They’re definitely doing a better job then a couple years back at least. Phase 2 Cody, 2 phase 2 battle packs, purple clones. So it’s been better but still not amazing.
There have been some cases of that, like the UCS gunship, Ahsoka Brickheadz, and the 10th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars. But I agree. It definitely needs to happen more often.
Because the design team isn't making all of the sets for the tiny subset of fans that'll actually go and vote, they're making these to appeal to every kid that's ever seen anything star wars. On top of that, they did let us vote for something prequel-y and that set was fucking lambasted by everyone on release because there wasn't a cody or whatever. Why would they keep letting us do it if the thing we pick isn't going to sell?
My biggest problem is 2020 clone troopers. This mainly applies for the phase 2 clones, but the same can be said about the phase 1's. Helmets: -The coloured print on the P2 helmets doesn't meet up to the fin on the top. -Cheeks are completely shaded via printing. -The oddly placed holes make the helmets wider. (This isn't really a problem of you add the sun visor attachment) -The visor print looks more CW than anything. Torso: -They're predominantly CW looking. -The abdominal section is raised way too high in the chest causing the blue pattern to look really weird on the 501st. -The officer is the only 501st minifigure to have blue printed on the upper back. (All regular 501st should have this, especially if this is based off EA BF2). The 212th are also missing orange on their backs. Legs: The legs are probably the only improvement, along with the head. -Lego scrapped cloth waste capes and now they're printing them only on the fronts of the legs. Lego scrapped the near perfect 2013 - 2017 live action ROTS CT armor and replaced it with this dumbed down Clone Wars animated looking armor, which has had several problems, unlike the peak clone armor we've had prior. If it ain't broke, don't "fix it". Same can be said about the new stormtroopers.
clone wars style hater 🥱 sorry if you cant see but the clone wars and its style is more relevant to the average star wars fan these days with shows like the clone wars, bad batch etc while rots and bf2 are still relevant but not as prominently. plus the new style better fits the lego style- remember, this is primarily a childrens toy and being ultra realistic isnt as important, especially given the shape and size of minifigures anyway

But having 2 different clone styles at the same time would be kinda annoying, as while they are all good styles in their own way, it would be kinda annoying for anyone making a clone army or something as the designs would be inconsistent. Obviously the new styles aren't perfect but I think they hit a nice middle ground while not looking too weird

I am praying that we get a big Revenge of the Sith wave for 2025 for the 20th anniversary for that movie similar to 2014 wave which was my favorite waves
The helmet holes actually aren’t a nitpick. It’s actually a design compromise. I get that it doesn’t look good and it’s inaccurate, but If they put the helmet holes where they are supposed to be, the visor wouldn’t be able to move above the helmet and would get stuck. As for other stuff like the 212th helmet printing, yea that’s an issue. I hope Lego can fix that and make it accurate so the helmet printing comes to a point which is how it’s supposed to be. Another few things I hope Lego can do is make a helmet that has only 1 helmet hole in it. That would be great, especially for a Captain Rex Minifigure. Lastly false advertising has become a big problem, and Lego seriously needs to stop doing that. It’s unacceptable.

Then redesign the damn shape of the accessories! Clone army customs don’t have an issue with it. When I look at the new clones with helmet holes they look fine but when I look at the old ones I remember how bad the new ones look

It's going to be a little while before you consistently get large prequel/clone wars sets. Larger sets, especially UCS, sets will usually be marketed to older fans because they have more money/credit. Most fans who were fans of the clone wars/prequels are still attempting to establish their finances, which is why most sets geared toward them fall in the $20-100 range. They want their large sets to be appealing to as many Star Wars fans as possible, and all Star Wars fans like the OT. However, very few of the older fans care (or even know) about the CW, and will instantly associate their sets with the prequels, which the will automatically reject. As an older fan I had this very experience with the Gun Ship, and it's unlikely I will ever spend money on anything that could be linked to the prequels. I've barely given it a second look since it's release. Eventually they will start to release more higher priced CW sets, but until then they will release one every few years until the sales indicate they should release them more often.
I kinda agree. Every time I go to the store I see shelves have OT stuff bc everyone has one and doesn’t want anymore. Clone wars sets are almost always sold out bc everyone wants more of them.

