Congrats to Mike on a great series of swings with both sets of clubs. He’s clearly been working hard on his game and it’s paying off.
Much as I enjoy watching pro’s (ie most YT testers) giving the sweet-spot a hammering by flushing shot after shot - a useful test in itself, of course - I find testing by someone like Mike much more relevant & relatable to my own mid-handicap game.
    Good work, guys! 😊

I have access to same amount of clubs and honestly, I’ve hated having to make switched to my bag. The issue is just knowing as much as they do, they know it’s hard to find something that can be fitted perfectly, so you’re constantly trying to find the next best thing. But ultimately, finding a bag where nothing changes is the idea

Not quite the home run if you consider every degree of loft would roughly equate to 2mph ball speed, with the titleist being 2 degree stronger basically performing the same with if anything a tighter SD for the muira. Would have been nice to see more of the comparable land angles & peak heights. The heel strikes in the muira and toe strikes in the T150 could be a result of the two shaft lengths?

  • @KevenSandoval

I’ll give you the 5i, but from 6i down to wedge it seems to me the Miuras have a tighter gapping and just as good a stopping power. On the golf course where you really just want to hit targets those extra few yards with the 150s don’t really do anything useful.

I got fit and played the original T200 but wanted more feel in the short irons, plus I hated the odd flyer I would get. I got the Miura CB301 in 7-PW and ordered them to match lofts with the T200. Found no difference in ball speed and saw a bit more height and better landing angles from the Miura. Sold the T200 to my brother and got P770 in the 5-6 to combo and returned the Miura lofts to stock. No loss of distance and have added a bit more height and consistency from playing more. Purchased and waiting on the Miura KM700 to arrive but considering maybe keeping the P770 in the 5i after hearing Mike talk about hitting irons out of the rough

Hi guys! So assuming someone’s irons are too long for them, the impact location tends to be where? The shot direction tends to be where?
Also, as far as static measuring, do you still do wrist to floor or knuckles to floor?
What length would generally constitute going down a 1/4 inch? I know static is not as important as the actual delivery, but as a general guide.
    Thank you!!

      T200’s 5-8 1 degree weaker
T150’s 9 and pw. Pw 1 degree weaker
      T100 gw
This would get lofts 5 degree gap a the top end of the bag and 4-4.5 degrees in the 6-9

    Are the lofts the same?

  • @Boss302ATC
    @Boss302ATC Год назад

The difference comes down to a faster trampoline face vs. the blades. The shorter club probably nets more control of strike, and the "stronger lofts" are a necessity because the club shaft deflects more because of the lower CG - look at delivered loft in the test. The low CG is adding loft in the swing, hence the lower static loft to begin with. 4000 spin in a 5 iron is starting to show the limits of his swing speed vs CG and shft deflection, what does the 3 iron spin at? Extra trajectory is nice but 7w or 4H may be a better solution - although not all golfers like thos clubs...

If Mikey is a 2 handicapper, that puts him in the top 5.4% of male golfers, so while it is interesting to see the results he gets, he is not really representative of us great unwashed masses who make up the bulk of your audience. Or of club buyers. Seems like its time to bring back Ronnie. Somebody with an average handicap of between 14 and 17.
I hit the T150 7 iron today at the PGA Superstore in Rockville, Maryland. With a Nippon NS Pro 950 GH R flex 94.5 gram shaft. My current irons are solid forged blades with traditional lofts, 34 degree 7 iron, with Nippon NS Pro Zelos 8 stiff 87.5 gram shafts. My handicap index ranges from 16.2 to 17.2. So in a way, I ran a comparison similar to Mikey's but for someone at a lower level of skill. (BTW, I am 82.) Here are the results for my best swings (two for the T150). Used the new Mizuno RB Tour X ball.
Forged blade 34 degree 7 iron: ball speed 95, carry 132, total 141, launch angle 23.8, height 76, descent angle 44, spin 4842.
    Titleist T150 32 degree 7 iron: ball speed 100.3, carry 141, total 147, launch angle 21.9, height 75, descent angle 42.6, spin 4371
    Titleist T150 32 degree 7 iron: ball speed 98.8, carry 141, total 149, launch angle 23, height 77, descent angle 43.1, spin 3998.
It looks to me like the results I got confirm what you found for Mikey, that with the new T150 you are getting the same height and close to the same descent angle, less run and thus better stopping, all with the benefit of in my case almost a full club extra distance. These Titleist irons are going to be hot sellers. I also want to try the T200 irons.

Ronnie is an 9hcp, definitely not a 14-17hcp

Well paaaardon me! I thought I might get a somewhat more useful and informative response related to the performance of the new clubs, not some rather condescending and defensive comment about Ronnie. I really don't care what his handicap is. The point was, you have used him as a middle handicap senior reviewer closer to many of the players in your audience rather than a younger scratch handicapper with high swing speed, and I thought it would be useful to see how the new Titleist irons performed for that level of player. But if Ronnie is a 9 GHIN handicap player, that puts him in the top 29% of all male golfers, so watching him would not be all that useful. He must play a lot of golf. What is he, 64 years old? Think that was mentioned. Let's see what handicap he has when he gets to be 82 like me. Anyway, I have learned a lot about the technical aspects of clubs and shafts from Ian, and remain grateful for that, as well as being introduced to Gareth Raflewski through him. But now that TXG is gone and you are only Club Champion, if you are only interested in reviews by players with single digit handicaps, maybe it's time to pay less attention and follow others. @@clubchampionmedia

I realize you're trying to sell product, but really what's the point of comparing iron models that have different lofts/lengths/shafts etc. Unless the basic specs are the same, the test is all but useless.

We’re comparing Mike’s old irons versus a new set that he may consider. We’re going through the data to dissect the differences between the two. We know the specs are different etc, that’s why he’s considering them because we know the clubs have attributes that may be helpful to Mike moving forward. This has nothing to do with us trying to sell anything and if that’s what you think you unfortunately missed the point of the video.
