Testing these on Wednesday, whilst they are loaded rockets, my fitter is raving about them. Says they are so much better than the Paradym, despite being cast rather than forged, and apparently the feel is pretty good. Your review backs this up, so thanks, my worry will be are they too offset, let’s see.

No. I hit my 5 iron like he hits his wedge.
I just hit the HLs at PGA store and I was impressed. Much lighter than the Stealth irons and I was much more consistent with them. They look good, feel good and hit good.
I think I found my new irons. (Don’t tell my wife).

Played this weekend and didnt have my pings in the bag so had to use a rental set. Rentals were the callaway Smoke irons and I was absolutely blown away. Superb acoustics, great distance and felt like I couldn’t miss…and all of this was after a layoff of a few weeks of not playing.
what course has paradym rentals?lol
@@dylanmontgomery2246 loads of them have smoke AI irons. Callaway is prob the number one golf course rental clubs provider. No biggie
Just got fitted for these in the HL version really nice was surprised at this. As a mid high handicap player who has game improvement irons these felt so much better. Really impressed and a shout out to American golf aberdeen for fitting these.
Were the HL a winner ? I’ve been curious about mizuno and now Callaway HL
@@hanshuhta8007for me yes the HL was the winner. I have to say the Callaway was far in away the better feeling club compared to the mizuno as well.
I almost upgraded my irons to the Paradym X this past year. Now, I'm glad I waited. I'll be getting a fitting for these for sure.
As someone who did go w/ the Paradym X, I tried these and immediately got an order placed for once after a fitting. Sound was better, felt more consistent and the overall feel was great!
2 nd round of golf i played with these irons shot a 76. 1st round with Sparta clubs 158. Major improvement
Just got fitted for these irons today. It came down between AI Smoke, TaylorMade and Mizuno. The Smokes just felt better! Can’t wait to get them!
Same here! QI's felt too chunky. Can't wait for these to arrive (3 weeks hopefully). Interesting the P wedge is 42 degrees, I had to add the AW to the purchase so sort the gapping. Hope yours arrive soon.
Couldn’t agree more. Just went and hit the Qi Taylormade irons today, which I was certain I was buying before getting to the store. The guy doing the fitting said try these Callaway AI Smokes. They were so much better. I was carrying a 7 iron 182-185 consistently, even on mishits. The Taylormade were clunky and didn’t feel good to me. After happily trading in my Ping G425’s (worst clubs I’ve ever owned) and getting $800 in trade in for them, I’m super excited to play tomorrow with the AI Smokes.
Alex, you have the dispersion wrong, what you see is the awerage distance offline, meaning that the average of 1 shot 10 yard left and 1 shot 10 yard right is exactly 0. While the dispersion is actually 20 yards. In order to get the actual dispersion you should add up all the nominal offline numbers (left and right) and divide by the number of shots..
That’s because he is an > more dispersion in his case than distance offline 😅…HE wants so bad that the people press the like button for is money back & run to the next golf shop and buy Calaway…..he has in his eyes the look of used cars dealer closing the detrimental deal ( for you )

Pretty sure you misheard what he said. He was referring to Callaways claim of 20% tighter dispersion, not that his avg offline was 20%

I just ordered a set of AI Smoke irons. I did a 2-hour fitting at my CC and the AI Smoke (Callaway, Taylormade, Titleist, and Ping) was my favorite. Can't wait for them to arrive.
They are the best iron I have ever hit period!!!! I play T100s and got on the trackman hit ten 7 iron shots all going 200 yards then I tried a ten 5 iron shots averaging 235 yards. What in the world are the clubs made with? Magic!!!!
How are the spin rates / decent angles ? My concern with an iron like this is they won’t hold a green due to being “hot” and low spin. Curious on your thoughts.
Just tested against my Paradym X irons & the standard Ai Smoke irons were 8-12 yards further, tighter dispersion & more forgiving off a low face hit (my miss) - impressed
I went to Top Golf Boston last weekend for Father's Day and upgraded for an extra 30.00 these irons. Not to sure about distance increase but looks and forgiveness were very nice.
I’ve been using X22s for 15 years, and this is one o the few irons I have liked enough to consider buying.
I ordered these yesterday to replace PXG 0311P. Looking for more accuracy, lower flight, more distance. The Smokes are 1-2* stronger. Ordered 5-GW.
I was going in to get fit for a new set of Mizuno irons and hit the AI Smoke for fun. I am 63 year old and I swing my 7 iron only about 82 mph. The Mizuno 243 Pro's felt wonderful but the distance I was getting from the AI Smoke was Intoxicating. I kept saying "no way I am replacing my Mizuno's with this Callaway rocket ship" but I couldn't believe how solid they felt. My miss is a marginally fat shot and the Smoke AI's didn't seem to be affected very much. My only worry is my shot pattern was consistently left 5 yards (due to the offset I am betting). The "standard shafts" are too light I think and I opted for the TT Project X IO which might help the left shot. In about 2 weeks I will find out!
Looks like callerway have smashed it across the board this year be hard for the others to beat can't wait for your testing with them 😮
I just got a set of Ai smoke this week and are awesome. Way better than mybold Mavrik max.
So, the 4 iron is actually a 3 iron, but will only add 4 yards, in length. Have I got that right?