The worst part about this year for lego star wars so far in my opinion is the 20 years of clone wars label they're using. 2023 is the 20th anniversary of the 2003 2D series, not the 2008 3D series, but more likely then not, a majority if not all cw sets this year are gonna be 2008 cw, not 2003 cw, so to me it just feels like lego is just trying to use the 20th anniversary label as soon as possible because 20 sounds better than 15, the age 2008 turns this year, and not even trying to be accurate to the series they're celebrating.
You got a point. The reason everyone was so excited about this "20-Year CW Anniversary" was for more Tartakovsky Clone Wars sets but we've got everything but that!
People need to make LEGO ideas sets so we can vote on them and if it gets enough votes we will have it! That’s what happened with some other sets but not with the ones we want!
the helmet holes aren't nitpicks at all. They are objective issues with the clone helmets. You also missed a couple of issues such as Cody's and the 501st heavy trooper's outdated visors and the printed backpack that isn't molded.

It is insane to me that last year was the 20th anniversary of atoc and the only set we got was Obi-wans starfighter. Lego doesn't make much prequel era stuff for some reason. As evidence they haven't remade the speeder chase and Jango slave 1. They have never made a geonsis battle arena or droid factory. Never made a jedi council, remade the boga, and I could go on. Meanwhile everything from 4-6 has been made and remade from that matter. Multiple Death Stars, Landspeeders, Sandcrawlers, Boba Slave 1, Falcons, Carbon Freeze chamber, Jabba palace, Jabba barge, numerous hoth sets, atats, imperial shuttles, xwings, tie fighters. Only thing in need of a remake from 4-6 is the Endor Bunker

@@hnzo6111 most companies do, and I’m not sure what your point is about Disney being the largest name in their respective industry considering LEGO is also that. If LEGO was worried about oversaturation, they probably wouldn’t be making so many rereleases of things like the X-wing (which has gotten 9 sets without including minibuilds) or Jedi starfighters. And how does the new 501st battlepack serve your point? They released the year immediately after the 501st battlepack retired, which just doesn’t make sense if we’re saying they are trying to avoid oversaturation. How could there be anything worse for oversaturation than rereleasing almost an identical set? Plus, them folding to both the 501st and the Commander Cody requests, and making both sets much more expensive than standard (plus the rerelease) suggests pretty strongly that they are farming these consumer requests. Of course, it’s not all out, but I think it’s reasonable to say this is because they’re very insecure in anything Star Wars except the most classic sets, because they have to keep up a diverse catalog, and because farming in LEGO is gonna look very different. Im not sure I’ve ever seen LEGO respond to so many requests back to back, and if they put Rex in the upcoming sets, it’ll be even more suggestive that they’re stepping more and more into following hard on the heels of that money

It’s simple, Lego has all the data and know what sells. Pain and simply clone wars sets don’t sell as well as OT sets. It’s not some ignorance on behalf of the Lego team
what problem lego REALLY has is a mandalorian problem. Why do they have ONE helmet mold for all mando's, including ones like bo katan and din djarin when clearly they both have extremely unique helmet molds compared to most other mando's and are both well liked and popular characters? And they can't even get boba fett's color right and just re-use his old color bc they're too lazy to darken the shade of green? you can ignore little holes in the side of the helmet being in the wrong spot but when the helmet's the completely wrong color how can you ignore that?
The biggest problem is the new phase 2 helmet design. The 2013 one was simply the best phase 2 design. There's no debate. Thats why I'm no longer buying new sets with clones involved.

The mechs have the advantage of providing the new version of the stormtrooper, can be a boba of the original trilogy with painted arms, and a cheap dark vador with painted arms too. Parts are always useful if you want to build something else. on the other hand, adding $5 more just because it’s star wars is really insulting
Getting that new Coruscant Guard Republic Gunship and the UCS Venator this year is gonna be pretty great, but my main problem with the clone wars sets and the clone battle packs is that they're always the same 3; 501st, 332nd, and 212th. I love the Republic Battle Tank because it has the 187th and it's so nice for a change. So I'd love if they stopped recycling the same 3 clone battalions and give us some new ones that we haven't gotten before or haven't gotten in a long time. I think it would be silly not to release a Coruscant Guard trooper battle pack in conjunction with the new gunship coming this year
This wasn't the argument i was expecting from the video. I find it ironic that Lego is the only company that makes non 501st troops. Quality Control is a different issue but i'm glad they're not just making everything Blue
@@Trimd I don't collect lego due to pricing, but Hasbro needs to take a lesson from other star wars products. Every Alt colored clone that comes out is now 501st and not just that missing color detail to fit into the TCW design philosophy. Plus the almost oversized removable helmets is getting old too. I want some variety to my stuff

