I know I'm very late to this, but this sounds really good. I'm on the fence between this, rev9 and Borla for my '13 GTI. How's the quality of the exhaust holding up? I've heard rev9 has some quality issues, being cheap, and Borla is more on the expensive side (Edit: I just did some research and they cost around the same). This seems like a good in-between but I'd like your feedback on how it's held up, assuming you still own the car. Edit: do you also have an updated link? The one you have in the description gives a 'page not found' error to me.
Hey there. Yes i still have the car and ive put about 30k miles on it since i uploaded this. Ive had zero issues with it except for a slightly loose exhaust clamp. The price has gone up quite a bit since i bought it just FYI. Heres a new link and ill update the description. store.ngpracing.com/products/awe-tuning-mk6-gti-performance-catback-chrome-silver-round-tips If youre local to Northern Virginia NGP do good work. Another option would be to leave the stock exhaust and get a downpipe and go stage 2 if youre looking for loud. The downpipe is much more restrictive than the exhaust.
@@EpicBr0 thank you for the reply and the updated link. Yeah, I discovered last night the price has gone up a lot. Borla costs less than AWE now by about $100. I don’t want loud, I just want my GTI to be just somewhat louder. Seems like both AWE and Borla hold up well. They sound very similar too so I think it comes down to which brand I’d rather buy from. Unfortunately I cannot find any good cheaper options out there besides these.
superasian97 Theyre made by VLAND. Stock they come with one rear fog light and one reverse light, but you can swap a couple wires and just have two reverse lights and no fog lights
isaac martinez Wastegate rattle. TheHumbleMechanic did a good video on it. Heres the part that is supposed to fix it. www.fcpeuro.com/products/vw-wastegate-anti-rattle-clip-genuine-vw-06j145220a I installed it about a month after this video.
Is it loud enough though? I don’t want something that’s gonna piss people off but also don’t wanna buy something for $600 that is gonna sound like stock
Thanks for the video, there arent thay many with stock downpipes.. so this helped a lot 👍
TinyMiniStealth Yeah I noticed that too. This was also before the exhaust breaks in. So its ever so slightly louder now

Awesome video! I was thinking about this exhaust as well. Is it much louder inside comparing to the stock?
Which rear lights are these I noticed many models have one reverse light and one for light. Yours has two reverse lights each side.

@@EpicBr0 thanks so much man! Much appreciated 👍 definitely getting these
Euro spec tail lights.
When ever you revved it that little clinking noice, what is it? I have the same noice on my gti.

are you tuned ?
Brian Fraser nope
Any drone at highway speeds? With the sock dp.
Nope
Are those the VLands in Dark Cherry?
Yup
@@EpicBr0 i like em. I might be getting a mk6 in the same color so seeing what they look like on a car is encouraging
@@evanburt2766 yeah they look good. Kinda a pain to install but ive had them for over a year without any issues.
@@EpicBr0 you just pull apart the paneling right.
Any drone with it?
Jarrett Cina nope
EpicBro is it still pretty loud? Looking between this and the borla s type catback
Jarrett Cina no its very live-able. Things dont start to get super loud until you remove the cats.
EpicBro cool good to hear. I want something not obnoxious but decently loud when I want it to be

That shit rattttlesssssss thanks for the video but ik what exhaust im not looking at… not that it sounds bad either but what is that rasp…
The rattle isn't from the exhaust. It's from the wastegate on the turbo. And the rasp is only from my microphone. No rasp IRL.
