That batch renaming at 7:00 absolutely blew my mind! THIS along with your part 1 video have taught me so much in 20 minutes about this machine - more than I could learn in the same amount of time talking with someone about it! Thank you for these.
Old time windows user & retired developer. Just added a new MacBook Air to my collection of devices: PC, iPad, iPhone. Found lots of beginner vids, but yours was the best. Great work.
I'm switching in 2 weeks because of my new job, never used any apple product before as I've always been an android/windows girl and this is concise and well presented, thank you.
Nah dude. They look sleek and elegant, but Apple doesn't have a great reputation for building high quality machines. Just look at all the many engineering failures they've had over the years. Watch Louis Rossmann's "The horrible truth about Apple's repeated engineering failures". I get that Apple computers look awesome and generally work well. But you can't deny the fact that they are not a great, benevolent company. They do a lot of shady stuff in the name of "Think Different".
3:43 Why are these shortcuts are too loonnng? in windows i can just ctrl+alt+v with ONE HAND. I can't do this 3:43 with ONE hand. It's so bad. Do you know anything to change it to Command+Opt+V instead?
@@user-lj4fk1rx9y Its been 5 months since i got the m3 max and i didnt even had to use this shortcut from once. because there is a app named pure paste and it solved all of the problems
@@johnworkman2743 I hesitate long time and watched many video. Finally, as I’m graphic designer and doing mostly photo editing and video making , i have chosen the mac mini M2 Pro. Actually I search a usb-c + thunderbird docking station ( to plug many 2.5 SSD drives ) . I think 16 Go of unified memory is ok. Other M2 ( ultra and max ) are super cool but the price is insane !
I don't know whether people have same opinion about this like mine. File convert is extremelyyyyyyyy efficient on mac. I always convert my RAW images to JPG only in my Mac. The quality is damn awesome, i totally skip using the native image converter from Sony. not only image conversion, also the size optimiser. It saves a lot of time & money (batch conversion in many softwares are behind the paywall).
@@johnworkman2743 Im no expert but I've seen a lot of videos and reviews about it doing things like photoshop and it seems to breeze through it. For example I have the base 256gb model with a 1tb ssd and I paid £600. I game, emulate ps3,ps2, steam and I have GarageBand and do music editing with multiple tabs open and apps running in the background including streaming 4k videos and it's all operating in the blink of an eye. Im actually glad I saved the money and didn't get the 16gb model and more storage as for the things I named it runs like a dream, and that's not even mentioning all the other things I have running. Although getting a 2050mbs write speed ssd for storage seems to have made my Mac mini run even faster Idk how but I would defo recommend. The only thing you may want to check is the memory you may need to do what you do? But Ive heard for amateur stuff its more then enough and then some. Also I will mention my nephew has a £1500 gaming laptop and he could not believe how quick and responsive my Mac mini is compared to his more expensive laptop, it even has better emulation results then his gaming laptop so its a very capable machine.
Awesome video, very helpful, just one point the keyboard text replacement did not work in outlook - compose new email. Worked on mac OS apps from Apple…..
Love that magnify feature. And the screenshot. Been using Snagit for years. Can you do a video on using the Mac mini as a server/Nas? I need to learn about setting up a direct access storage as a raid and share it on a network.
Id there a Playlist please? I'm trying to find a way to put my music on a USB stick without crap Mac adding loads of blanks/run anything other than MP4/have a Close button, etc, etc
Great videos! I have a question for you, I usually use Option+Command+4 to copy a part of the screen, before I used to paste it into an email and it was fine, however now when pasted, it is too small for the other person to read… what am I doing wrong?
Once again, I'm convinced of how awkward and clunky keyboard shortcuts are in macOS. Where in another OS you have to press one key, in macOS you have to press two or three keys. And sometimes it even comes to "chords" of four keys. It's ridiculous. I use a lot of Apple mobile products: iPhone, iPad, Watch, AirPods. And I've tried many times to like Macs and macOS, but I can't.
What? Most shortcuts on Windows are ALSO 2 keys. Ctrl+something else. If the point of your comment was to prove that you don't know how to use macOS or that you're an idiot, you've undoubtedly accomplished both.
@@ArthropodSpidey In the video you were shown how many keys you need to press to make a banal screenshot, while for Windows there is a separate button for that. How do you do Backspace in macOS? You press two keys. How do you do the Home/End functions or PageUp/PageDown? You press two keys. And there are tons of examples like that. So sometimes it's better to say nothing than to look like a laughingstock.
You don't. iTunes on Mac has been discontinued for several years. The functionality of iTunes has been integrated into both the built-in Music App and Finder when you have an iDevice plugged in.
Thank you so much for this excellent guide! I just missed some information that I couldn't find online, and it's kind of a big deal for me to decide whether to switch from Windows to Mac: Is there any clipboard history on Mac as there is on Windows, which we activate by pressing windows + v? I'd really like to have this option on Mac as well... Any solution?

Macs come with Pages (equivalent to MS Word), but you can also install MS Word on Mac.