Maybe it's Disney telling them not to make Clone Wars/Revenge of the Sith stuff because they only seem to focus on the original trilogy. Lego isn't capitalizing on anything and just increasing prices on ok sets
The price increase is to be expected with inflation, some of it is a bit much but that's what happens unfortunately. Disney definitely has a large input on which sets they choose, a lot of it is the stuff from the newer shows and projects I believe
Lego definitely doesn't represent the clone wars enough. For something with such a large fan base, it's baffling that lego refuses to touch it. It makes no sense. It would make more money than those dioramas (which I will say are nice, but don't feel worth their cost) or the billionth landspeeder
The current people in charge are probably boomers who coom over the OT and hate the prequels with a passion and ignore that the people that grew up with the prequels and clonewars are adults now

I disagree with the idea that the new clone wars waves are good. The AAT was wonky, the 501st battlepack has oversized builds and extra battle droids to take advantage of fans, all the clones have both a hybrid animated/live action torso, most of the clones have a weird blank white hip piece, and now the clone have been given the worst helmet mould Star Wars has ever gotten. These just aren’t nitpicks. It’s honestly the worst time to be a clone fan of LEGO, and I wish people would stop hyping these subpar designs just because LEGO is finally making something other than generic clones. Yes it’s the 501st, yes it’s the phase II Commander Cody, but their designs are atrocious and have gotten to the point where they look like knockoffs
The sets definitely have their problems and could be better, but the way I look at it, I'm sure really happy to have some clone sets again because from 2015-2018 we got barely any

Ok my thoughts on this: First of all I’m glad you didn’t rant on the 2020 clone style cause it’s getting hate for no reason its really good and doesn’t deserve to be hated, I understand if someone dislikes it but saying it’s bad it’s just wrong. Regarding the Ucs gunship I have no comments except the LEGO designer probably had a lapsus linguae why did they not fix it who knows. Now the helmet holes, people are overheating them they look fine, yes the old helmets were better true, but this one’s aren’t bad either they are tolerable and the placement of the holes makes absolute sense from a logistical point of view not even making a new visor mold would’ve fixed how odd the helmet would’ve looked if the holes were on the “right spot” cause the visors and macrobinoculars sit above that point only range finders fit there so it was a necessary compromise ideally they would give us a set of helmets without holes and a set with holes so we can choose but it’s not awful either. Now this part when you say that LEGO doesn’t supply well this sets? Or at least that’s what I understood, yes the clone minifig pack was unavailable but the other sets still are heavily available and I haven’t seen them go out of stock in a long time. Now the kammas (waist capes) there is a reason why they are printed, they need their troopers to sit so therefore they just print them, ideally the kammas would be side printed but I dunno it’s fine ig. Now a point I have to make is that LEGO doesn’t hate prequels if they did, we wouldn’t have gotten the 2 501st battlepacks and a potential 3rd in 3 years tge AT TE with commander Cody of all things, the helmets of Cody and Rex, the siege of mandalorian sets, the AAT, the clone pack. Are they perfect? Well the og 501st battlepack is perfect and I don’t want to hear otherwise, but the others… maybe not but they are still excellent sets well most of them… ahem AAT ahem… But they were compromises that were needed to make and we’ve got to accept that not everything is what we want, the more LEGO please us the more we whine, saying that LEGO doesn’t listen to their fans when what they’ve done in the past 4 years is listening to us, and I don’t think it’s fair to go all out on them
The design is objectively bad, it mixes animated and live action styles, and it adds a white hip piece that emphasizes the absence of hip printing. And yes, new moulds of the macrobinoculars and the visor absolutely would’ve fixed it, not sure what you’re talking about. And no the change isn’t tolerable, it’s completely ruined the helmet shape and looks incredibly cheap to have two holes inserted randomly into the helmet

