Leave some concrete for Trent
Lol yes, we need some hangar build videos!
And give Trent the name of a really good appellate lawyer. He is gonna need one.
@@PORSCHE_COUNTRY. He still has his license, but only because he is still going through the process. He just lost his final agency appeal. The NTSB judge not only upheld the FAA ruling, he extended the suspension from 60 days to 120 days. Now Trent and his lawyer are going to the actual legal system to try and get the ruling overturned. He put a video out last week and the AOPA also put out a video.
@@PORSCHE_COUNTRY. he never lost them.
If every backcountry pilot isn’t sending Trent money for his attorney fees. He should just take the suspension! And let the presidencies stand. And everyone else can deal with it from their. There coming to an off airport near you.
Im voting for a fandom version of SA-2 Samson. With a fuel bottle/container source. Designers should dream of mars too ! 😊
Now we know why Trent can't get any concrete. LOL Cheers from Winnipeg.
Ready mix drivers all over Utah are breathing a sigh of relief! But they have some great stories to tell!
You are a mad man. LOL. I bet 100 engineers said this could not be done. Mike is always pushing the limits no matter what he does. Someone that works this hard deserves mega fruits of his labor. I hope when he is done he tells us the appraised value at least. Even if he don't tell what he spent. 900 yards of concrete. How many feet of rebar would blow us all away. I am certain he has over engineered the concrete and rebar by a bunch for good reasons. Awesome to see!
Someone upped their video editing game with some useful and fun animations and highlights!
The neighbours must be very understanding.
At 15:45 you hear a big, loud cry around the world: NOOOOOO. The video can't be that short. I need, I demand! ;-) more Mike Patey and more video.
This is so awesome. Every detail is taken care of. You are amazing.
And the concrete work is amazing too. Your guys are doing a great job. Congratulations.
So this is why Trent can't pour his hanger floor.😳
Mike Patey for President
And all I did today was to level some raised and sunken driveway and walkway pavers…
Amazing stuff as always, Mike!
It’s almost like mikes days are twice as long as mine
I wanna see some airplanes, Mike. But I do love seeing the house.
I’m always impressed with your crew and also getting your hands dirty
While I can safely say all the houses I did that I'd call my "signature" jobs were rather stressful, I hope the contractors are enjoying getting to show off their work to their familes and friends through your videos.
All the crews involved will have bragging rights for years on Mike's unique project, for sure.
That view is absolutely breathtaking
Your house and pool are awesome. The thing I really like, is you scuba dive the year around.😊😊😊
Paul Briles, when he built his home in Torrance back in the 80's his total placement of Concrete was around 5000 yards. I think the house was around 30K sq feet including the underground garage which would accommodate 30 cars. It took him over 5 year to build.
Sadly, Paul passed soon after his home was completed. Paul owned Briles Helicopter in Burbank or Van Nuys.
Mike casually mentioning he was up until 4am nursing concrete and back awake at 7. 😮
I don’t know how you do that man. If I did that more than once a year I would literally be dead I think!
I was watching a construction video the other day where the pour let loose and the concrete went everywhere! And I thought . . . not on Mile Patey's watch; nope, not gonna happen! 😀
It doesn't matter what you engineer and build - it's just fascinating! Thanks for sharing!
It’s easy when you got money
So glad Cleetus told us your Channel it is beyond interesting everything is incredible
Mike, let me know when I should reserve the date for the housewarming party. I’ll bring the swim trunks and diving goggles! 😂🎉
This has got to be one of the most impressive builds in the United States.
My son is 17 and his goal is to go to McGill University in Quebec, Canada for mechanical engineering. Thanks for the real life inspiration that he sees in your projects. It motivates him to get back to work!!
I love your whole family Mike. Be safe. When I watched you fixing up the Red Bull Carbon Cub, I was relieved that YOU weren't going to fly it!! You could have done it, but I'm just glad someone else did it. Be safe always. We need you for many many more years! God bless.
Good morning from Minnesota!! Great episode!! Back to work!
I can't even BEGIN to try to explain how AMAZING you and Mark are!! Love you all! Keep up the great videos.
