid-state batteries, it's important to note that challenges remain.
Executives at Toyota have openly acknowledged the need for continued improvements in ensuring the quality of battery materials, especially as production scales up. This acknowledgment underscores the complexity of manufacturing solid-state batteries in large quantities, where the precision and consistency of materials are of paramount importance to achieve reliability and safety in EVs.
This tour and Toyota's focus on solid-state batteries are of great significance. Solid-state batteries have the potential to offer higher energy density, faster charging times, and improved safety compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries. The success of Toyota's efforts could impact not only its own EV lineup but also the broader automotive industry as it seeks to transition to cleaner and more advanced energy storage solutions. It's a testament to Toyota's dedication to innovation and its commitment to playing a leading role in the EV revolution.
Toyota's tour of the Teiho plant and their preparations for mass-producing solid-state batteries are indicative of their determination to shape the future of electric mobility. The company's admission of the need for quality improvements highlights the intricate nature of this endeavor. As Toyota continues to make strides in this field, the automotive industry and consumers can anticipate groundbreaking advancements that have the potential to revolutionize the way we power and drive electric vehicles.

Not long ago Toyota Went from "No body wants Evs" to" We have a breakthrough Battery!" I'll Believe it when i see it.
Your skepticism is natural. But I think Toyota's transition reflects the rapidly evolving landscape of the automotive industry, where regulatory pressures and market demand have accelerated the adoption of EVs. Toyota's commitment to solid-state battery technology is substantial, with concrete plans to achieve mass production by 2027-2028, targeting significant improvements in range and charging times. This indicates a serious effort to back up their statements with tangible progress. @@Torquenews 2027-2028 you say. Time is not on their side my man. They better get a move on. And lets see if they can do it without losing their shirt. Even at scale they are not going to be cheap. 4680 style batteries and the like will be greatly improved and a dime a dozen by then. Like i said Believe it when i see it.
They are road test their batteries now. The production will be rolled out in 2027.
Building a factory is one thing ,mass production at scale is so much harder. I’ll believe it when I see it.
That's true

Please provide the battery performance specification and key advantages over typical NMC and LFP cells. 😉
Toyota announced a collaboration with Idemitsu to mass-produce all-solid-state batteries. According to Toyota, an electric vehicle powered by a solid-state battery could achieve an impressive range of 1,200 km (746 miles) and have a quick charging time of just 10 minutes. These batteries hold great potential for revolutionizing EVs.
@@Torquenews Right.... but this is a future promise. How about the present? Right now as I am writing these lines, CATL is producing new batteries that provide over 1000 km of range and take 11 minutes to fully charge. Now, in 2023 not in 2028.
More batteries are good batteries, maybe. Put them in their electric cars and start selling them. The true economics are in the total product, the cars.
I’m not impressed. Let’s wait for the vehicle performance in terms of range, charging speed, acceleration, etc. If it’s anything like bz4x, they will go out of business.
To many maybe, no news
Well, what can I do, that's the news.
Toyota, on another note, says it's being "honest" about the unrealistic future of the electric car....... while in Norway, VW and Hyundai stopped selling ICE cars due to no demand from the market..... Toyota has become a joke and that is a disgrace to its legacy. Also, Toyota has announced Solid state battery super duper news 19823493 times already.... I mean, seriously? Toyota's credibility is history, at this point....
We'll see how many batteries they make and how well they work. That's vaprorware as of now. Toyota has been doing a lot of lying for sure.
