When I was in Middle school we went to the Mall of America. I personally don't like roller coasters but there was this one ride that is kinda like a haunted house, but you had to shoot ghosts and stuff. I went on it over and over again and i really never shot any ghosts but just enjoyed the ride its self. I thought of that ride as soon as i read that and I think it would work out perfectly! I'm sure there are haunted house rides though.

The second the HBO intro cleared and it revealed this theme I was gone. The first time I watched the intro I was overall okay until the jump scare at the end, which to a 8 year old who wasn't used to the horror genre freaked me the hell out.

I think part of the reason this intro works so well is that it's like an intrusive thought gone absolutely wild. That little part of you, when you see a creepy old, desiccated, obviously haunted house, that kind of wants to go up to the fence. To go up to the door. In through the door. Deeper into the house, around the corner where you can't see the exit anymore, and down the stairs... It's that realization that there are a million freaky looking houses in the world, and the thought of what could be hiding in the basement.
This intro always scared the shit out of me. It always came on after Spawn and I'd just sit there scared yet mesmerized by imagery. Not to mention Pee-Wee's Big Adventure with Large Marge...that one fucking freaked me out so bad.

My older brother (7) would put this on for me (3) just to freak me out. He would crank the volume up as loud as possible and hide the remote so that it couldn’t be quieter unless you got up to the tv (which I was not going to do). I still remember crying so much in the middle of the night just from hearing the intro song 🤣 Poor me!!
I remember my grandpa watching this when I was a kid. Scared me so much. The Crypt keepers laugh is burned in my memory.
