  • Join myself (Keenan) and Ashley on a trip along the cost of Lake Superior Provincial Park. We start the trip of in the south end of the park at and work our way north towards Wawa. This is a stunning lake with huge cliffs, big rolling waves, ancient pictographs and amazing campsites. Lake Superior certainly lives up to its name and is a must do for people that enjoy a big water challenge.

    Well said on the stunning views, beautiful. I like how you arranged your fire and camera backdrop of the water on your last spot, such amazing scenery. And fine knife work on your catch, looked great. It was funny to watch Lou chase out the scraps you tossed out. What a special dog she is, sure does love the outdoors, just like her dad. Thanks for taking us along my friend. Enjoyed it very much.

    After watching Jon’s video on Lake Superior and how dangerous and deadly the frigid waters are I worried about y’all not wearing dry suits while you were out on the lake.

    • @CanoeTheNorth
      @CanoeTheNorth  Год назад

      It certainly is frigid. Dry suits are nice for sure but I wouldn’t say they are necessary for any lake really. We are easy going on those trips and if it’s windy or wavy at all we wait on shore for the weather to improve. Safety on that big lake is paramount for sure.

      Well if you have enough time I would go from Agawa Bay all the way to wawa or even further if you wanted. There really is no bad place to start. It’s all really beautiful. If you only had a day you could put in closer to the pictographs to see them up close or I think you can put in near gargantua as well which is very beautiful.

      Hi, we started in Agawa Bay and left our vehicle there. We stopped at Naturally Superior adventures, who shuttled us back to get our vehicle. We then drove back to Naturally Superior Adventures, and left the vehicle there when we paddled up to the Dog River and back. I can’t remember the cost. I recommend checking out Naturally Superior Adventures for pricing. Hope that helps

    • @CanoeTheNorth
      @CanoeTheNorth  3 года назад

      Thanks for the nice comment Grant. I don't have a good reason why I switched there. That carbon paddle is so so light but its a bent shaft and although I love how light it is I always like the way a straight shaft paddle performs so I always tend to go back to the classic!

      @CanoeTheNorth  3 года назад

      @@granthaller9544 Hi Grant. I think I will post a video of bent vs straight paddles in the next couple of weeks. If you're interested stay tuned. As far as durability of carbon paddles so far I've had nothing but good experiences and no major damage over thousands of kms paddled with them. We have taken some good chunks out on some really hard rock contact but it can also be repaired. We do try hard to watch where we are using them though (rocky shallow sections). Maybe this helps a little. Feel free to msg us if you want any more info. Thanks again Grant.
