In the 60's I was in my late teens...Beatles were enjoyable but the Stones rocked my blues heart. They still do !
The best two bands of all time. In a world of punk, metal, hip hop, goth, take your pick when people ask my preference I tell them I am a Beatles and Stones guy.

This song is a true rarity. It was the US B-side of "19th Nervous Breakdown" released in Spring of 1966. In Britain the flip was "As Tears Go By" which was released itself as a US single. "Sad Day" didn't become available in Britain until the fall of 1973 on a reissue single and the long out of print Decca reissue album "No Stone Unturned," which I was lucky to find and purchase at that time.

It is the only Jagger/Richards composition that made a B-side single, but was never on any album. Really not all that bad...
Oldie but goodie ... I love how people hate on The Stones ... without the music of today would not be as good! They launched everyone back in the day!
In the Navy, I encountered many haters of the Stones, Beatles, and Beach Boys. I told them without those three bands the music they liked would not exist. They shut up fast.

Like 'The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man'. I have 2 copies of the London 45 RPM because I wore the groves down to white on the first copy. Of course their greatest, 'Satisfaction' , was the 'A' side. Back then most bands 'B' was a throw away. Not so with the STONES !!

Yes, late 1965 or early 1966 at RCA Studios in Hollywood where they recorded most of their mid -60's material in between or while on US tours.