LEGO accessorizable helmets have ALWAYS been thoughtful as to how the other pieces fit into the design rather than just getting racked on wherever the designers felt like. The Rebel trooper, phase I Clone, and Mandalorian helmets have incorporated these into their designs seamlessly for over a decade. If I wanted shittily designed minifigs that have no design cohesion, I would buy the many knockoff clones that people make with wayyy more variety. LEGO is a premium service with a premium price, and tacking on shit in their designs goes against the standards they’ve set *for themselves*. It boggles the mind people even argue this. There’s legitimately no reason to be defending these choices, all you’re doing is making the design worse. Boggles the mind even further that somehow the 212th print being a frog’s hair off is a super serious issue to you but huge holes that are completely separated from the design aren’t. But yes, that is another issue. LEGO sure is racking up the reasons to why an avid clone fan would never want to buy from them again. Frankly though, the helmet design is a larger issue. It is physically larger and more noticeable, and unlike the 212th problem, this problem will apply to every clone they ever make. I can also see LEGO at some point realizing their prints are sliding down and fixing that themselves. A whole new mould though? I don’t see that as very likely, especially because this is now the 3rd Phase II helmet iteration they’ve made. If LEGO fans don’t unite to say its unacceptable, I think the designers will consider t good enough, and eventually both designers and remaining LEGO consumers will become used to this and pretend as if it’s just part of the LEGO style (even though it has never ever been)
I feel weneed more droid sets. a recusant one, a mugnificent one, maybe (i'm dreaming too much) a lucrehulk one? and of course, some ground assets too, dropships, MTT (holy shit give us back an MTT it's been ages), tri-droids, gunships... there's so much available that it's impressive they do not build on this. edit: I forgot to ask for a providence class set (why not grievous's invisible hand?|
I think the new shows are what’s causing a huge lack of clone wars sets because they’re spending more time collecting designs for what’s currently coming out which in my personal opinion I think they should watch the show before making the sets so they can be the most accurate! Like boba fetts palace for example!
Disney and LEGO will be in contact when the shows are in production so the products can come out on time, and unfortunately, that's why the sets aren't always accurate.
I'm just saying if there were more "Attack of the Clones" and "Revenge of the Sith" sets I would be buying alot more. I was just never into the clone wars sets that much, didn't like the look of the early ones compared to the movie ones. My top 3 sets that I want are a Venator, ARC-170, and a SPHA.
And also with the price increase of Legos this might be the downfall of Lego at least in terms of license sets Marvel's not doing any better and DC doesn't really have any sets which is sad because I really like this stuff when I was a kid and just want to buy the awesome Lego set stuff I know they can make shame they've gone to art and overpriced Mac suits We don't like them for Marvel either

The fact that the slywalker saga game exists shows that Lego has these designs already you can’t talk me they made a model and they can’t use it or port it to the thing that they use to design legos it honestly makes me sad because Lego could have so many great sets and could sell them like crazy especially now with how much of a boom they’ve gad but they don’t seem to see what they are missing out on

He does a good job when he wants to, the UCS Millenium Falcon is flawless, and then we get the 2020 AAT completely unproportioned, is not like they cannot design something good, 2009 CW wave was pretty good, good scales, great play features, sizable builds, you name it, it’s just they are picking the clone wars set very poorly, it’s not like those are non existent, its not what fans want
I believe Disney might have something to do with that due to how much original trilogy and sequel trilogy sets we’ve gotten. Even though they don’t sell well because it’s just the same ships and buildings we’ve gotten the year before

You’re really underestimating just how much of the younger generations prioritize the clone wars above all else. If you explore online fandom, you’ll find it pretty damn hard to find activity around any other era. Maybe there’s a lot of older people who aren’t active in these spaces, true, but love for the Clone Wars is almost ubiquitous for Star Wars fans under 30

-The abdominal section is raised way too high in the chest causing the blue pattern to look really weird on the 501st.
-The officer is the only 501st minifigure to have blue printed on the upper back. (All regular 501st should have this, especially if this is based off EA BF2).
The 212th are also missing orange on their backs.
Legs:
The legs are probably the only improvement, along with the head.
-Lego scrapped cloth waste capes and now they're printing them only on the fronts of the legs.
Lego scrapped the near perfect 2013 - 2017 live action ROTS CT armor and replaced it with this dumbed down Clone Wars animated looking armor, which has had several problems, unlike the peak clone armor we've had prior.
If it ain't broke, don't "fix it".

