The more information and communication about how to transition that those who live in Singapore can get the better and I am really glad to see how Singapore is moving ahead. I hope Singapore will be 100% before 2030.
Thanks for the video daren ! These past few days tsla been corrected almost 12 percents. What's your view on tesla competition in future? As other manufacturer is coming into ev industry as well. Will you keep your long term view on tsla to $3000 dollars
Hey David. I bought an additional 50 TSLA stock at $1,050 during this week’s dip. To me, Tesla’s main challenge isn’t the competition but supply constraints and potential regulatory risk (mainly from China). No other car company makes EVs at the same volumes at Tesla, and Tesla’s EV production capacity is expanding faster than the competition.
@@DarenYoong thanks for the reply. I was too fast buy additional tesla stock when it went down. I bought at 1090 haha. Anyway thanks for the feedback ,really appreciate it. And hopefully someday we can meet up. As i stay in Singapore as well
When I first visited SG in 2017 I was surprised to not see any Teslas in such a rich country. Back then SG government said (if I recall correctly): „No thank you, we do not believe in individual transport“. My question: What made them change their mind? How exactly did they adapt legislation when it comes to Tesla/EVs recently?
Hey Andy. Yes, some parts of the government viewed EVs as a ‘lifestyle product’ a few years ago. www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/singapore-says-musks-electric-cars-are-about-lifestyle-not-climate What changed was a growing realisation on the country falling behind on EV adoption (relative to Europe/China), and also urgency to acting to reduce climate impact (Singapore is a small island nation that faces an existential threat from rising sea levels). Today, there’s a lot more government support (60k EV chargers by 2030, phase out of ICE car sales by 2040, EV tax incentives of up to SG$45k). In Nov 2021, Tesla Model 3 made up 8.5% of all new car sales in the country.
@@DarenYoong Love to hear that. Thank you for your update, Daren. Much appreciated. Greetings from Zurich, Switzerland 🇨🇭. (By the way: Tesla M3 was the best selling car (5074 units) in 2021 in CH. That is remarkable because there is/was no support/incentives for EV purchases and/or charging infrastructure of the Swiss Government so far, just the force of the market playing… 💪)
Hey Ian. Yes, taking public transport is the best approach. EVs are a net positive for the environment if someone is converting from an existing ICE car. There are 600k private cars on Singapore’s roads.
Quality work and I am sure Singapore will catching up on ev and be the top few to be 100% in the world.

I like the part when he said Supercars will evolve to EV whether or not the 'customers' like it or not haha
"Its not a Tesla" but there is a tesla on the right.
imho isnt taking public transport a more environmental friendly choice? ev is not carbon neutral.