I would play these and weaken 2°.
That would put them more in line with what I normally hit.

Just had iron fitting and landed on Calloway Ai Smoke HL- feel very soft, great distance, and good dispersion…driver fitting scheduled for tomorrow!!
How are the irons playing. Have you noticed forgiveness with them?
They feel great, very consistent distances (gained 15-20yrds from my old set), happy with them
The clubs are interesting, but I would need the HL version for the additional height. I hit it too low now. Thanks for the review.
I do have my eye on the AI Smoke irons and would be switching from the great Rogue ST Max irons. I hope you help me decide...😉
Just got them yesterday after a fitting: Hzrdus graphite shafts… looks good, premium components, great feel, long and very good price compared to Callaway’s last year’s Paradym irons.
Alex I'm thinking 42% loft on a pitching wedge,is really strong.
My irons are slightly cranked and my 9 iron is 41%
Pw 42% is pure cranked
G430 PW is 41 degrees

@@Tm-eg2lx 7 iron is 28! 🤣 so a standard set will be 6-9 plus PW and AW for £749. GW and SW plus irons longer than a 6 being £150 a club more!

@@HowGoodGolf Yeah i know i was being sarcastic haha been a long time watcher of you're main Chanel, you've helped my game massively over the years :D loving the new channel, reviews are important to us guys watching. its important to hear what someone who we know and trust says about the new gear. I especially need something like this. my driver is very hit and miss still. admittedly i do have old clubs.
Got mine ordered !! I went with project X IO 6.0 shafts , there a mid/ high launch and spin shaft, that should help keep the launch up with the stronger lofted set. I played the same shafts in my paradyms last year, and had great results holding greens and maintaining distance . Also spin rates were text book for me. With an 87mph 9 iron club head speed.

You're playing games with the dispersion number. You would better represent the dispersion by taking the distance from the centerline for each shot, ignoring whether they are left or right, adding those up and determining the average distance from the centerline (your target). Your dispersion chart shows one considerably right, two pretty much on the line, and two moderately left. I would estimate your dispersion from the centerline at 6 yards, just looking at the dispersion plot.
is the only difference between these and the HL versions just the higher lofts in the HL? Are are they bigger and made different - draw bias etc? I prefer a 30* 7 iron which the HL version has.

The back looks really similar to paradym to me? Not sure I see that much of a difference from that standpoint. Love seeing the differences though and interested in how the face changes helped it!

Tighter dispersion is the key period, most all new irons will get you good distance, tightening up the dispersion is the key to lower scores and more enjoyment
Love the look of these irons. Sound way better than Taylormade. I still like pxg the best because you can use the weights to adjust swing weight
When I was a kid my sister took me on the big wheel and rocked it back and forth. I had eaten a big soup for my tea and I leaned over the edge and spewed up on all the passengers below.

These seem to be great looking irons although maybe a little too prone to damage. I have the Max fasts

Yes - better than last year…but those graphics are hideous. The AI SMOKE name should have been molded/stamped into the metal/trim like the Titleist T100/200 and Taylormade P770/790.
The T100/150 have to be the class of irons for looks. I haven’t hit them but they scream class.
@@usa4x4trucks T100/T150 are absolutely amazing irons. But if these are game improvement irons then they're generally not going to compete with T100/T150 in the looks department.
Lovely irons, I hit the 150s in the nets the other day. However, they are not the same genre as the Paradyms, which are more like so-called game improvement irons.@@usa4x4trucks

They feel great, the flighted shafts are amazing. They look great behind the Ball. And help me so much. I have mine Bent 2 degrees weaker for higher ballflight, and i hit it sooo straight

I usually play more of a players iron but these look really good for a game improvement iron. I would be willing to play them in like a Sunday bag or something.

Thank for the video. First impression is they do not look as nice as the original Paradym irons, which are really pretty - just saying. As for more distance, the 7 iron is 28 degrees in the smoke, whereas in last year's iteration it is 29 degrees. Maybe that's why they go four yards further? I would also be concerned with the 'low launch' because us mortals do not have a swing speed of 90mph and without a 40 degree plus decent angle the ball would rocket off firm putting surfaces. Maybe the HL iteration will be better for those with slower speeds at 30 degrees of loft.
are they saying these go 4-5y Passed your playing iron or passed the previous Paradym???? and 20% less dispersion than our playing irons or the previous paradym?? Big difference. almost sounds like they are boarder line, game improvement Irons.

These remind me of the PXG 0211 dc irons, in looks especially, but that aside, they do look great and would love testing them out against the irons mentioned. If the dispersion claims are true, these should sell like hotcakes.

Anyone notice that the “AI SMOKE” graphics make the irons look cheap??? Just add an Upper case “red K” and it reminds me of the Kmart logo.
The Hybrids look great - the graphics are very high end looking. They are stamped/molded into the sole. They look upscale.
I know looks don’t hit the ball, but I have to say whoever made the final call on the graphics really 💩 the bed. So many club manufactures are going with over the top graphics instead of understated class.