sorry if you cant see but the clone wars and its style is more relevant to the average star wars fan these days with shows like the clone wars, bad batch etc while rots and bf2 are still relevant but not as prominently. plus the new style better fits the lego style- remember, this is primarily a childrens toy and being ultra realistic isnt as important, especially given the shape and size of minifigures anyway

The helmet holes actually aren’t a nitpick. It’s actually a design compromise. I get that it doesn’t look good and it’s inaccurate, but If they put the helmet holes where they are supposed to be, the visor wouldn’t be able to move above the helmet and would get stuck. As for other stuff like the 212th helmet printing, yea that’s an issue. I hope Lego can fix that and make it accurate so the helmet printing comes to a point which is how it’s supposed to be. Another few things I hope Lego can do is make a helmet that has only 1 helmet hole in it. That would be great, especially for a Captain Rex Minifigure. Lastly false advertising has become a big problem, and Lego seriously needs to stop doing that. It’s unacceptable.

Then redesign the damn shape of the accessories! Clone army customs don’t have an issue with it. When I look at the new clones with helmet holes they look fine but when I look at the old ones I remember how bad the new ones look

It's going to be a little while before you consistently get large prequel/clone wars sets. Larger sets, especially UCS, sets will usually be marketed to older fans because they have more money/credit. Most fans who were fans of the clone wars/prequels are still attempting to establish their finances, which is why most sets geared toward them fall in the $20-100 range. They want their large sets to be appealing to as many Star Wars fans as possible, and all Star Wars fans like the OT. However, very few of the older fans care (or even know) about the CW, and will instantly associate their sets with the prequels, which the will automatically reject. As an older fan I had this very experience with the Gun Ship, and it's unlikely I will ever spend money on anything that could be linked to the prequels. I've barely given it a second look since it's release. Eventually they will start to release more higher priced CW sets, but until then they will release one every few years until the sales indicate they should release them more often.

The worst part about this year for lego star wars so far in my opinion is the 20 years of clone wars label they're using. 2023 is the 20th anniversary of the 2003 2D series, not the 2008 3D series, but more likely then not, a majority if not all cw sets this year are gonna be 2008 cw, not 2003 cw, so to me it just feels like lego is just trying to use the 20th anniversary label as soon as possible because 20 sounds better than 15, the age 2008 turns this year, and not even trying to be accurate to the series they're celebrating.
You got a point. The reason everyone was so excited about this "20-Year CW Anniversary" was for more Tartakovsky Clone Wars sets but we've got everything but that!

It is insane to me that last year was the 20th anniversary of atoc and the only set we got was Obi-wans starfighter. Lego doesn't make much prequel era stuff for some reason. As evidence they haven't remade the speeder chase and Jango slave 1. They have never made a geonsis battle arena or droid factory. Never made a jedi council, remade the boga, and I could go on. Meanwhile everything from 4-6 has been made and remade from that matter. Multiple Death Stars, Landspeeders, Sandcrawlers, Boba Slave 1, Falcons, Carbon Freeze chamber, Jabba palace, Jabba barge, numerous hoth sets, atats, imperial shuttles, xwings, tie fighters. Only thing in need of a remake from 4-6 is the Endor Bunker

This is both a good thing and bad thing, with people perhaps feeling as though the Lego group simply has been ignoring their demands. If LEGO was worried about oversaturation, they probably wouldn’t be making so many rereleases of things like the X-wing (which has gotten 9 sets without including minibuilds) or Jedi starfighters.
And how does the new 501st battlepack serve your point? They released the year immediately after the 501st battlepack retired, which just doesn’t make sense if we’re saying they are trying to avoid oversaturation. How could there be anything worse for oversaturation than rereleasing almost an identical set?
Plus, them folding to both the 501st and the Commander Cody requests, and making both sets much more expensive than standard (plus the rerelease) suggests pretty strongly that they are farming these consumer requests. Of course, it’s not all out, but I think it’s reasonable to say this is because they’re very insecure in anything Star Wars except the most classic sets, because they have to keep up a diverse catalog, and because farming in LEGO is gonna look very different.
Im not sure I’ve ever seen LEGO respond to so many requests back to back, and if they put Rex in the upcoming sets, it’ll be even more suggestive that they’re stepping more and more into following hard on the heels of that money

Why do they have ONE helmet mold for all mando's, including ones like bo katan and din djarin when clearly they both have extremely unique helmet molds compared to most other mando's and are both well liked and popular characters? And they can't even get boba fett's color right and just re-use his old color bc they're too lazy to darken the shade of green? you can ignore little holes in the side of the helmet being in the wrong spot but when the helmet's the completely wrong color how can you ignore that?