As an Aussie it's wild to me that you're having to do all this to keep the concrete warm 😂 we usually have to hose it off to stop it getting too hot 😂
Mike, how about adding a concrete plant to your fleet of businesses? "Best Concrete Products" 😅
That’s my buddy Ken Barney, we raced stand up JetSkis for many years! Two of the nicest guys in Utah right there ❤️
He is building a TIME BOMB!
You're something else! An alien.
Blimey - thought Mike had had a stroke or something for a minute there - then realised I had playback speed set to 50%! Properly back to work now!
9:25 Tactical retreat, very smooth. :)
you inspire me to do better with my life , THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perfection personified.👍
*Essential craftsman shows us his cracks after a concrete pour. We wants the same! Thanks a bunch.* 🤣😆😛🕺
There are no words....sheeeeeesh...!❤
You know every man who worked on this is going to be telling stories about this epic pour for the rest of their lives. Wish I could be there!
Just to be a part of this colossal build would be something you'd tell your kids about. So over the top!
Your energy and focus is inspirational Mike. Can’t talk now, gotta get back to work!
Wild you should do a live stream sometime people would love it
I just KNOW, Mike, you were in on the building of the pyramids in Egypt!
Always impressive!
A modern day stealthy Castle….😎
I just want to pour a small concrete drive way and I watch this impressive masterpiece wondering just how easy they make it look.
I belive Mike gets more done in one day than i can do in a week. Mega organizer. Bravo sir.
Years lol
This house should be converted to a museum of engineering one day.
You're a gawdang genius Mike haha
Just blown away at the scale of this Mike. Where's the helipad going???😉
I don't know why, but I find it hilarious this is being built in just a typical neighborhood. How would you like to be Mike Patey's next door neightbor.
As a resident of New York State, I thank you for the warmer weather.
Wow! That place is going to be amazing
loving the house content… keep it coming!! But whens the next airplane build video 😂😂
Crazy how you do heating. First time i see heating tubes inside load bearing concrete with rebar. Normaly in Europe you finish whole load side of building lay some foil with styro 1-2' and build heating On special plastic trays, than you pour concrete on this only about 1/2 inch above those pipes. With small amount of concrete heating is very fast and efficient.
This video is just crazy.
Some of the "common mistakes" you've shared are mistakes I definitely would have made had I not watched your video. I *always* learn something when I watch your videos. Thanks for not only being a great teacher, but also a great ambassador for aviation.
Mikes on another level, it’s crazy.
@@F1v30h1 I'm starting to believe aliens are real. :)
900 (yards) seems a magic number this year, 900 inches of snow total at Alta too.
The way the flooding is going with the fast melting snow-pack with abnormally high, 900 inches of snow isn't so magical now.
The progress on this pour - I mean pool is really progressing. Keep the videos coming, Mike. Thanks for the extra work you do so we can share in your present dream project.
Mike’s checking the temperature of his concrete more times than my wife checks the temperature of my kids when they’re sick at night.
Great to see you again you disappeared off tube for about a year.
Top knotch Mr Mike 🤘🏽
Amayzing build, I'll bet the neighbors love you. However, while I couldn't begin to imagine living in that cold, your scenery is beautiful.
this is fascinating to me because (this was decades ago... mid 90s) I was talking to contractors who were pouring cement for an overpass in single-digit/teen-digit weather. I asked why they did that because the water in the cement would freeze - they said that they put additives into the cement so that it wouldn't. Not just that, but they commented it was worse to pour cement in the summer because the top would dry too fast.... oh how technology has changed... and how it fascinates me to see what we knew become what we never do anymore.
Lookin AWESOME!
That’s a work of beauty
This is massive, but well engineered
really looking forward to seeing what you do with renewable energy on this project, solar, batteries, heat pumps etc.
Mike, I hope you have a big pool party for all your RUclipsrs when your done. Caaaaannnnnnnooonnnballlllllll!!
GREAT VIDEO !
Save some concrete for Trent. He's got a hanger to build! 😆
I love the pride and excitement in which you say back to work. It's inspiring
Holy Crap Batman.
