MISTAKE IN THE VIDEO: In Chapter 8 it is not Yellowfang who reveals the absence of WindClan, it is Bluestar who does. Bluestar was on patrol to WindClan and discovered it for herself, then reveals it to ThunderClan.
I HATE to know that Whiteclaw's death was removed! They literally took it as something insignificant that could be scrapped, but it was an Important part! That's one of the reasons why Leopardstar hated Graystripe! Now she's just going to be all "I don't like Graystripe" for no reason???? (Edit: GUYS GUYS. Book one of the GN contains parts of Fire and Ice! Akira is just comparing the events from "Into the wild" here. I'm sure she'll do the same with "Fire and Ice" later. The GN have the parts about Fireheart and Graystripe finding Windclan, and Whiteclaw's dead is totally removed, leaving us with them just telling RiverClan found them and gave them a bad time or something.) BUT- The art is amazing! I love the part where Ravenpaw reveals Tigerclaw killed Redtail and his speech bubbles are part of the lightning! That's so clever!!! Taking into count that they were in a storm, it makes sense that they have to talk louder than normal in order to be heard!
Yes, I haven’t read it yet, but what did Barkface say? The designs are amazing tho I think that Graystripe’s fur should be longer, that Ravenpaw’s ears should be bigger and I actually didn’t liked Sandstorm, Bluestar, Yellowfang, Clawface’s designs at all.
Totally agree!! In that battle also, Fireheart saved Sandpaw's life so it makes sense why she suddenly starts warming up to him. However in the graphic novel it comes out of nowhere due to all this...I'm so bummed they removed that whole scene :')
Just coming in here to remind everyone that it's not the full Fire and Ice in this book, but more like half of it. I believe that information came up in an interview or something? They want to expand on the plot points in Fire and Ice more.
I fully expect the major events of Cinderpaw's injury, Cloudpaw's introduction, and Bluestar's eighth life to be covered in the next volume, but it's still concerning that they haven't been covered yet considering that events from both Forest of Secrets and Rising Storm will need to be omitted in order to make room for them.
What I noticed in the graphic novel: - The only appearance of Rosetail is on page 137 when Blackfoot is breaking into the nursery. - Firepaw's fox sighting is vaguely shown on page 54. - The relationship between Rusty and Smudge is skimmed over. - The narrative refers to the stolen kits as Frostfur's kits. We can see that the rescued kits include: Cinderkit, Brackenkit, Thornkit, and Swiftkit. Swiftkit is Goldenflower's kit. We also see no Brightkit. - Part of Graypaw's humor is cut off. For example, "Now, Darkstripe is neither young, nor pretty!" as well as, "Well, I'm more lopsided than a one-legged badger. I think I'll have to settle for hunting stupid mice. I shall just wander up to them and sit on them until they surrender."
I honestly like how Princess plays a bigger role now in the graphic novel She and Cloudtail were always one of my favorite characters, and I’m glad we get to see more of Princess.
I still find it a bit funny how they completely skipped over Whiteclaw's death in the GN. Like, i genuinely had a chuckel when it went from Windclan to "yay we're back at camp!" with no mention of any battle.
@@C0nfused_CrystalI hope so!! I’m getting worried though because the preview for book 2 immediately jumped into Forest of Secrets. Maybe they’ll combine them in a way?
EYYY! Great to hear the changes and the release of the Graphic Novel! Excited for this new adaptation! Looks gorgeous and the cartoony art just pops so well.
I think they removed Brightkit and Thornkit because in the original, even tho theyre a the same age as Cinder and Bracken, for some weird reason, Bluestar only makes Cinderpaw and Brackenpaw apprentices, which is hella weird cuz that means she made them apps before they were old enough to actually be apps, which makes her the same as Brokenstar (or maybe she made Brightkit and Thornkit apps later than they were supposed to). So they prolly made it that Bright and Thorn are from a different litter and are younger than Cinder and Bracken
@cheese_16 yep, I'm glad they changed it, cuz that makes 0 sense lmao. Plus we got to see more Lynxkit, even though she ended up dying off screen anyway
I preordered it on Amazon like a week before it was released. It was supposed to arrive on July 16 (the day of release) but they ended up delivering it to me on July 15. Not complaining tho, since I got the chance to read it before most people.
I think it could have been stronger if it was just into the wild, and then fire and ice and forest of secrets were combined. I think rising storm could be truncated the most without losing too much, as the most significant event is the fire and Yellowfang's subsequent death
One of the main things I noticed was that they changed Frostfur's kits, but it's most noticeable in the fire and ice section when they are apprenticed so I assume it'll be covered in part two.