The mechs have the advantage of providing the new version of the stormtrooper, can be a boba of the original trilogy with painted arms, and a cheap dark vador with painted arms too. Getting that new Coruscant Guard Republic Gunship and the UCS Venator this year is gonna be pretty great, but my main problem with the clone wars sets and the clone battle packs is that they're always the same 3; 501st, 332nd, and 212th. I love the Republic Battle Tank because it has the 187th and it's so nice for a change. So I'd love if they stopped recycling the same 3 clone battalions and give us some new ones that we haven't gotten before or haven't gotten in a long time. I think it would be silly not to release a Coruscant Guard trooper battle pack in conjunction with the new gunship coming this year

@@Trimd I don't collect lego due to pricing, but Hasbro needs to take a lesson from other star wars products. Every Alt colored clone that comes out is now 501st and not just that missing color detail to fit into the TCW design philosophy. Plus the almost oversized removable helmets is getting old too. I want some variety to my stuff

The price increase is to be expected with inflation, some of it is a bit much but that's what happens unfortunately. Disney definitely has a large input on which sets they choose, a lot of it is the stuff from the newer shows and projects I believe

Lego definitely doesn't represent the clone wars enough. For something with such a large fan base, it's baffling that lego refuses to touch it. It makes no sense. It would make more money than those dioramas (which I will say are nice, but don't feel worth their cost) or the billionth landspeeder

I disagree with the idea that the new clone wars waves are good.
The AAT was wonky, the 501st battlepack has oversized builds and extra battle droids to take advantage of fans, all the clones have both a hybrid animated/live action torso, most of the clones have a weird blank white hip piece, and now the clone have been given the worst helmet mould Star Wars has ever gotten.
These just aren’t nitpicks. It’s honestly the worst time to be a clone fan of LEGO, and I wish people would stop hyping these subpar designs just because LEGO is finally making something other than generic clones. Yes it’s the 501st, yes it’s the phase II Commander Cody, but their designs are atrocious and have gotten to the point where they look like knockoffs
The sets definitely have their problems and could be better, but the way I look at it, I'm sure really happy to have some clone sets again because from 2015-2018 we got barely any

Ok my thoughts on this:
First of all I’m glad you didn’t rant on the 2020 clone style cause it’s getting hate for no reason its really good and doesn’t deserve to be hated, I understand if someone dislikes it but saying it’s bad it’s just wrong.
Regarding the Ucs gunship I have no comments except the LEGO designer probably had a lapsus linguae why did they not fix it who knows.
Now the helmet holes, people are overheating them they look fine, yes the old helmets were better true, but this one’s aren’t bad either they are tolerable and the placement of the holes makes absolute sense from a logistical point of view not even making a new visor mold would’ve fixed how odd the helmet would’ve looked if the holes were on the “right spot” cause the visors and macrobinoculars sit above that point only range finders fit there so it was a necessary compromise ideally they would give us a set of helmets without holes and a set with holes so we can choose but it’s not awful either.
Now this part when you say that LEGO doesn’t supply well this sets? Or at least that’s what I understood, yes the clone minifig pack was unavailable but the other sets still are heavily available and I haven’t seen them go out of stock in a long time.
Now the kammas (waist capes) there is a reason why they are printed, they need their troopers to sit so therefore they just print them, ideally the kammas would be side printed but I dunno it’s fine ig.
Now a point I have to make is that LEGO doesn’t hate prequels if they did, we wouldn’t have gotten the 2 501st battlepacks and a potential 3rd in 3 years tge AT TE with commander Cody of all things, the helmets of Cody and Rex, the siege of mandalorian sets, the AAT, the clone pack. Are they perfect? Well the og 501st battlepack is perfect and I don’t want to hear otherwise, but the others… maybe not but they are still excellent sets well most of them… ahem AAT ahem… But they were compromises that were needed to make and we’ve got to accept that not everything is what we want, the more LEGO please us the more we whine, saying that LEGO doesn’t listen to their fans when what they’ve done in the past 4 years is listening to us, and I don’t think it’s fair to go all out on them
The design is objectively bad, it mixes animated and live action styles, and it adds a white hip piece that emphasizes the absence of hip printing.
And yes, new moulds of the macrobinoculars and the visor absolutely would’ve fixed it, not sure what you’re talking about. And no the change isn’t tolerable, it’s completely ruined the helmet shape and looks incredibly cheap to have two holes inserted randomly into the helmet

