There is poor statistical reasoning at the beginning. Those studies were associative and so some other factor could be leading to higher performance and more diversity or it could be reverse causation. The simplistic way to put this is: B > A; C > A and B.
Maybe the purpose of this is to encourage those ethnic groups to apply more (letting them know that they are welcome) and employers to consider hiring them more until there's a decent employment percentage in the corporate sector (how many of total ethnic minorities work in corporate). I'll probably get a public stoning for this, but if an employee comes to work dressed like the lady in the thumbnail, I'd tell her (or him, for that matter) to dress in a more professional manner. Never mind gender, race, religion etc.
For what reason?
She’s wearing a simple black top or dress the only thing could possibly be the earrings?
define professional
Yeah, but this hypothetical person probably works in a different industry to you, or the company has a different dress code
Diversity is important, but skills and experience is much more important in my opinion. Diversity comes next.
Diversity of thought is important, diversity of skin colour, gender, height or weight, is not
@@nh41 diversity of thought can come from being raised in different backgrounds though
I kind of agree. Education system promotes white and rich. When forcing diversity in business you'll end up with top 5% white management and "the colorful workforce". This is asking for dysfunctions and stress.
Diverse companies perform better ? On paper perhaps. Wishful thinking doesnt make something true.
There is poor statistical reasoning at the beginning. Those studies were associative and so some other factor could be leading to higher performance and more diversity or it could be reverse causation. The simplistic way to put this is: B > A; C > A and B.
Ah the Woke moment of the day ... so politicaly correct and hypocrite ...
Maybe the purpose of this is to encourage those ethnic groups to apply more (letting them know that they are welcome) and employers to consider hiring them more until there's a decent employment percentage in the corporate sector (how many of total ethnic minorities work in corporate). How else can you tackle this problem? Is it harder to find corporate jobs for whites in US even if they push diversity etc.? Or are all the comments just triggered by the sole principle of the idea?
Equitable means just hiring more black people. Less based on Merit like Asians.
Speaking about diversity the person who made this is definitely black and I can hear her voice definitely take credit for making an amazing video by doing what they do at vox and say hello at the end
That's great feedback, thank you - Sojourner is the best. While she isn't at the end of the video, I do know that there is an extended interview featuring Emmanuel and Accenture North America CEO Jimmy Etheredge that Sojourner moderates coming to our members only feed.

There's equality in Cuba and they're hiring !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No. This one is truly a poor video with everything went bad: biased “facts” selection, pointless “conclusions” and useless “advises”.
This is like "Children of the Atom" where they hire diverse writers and write "tiktoker", "mutant subreddit", and his grandfather inhaling "internet gas"
The problem is the inequality between countries. Without that, less people would migrate and the few ones migrating would do it for the experience instead of the money and would be treated differently. Fear of the unknown turns into hate to foreigners.
What a rubbish. Not a first from this author.
What a load of BS. The race hustling industry is thriving. "When is the last time you sat and had a conversation with a group of black peole?" Are we all supposed to go find groups of people of different races and join their conversations 🤔
Nope. This one doesn't have the appeal of your regular content. Looks like a pitch.
Looks like a pitch...because it is.
The woman who wrote the article in Scientific American was a business ethics professor who never really ran a successfull company let alone preach on Diversity without leading an entire society. If I wanted lessons on diversity I'd just read up on Lee Kuan Yew.
What we really need to talk about is who keeps taking people's lunches. My money is on Kevin.
Mine is on Michael Bloomberg
I thought this would be about small talk, but maybe people don't find them as uncomfortable as I do.
EQUITY IS ANOTHER WORD FOR AUTHORITATIVE COMMUNISM
Look at how much thumbs down. The only thing that reliefs me is that this anti diversity discuss have no space in the main stream/academia, simply because it's wrong. Only ignorant small minded people believe in it, that's why you will never see companies like Bloomberg and Google replicating this discuss.
This is hypocritical considering businesses are trying to segregate unvaccinated people.
Diversity in companies make them perform better. Just look at Chinese and Japanese companies.. oh wait..
Someone should tell Chinese companies that they need to diversify
Blacks trying to grift off from asians and indians being hard working, thats what this video is about
So we are fighting to make work equitable and inclusive and equal and fair. But never mention the fact that the capital created by labor itself is unfairly distributed. You can’t expect an deeply unfairness to be fair and progressive. Seems to me to be woke is only woken on gender and race by not issues of class and income. What about unions.
2:55 "They need to have their employees become comfortable being uncomfortable".
Finally video worth sharing
Unity in Diversity
This is a useless debate
What a poorly-researched grift.
consultants from diverse settings can perhaps provide insights that are unique to their area of expertise. As to the question of white men being at the top of everything, they built it it stands to reason they'd be at the top of it, if you have a problem with that instead of race grifting build your own, if you cant.
shut up.
The only reason diversity i the US makes sense is because the low fertility rate or the whites, they aremt having enough children to man the workforce so companies have to turn else where. You want to see the effect of "diversity" ? Look at every nation on earth that is actually diverse I am talking no dominant majority your entire arguement will fall apart, diversity is an added liability and should only be resorted to if you absolutely cannot avoid it.
Wouldn't the best "entities" to change the situation be Federal and State governments? With equal access to education from primary school to University, regardless of background, population or gender, companies could hire on merit. With everybody equally educated offices would automatically become divers.
Also this video seems to lump to problems into one: hiring divers stuff with racism/bigotry/sexism in the office.
One of the Most Pragmatic Comment ... Agreed with you Bro
The answer is *NEVER* more government! 🤦♂️
@@citizenfour9622 As a european social democrat/libertarian I of course disagree. But! Even if you want to be very Republican about this, no new government is needed. You already have schools; primary, secondary, highschools.
All you have to do is take let's say $10B from the $715B militray budget and allocate it to the education department.
@@philip7468 What is this “Republican” label? Once again, the people making the most noise about labels are the first to force them on others to suit their weak arguments based on assumptions and stereotypes. Weak! 🙄
@@citizenfour9622 Ok I see you just trolling, that's cool.
Thanks but no thanks. Unsubscribed
9:36 the pinnacle of this video. This point is very, very, important.
?????
Westerners :D
Great video.
Such an important topic, this is an excellent video, thank you! Also, LOL at the use of Mac in the presentation with the Windows error sound. Talk about inclusion! 😁
A lot of conservatives here I see...
Isn't that beautiful to see so many people maintaining the greatness passed on by their ancestors ?
Or maybe a lot of Latinos? Using the invented label of “Latinx” @5:56 goes *contrary* to what Emanuel speaks of at 4:24! I’ve yet to meet one person of Hispanic origin that wants to be labeled as “Latinx”, yet the Left keeps forcing the label on them! 🙄
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....zzzzzzzz Snooze fest report.
