I wish Pete's solo work got more recognition. When I went to a SF show from the last Who tour, I talked to a woman who proclaimed herself "the biggest Who fan" even wearing a worn out Who shirt from concert she had been to 20 years earlier. Which is nice and all. But when I brought up 'All The Best Cowboys..' and 'Psychoderelict' her face went completely blank. No recognition whatsoever. How can you be such a huge Who fan and have absolutely no idea about Pete's solo works?
It's their loss, missing out on all these Townshend treasures. But I'm always glad to see him getting lots of love on RUclips.

In all condor, the older I get I’m more likely to listen to his solo work than The Who. It seems to speak to me more.

Maybe she was more of a Roger fan. On the plus side you opened up a new world of albums to her.
"English Boy" is a superb tune, I love Pete a genius!
Always loved this song! The longer version on the CD has a nice guitar solo. Great groove song!
This band is etremely tight...and of course Simon Phillips knocking it out of the park as usual.

I remember this broadcast. I too, recorded it. Got that VHS floating around somewhere. I worked at a music store and found this CD in a cut out bin! I was like WHAT???? All good, sold it to a customer buying a copy of Empty glass
Great music. Why didn't The WHO stick with Simon Phillip's drumming instead of Zak? Lastly, who is the fantastic harmonica player?
Harmonica player is Peter hope Evans, and i'm ok with you for Simon being better to fix with The Who than Zak

The fact that American audiences have cozied up to that un-funny self serving ham handed tool for so long is all the proof you need that the corporotacracy's conspiracy to keep Americans dumbed-down, ill-educated and accepting of mediocrity.....has worked!...and continues to. Yeah, this one was pretty lame. But NBC managed to find someone far worse in Fallon. Bizarre that they wouldn't be more discerning with who they hire for an INTERVIEW based program from which they can derive so much revenue.
@@YouzTube99 Nobody noticed how bad they messed up the latter portion of english boy. Fortunately at that time nobody knew how the song went anyway. i remember watching it live and didn't notice myself.

Guessing it was down to PT improvising and the band trying to figure out how to follow him.
He is the polar opposite of performers who figure out exactly what they want to do and repeat it for every show. If you listen to any of his live stuff, it's never the same twice -- he's more like a jazz musician.