@@willtaylor6793 just because you got low standards doesn’t mean that this isn’t a genuine issue. LEGO accessorizable helmets have ALWAYS been thoughtful as to how the other pieces fit into the design rather than just getting racked on wherever the designers felt like. The Rebel trooper, phase I Clone, and Mandalorian helmets have incorporated these into their designs seamlessly for over a decade.
If I wanted shittily designed minifigs that have no design cohesion, I would buy the many knockoff clones that people make with wayyy more variety. LEGO is a premium service with a premium price, and tacking on shit in their designs goes against the standards they’ve set *for themselves*. It boggles the mind people even argue this. There’s legitimately no reason to be defending these choices, all you’re doing is making the design worse. Boggles the mind even further that somehow the 212th print being a frog’s hair off is a super serious issue to you but huge holes that are completely separated from the design aren’t.
But yes, that is another issue. LEGO sure is racking up the reasons to why an avid clone fan would never want to buy from them again. Frankly though, the helmet design is a larger issue. It is physically larger and more noticeable, and unlike the 212th problem, this problem will apply to every clone they ever make. I can also see LEGO at some point realizing their prints are sliding down and fixing that themselves. A whole new mould though? I don’t see that as very likely, especially because this is now the 3rd Phase II helmet iteration they’ve made. If LEGO fans don’t unite to say its unacceptable, I think the designers will consider t good enough, and eventually both designers and remaining LEGO consumers will become used to this and pretend as if it’s just part of the LEGO style (even though it has never ever been)

I think the new shows are what’s causing a huge lack of clone wars sets because they’re spending more time collecting designs for what’s currently coming out which in my personal opinion I think they should watch the show before making the sets so they can be the most accurate!

Disney and LEGO will be in contact when the shows are in production so the products can come out on time, and unfortunately, that's why the sets aren't always accurate.

I'm just saying if there were more "Attack of the Clones" and "Revenge of the Sith" sets I would be buying alot more. I was just never into the clone wars sets that much, didn't like the look of the early ones compared to the movie ones. My top 3 sets that I want are a Venator, ARC-170, and a SPHA.
And also with the price increase of Legos this might be the downfall of Lego at least in terms of license sets Marvel's not doing any better and DC doesn't really have any sets which is sad because I really like this stuff when I was a kid and just want to buy the awesome Lego set stuff I know they can make shame they've gone to art and overpriced Mac suits We don't like them for Marvel either
Yes, I'm interested to see how the price increase affects the sets. The last time we saw an increase like this was back in 2017/18 and there was a lot of clearance so that's kinda promising!
The fact that the slywalker saga game exists shows that Lego has these designs already you can’t talk me they made a model and they can’t use it or port it to the thing that they use to design legos it honestly makes me sad because Lego could have so many great sets and could sell them like crazy especially now with how much of a boom they’ve gad but they don’t seem to see what they are missing out on

He does a good job when he wants to, the UCS Millenium Falcon is flawless, and then we get the 2020 AAT completely unproportioned, is not like they cannot design something good, 2009 CW wave was pretty good, good scales, great play features, sizable builds, you name it, it’s just they are picking the clone wars set very poorly, it’s not like those are non existent, its not what fans want

I believe Disney might have something to do with that due to how much original trilogy and sequel trilogy sets we’ve gotten. Even though they don’t sell well because it’s just the same ships and buildings we’ve gotten the year before

I'm so sorry that your entire yearly wave isn't clone wars but that's just how the cookie crumbles. The people who want clone wars sets are in the minority now. It may not seem that way to your narrow mind but a few hundred thousand people are just a drop of water in the massive ocean that is lego consumers. You’re really underestimating just how much of the younger generations prioritize the clone wars above all else. If you explore online fandom, you’ll find it pretty damn hard to find activity around any other era. Maybe there’s a lot of older people who aren’t active in these spaces, true, but love for the Clone Wars is almost ubiquitous for Star Wars fans under 30