This is impressive. Thank you for taking the time to document your work. My compliments on the quality of the videos and the editing. In a future video would you be willing to discuss how you selected the vendors / workers to build this crazy project? I imagine you don't just hire any random bubba looking for work in the Home Depot parking lot.
Wow, this is legit amazing build
Thanks for sharing, Mike
Can’t wait to see a tour of the finished concrete
All of his builds are Amazing… A true American Inspiration.
Dude, you are freaking Awesome! I am sure your family could not be more proud of who you are and what you are capable of accomplishing. Two thumbs up!
Have you thought about using fiberglass rebar? No rust or spalling issues
Just... wow!
Awesome. Excited to see the next upload!
This is a modern marvel of engineering...... Out of all the things I've ever done or seen or people I've ever met I think you are the most interesting person I have ever seen. In my opinion you are up there in the Elon musk category. And I am just recently finding out about you and all your accomplishments I have been watching cleetus McFarland Dave Sparks all them dudes for years and never dawned on me that all their aircraft use your best tugs products😮 and from the local RC field I learned about the Draco bush plane. I was so fascinated by it I just had to look up the guy who built it and this is when I came across Mike and Mark 😮😮😮😮😮, I guess all the good fellas are in Utah....lol.... Anyway this new house built is so unique I'm surprised you're not on Discovery or some kind of cable channel because what you have there is a modern marvel of engineering 👍👍👍👍
Looks amazing.
Mike always seems to handle a huge project with knowledge, and precision 👍
This is a great build, seeing the lack of safety is crazy though. I’m used to construction in Australia where this site would be shut down straight away ahah
This is the most crazy home pool I've seen! Crazy but amazing!
Great video. Yu going to love the hydronic heating. I have it on every flor in my house. So nice to walk on the floors with bare feet, and it is super quiet. Plan on putting ice melt driveway this year with stamped concrete.. i am on the Illinois Wisconsin border so i don't think we get the snow you do. Six inches is a blizzard lol.
Best cold weather concrete plan I have ever seen
Mike! I got carried away with your super practical engineering so I wrote this - can you make a super light scrappy turbine and just jump it off the ground and then just dump it back on the ground using that awesome suspension - zero take off, zero landing - unbeatable. Can it be done?
Looks amazing!!
Contractor- “so what’s your budget?” Mike “No budgets.” 😂
Such an incredible piece of art and engineering deserves to be placed in a more striking natural setting.
Surprised this sub div allows this. What happens in Utah...
@@WilliamFiler ...stays in Utah?
i think you missed some earlier videos
@@tannermarriott8903 I did.
Hi Mike. Will you be installing a home fire sprinkler system to protect your huge investment? That would be some holistic engineering!
The concrete work is absolutely beautiful. They did you a wonderful job.
Amazing.
What a transformation seeing the deck poured. I feel like the next videos are going to move through so many things quickly. Going to be so awesome, I can't wait to see more progress!
Amazing project! On a serious note, how have you been able to get your neighbours on-side. Your new home looks substantially larger and totally different in design compared to your neighbour’s homes. Perhaps a short on this subject? Back to retirement!
I suspect that some or most/all of the neighbors are his close family, one big family compound; I could be wrong.
24/365 access pass to the pool
He promised to land scrappy on the raised pool deck when it's all done.
I was thinking the same thing. When I built my house (much smaller & much simpler), I made a concerted effort to have the neighbors stay happy. It was an eye-opening experience -to my face, they were happy & "my friend". Meanwhile I would hear from the building dept. & the inspector about the complaining from the neighbors. I was complying with all the building codes & local ordinances (hell, I even had to comply with the California Coastal Commission) as they kept trying to stop the project. They didn't.
That’s incredible how it held temp
Absolutely gorgeous! And the production quality is top notch!!!
🤯 again, as always.
that view 🤩🤩🤩
BTW This is great stuff, but I missed the airplane builds, so I watched the Scrappy build series a second time!! Oh, and I really miss Draco.☹
Draco X is conspicuous by its absence. We know it was started. We know there is a development contract for the military. I suspect 2 have been built ( there were 2 Wilgas purchased, a white one and a green one ) . Presumably one for military testing and one for Mike. One can only speculate on the non disclosure rules around developing a prototype for the military
