    Sweet, spicy, powdery, dark. Autumn/Winter signature scent worthy.

    I just wanted to say that I love your reviews. It's so great to see a reviewer who is also a perfumer and so can give insight into what has actually gone into the scents you review. I haven't tried all the perfumes you make but have enjoyed the ones I have bought. Thank you for making a difference.

    This was my first foray into PDM...and it spoiled me. They have some great scents, but nothing quite as phenomenal as this. One of the few that I went out and bought a second bottle.
    To me, it's a perfect scent. One of the very few that made me go "oh damn." It has a sort of fullness in my nose that many scents fail to achieve.
    As for the projection, I can smell it from at least arms length for me. I'm sure it goes beyond that. It's a scent that just sticks around.

      @DZ not sure, this is really unusual perfume, but I can understand why a lot of people think Herod is better

    • @tfromthasix1956
      @tfromthasix1956 3 года назад +2

      DZ Herod is great, just performance (atleast my batch) is lackluster, definitely more crowd pleasing then Layton Exclusif though.
      Just got Exclusif today though and my Lord, while it's not something I can find a situation to wear daily it is FANTASTIC

    • @wheretfismutz
      @wheretfismutz Год назад +3

      @@mm-ic1xs comparing herod to layton exclusif is like compating apples with pears. They are both good. Imo herod is too sweet and I get unfortunately a cherry vibe I don't like. Layton exclusif is the best in the line.

    I’ve always said “if this was a crime scene the cadaver would be the fragrance and Arron would be the pathologist” the way he breaks down the fragrance down to the DNA 🧬 down to the molecules and explains it it’s like his preforming an Autopsy. Amazing work Arron.

    I walked into a department store with purchasing a new Tom Ford Ombre Leather as my current one is almost empty. Decided to have a look what else was available and the attendant took me through a bit of a journey with different perfume houses. She picked out Layton Exclusif for me to try. Probably one of the only parfums that really made me smile. It's very much my taste and does not smell like anything I've had before. Bought only the 75mL as she said I would only need 2-3 sprays. I adore this parfum.

    My favorite PdM alongside Herod. I tell everyone that says PdM makes designer style fragrance to try this. I love how this changes also, it's a rollercoaster, does a complete 180 to a smoother creamier scent in the drydown. I don't even like Layton at all really, but the Exclusif is amazing

    Great review my friend! I thought Layton exclusive is amazing also! I think I'm gonna do a 50/50 layer with the regular Layton just to add some playfulness while retaining the depth of Layton exclusive. I just hope they aren't using real civet. Also I just received a decant of oud wood and I was blown away! Never smelled anything like it.

      I have both, they are fairly similar with Exclusif having a bit more heaviness and density to it. If you like the original, you'll probably like the flanker. I would buy a decant of this first because you might not see the value in buying Exclusif if they have the original given the cost of PDM scents.
      For some reason, there seems to be a subset of people that seem absolutely repulsed by this scent. I could only assume they have a nose that picks up on somethings a bit differently because this doesn't come anywhere close to the "bottle of piss in the sun" that some people on Fragrantica compare this to.

      @@rustyshackleford17 Thank you for taking the time to write this reply. I really appreciate it. I hope you are well during this Covid-19 frenzy. What you say is very interesting. Smell is very subjective, varying from sex and person. Exclusif sounds like a proper Niche fragrance that pushes the envelope in a certain direction: out of the safe commercial zone per se. I will definitely try a decant, who knows what group I may fall into. I think I will like it though as I do love deeper, richer scents. Thank you again for your helpful comment. All the best.

      E.R.L 2018 Personally no, I'd put Carlisle as #1 from PDM and Layton Exclusif #2

    Mate, I just found your channel this night and am only watching your reviews from now on.
    Others seem to be grasping for straws in comparison while you kinda just feel it.
    Anyway I have a question.
    I never was much into fragrances, but I noticed when I was a teenager that Bruno Banani Magic Man made me feel different in some way, it effected my mood and composure.
    Difficult to explain, I guess you could say everything felt more smooth and I always felt composed and graceful, warm in the winter and comfortable in the summer in lighter doses.
    Is this the amber or patchouli in it?
    I have no olfactory talent, so I cannot really describe the scent, only the the effect.
    Do you maybe have recommendations for someone who prefers to have a light scent that can be worn year around (adjusting the dose of course) with amber or patchouli?
    Somebody recommended to get some Oud, but I am not certain, since I don't know what it smells like and from what I've heard might be too heavy...

      Id Get Maison Francis Kurkdijan Grand Soir. Thats really classy, Light Longlasting and based around Amber. Perfect for all seasons and every occasion. A perfect signature scent.