I think my biggest problem, which this video showed, was how much character interactions we lost. I understand they gotta shorten things up to show the plot, which is probably first priority. However, I feel we lose so much in terms of character. Whether its the cut scene with Bluestar's lives, the conversations with Yellowfang, her interactions with kits, or ravenpaws' actions. I think sandpaw is a great example too, but her stuff is in Fire and Ice more. They all feel glossed over, and I'm honestly not sure I would've been as invested in the characters in the same way. Im sure it'll come down to preference, but I come to stories and media for characters first. So, losing all that interaction is sad to see. I wish we got a GC for EACH book. That way, we COULD have all those interactions. That GC readers could see all the reasons why these bonds are so loved and the importance they hold. I just hope that it improves in the future and/or videos like this will continue to come out. That way, the gap between the book only readers and GC (graphic novel) readers won't be as big.
I loved this graphic novel personally I think that the illustrators did a good job and this book could actually be read as a placeholder for the chapter books if you don't want to read them Like wings of fire!
I honestly really liked how Into the Wild was handled in the graphic novel, I loved a lot of the character designs and, while some plot points could’ve used a little more page time, like Yellowfang’s development and her friendship with Firepaw, I felt like most of the cuts and edits to the story were pretty reasonable to make the story work better for the graphic novel. I’ll save the bulk of what I have to say about the Fire and Ice adaptation for the video about that, but what I will say is, while it felt very rushed, I have faith that the people working on the adaptations will eventually get into the swing of things and improve as they make more adaptations. After all, I’d imagine it’s pretty hard to somehow condense two whole novels at a time into singular comics at a consistent pace.
Guys I was re-reading my version of the graphic novel and when shadowclans attacking I just realised that frostfur’s say ‘fiahpaw’ and ‘yewwofang!’ In their baby voices, jsut thought u may need this to make ur day better!
It's been awhile since I've watched WC content, and this graphic novel might get me interested in it again. From the sounds of it, I really like the changes. The only changes I somewhat dislike are chapters 9 and 20, but they weren't drastic changes so it's fine. I'm not sure how much it costs, but I'll definitely buy it when I get the chance. This fixes/addresses some issues I had, and has the characters I already liked be more in character. It's like a "definitive edition" of the 1st book.
I personally would have preferred them just doing Into the wild for the first volume then Fire and Ice for the second so on and so forth. I like that Princess is mentioned earlier now and maybe the Graphic Novels could be a better dip your toes in kind of introspection to the series then moving on to the actual books for all the details. Who knows how the rest of the series will be adapted for future volumes.
I really like the graphic novel but I'm really confused that the next one says it covers forest of secrets and Rising storm...this one barely covered Fire and Ice! Are they going to cut out the rest of fire and ice and just skip straight to the next two? My hope is that instead of 3 graphic novels for the first series there's actually 4 so it's paced better. I'm also personally sad we barely spend time with Tallstar and Onewhisker :/
@@Feezee223that's what I figured..but then the next book is barely going to have any rising storm when it's advertised to have Forest of secrets and rising storm. I am skeptical of their ability to fit almost 3 entire books into a >300 graphic novel
They removed rusty seeing a fox. I wish that was included again since it’s forgotten in every warriors fan adaption and I think that really like shows Rusty’s awe at the forest
the graphic novel was great but also why did they remove brightkit, one of the most popular characters in the series who plays a *huge* role in the dog arc??? :( i've been trying to analyze where she'd come into the story (maybe the ash/fern litter but cloudkit was their foster brother and then there's the incest thing, though wc doesn't consider adoption a family relation tbh. then snowkit's whole deal was that when he died his mom had no kits left so she became an elder, plus snow and bramble/tawny litters were kits by the time bracken is a warrior)
I have a feeling some of the missing stuff will be brought up in a past tense type of way. That way it would save more page space for what they have to work with.
Literally, I have the book and I read the whole thing. It’s still kind of good. No wait it’s definitely the best. I’m in love. What are you guys talking about? I know they took away all the deaths and took away a lot of parts, but like it’s still a good book.
2 of the only things I noticed in it was brightkit isn’t in the book and spottedleaf and bluestar doesn’t talk about how dangerous fire is when spottedleaf tells her that fire alone will save the clans. It is weird that removed parts that were in the original book in the graphic novel
I noticed a lot of the changes but my brain couldn’t tell me who the four kits were: I knew the grey one was Cinderpelt and the golden was Brakenfur. I still don’t know who the brown one is and while reading and i made it to the apprentice ceremony and said so loudly: “OH ITS SWIFTPAW” my family was probably so confused 😭. But who is the Brown kit?
I think me reading graphic novels are easier than actual books. I seriously try my best to read at least 1 chapter of a book, but I either get distracted or bored. But when I read graphic novels, comics, or manga, I actually read them. I like reading the graphic novels of wings of fire because I actually read them. I have read some of the Warrior cat graphic novels.
Got a question for you. Im from Germany. Ive read all the books in german or rather listened to the audio books. Im at a starless clan thunder (the latest release in german). Wind releases in february next year but im kinda impatient and thinking about continueing the story and read the next book wind (in english then cuz only way its released rn). However i dont rly know most names of the cats in english and i would have to wait 7 months until i can relisten to it in german while alrdy knowing the story and then also wait a year until the last book star releases (in german atleast). So my question is should i read the latest book "wind" in english rn or wait for the german version which im used to and know the names and stuff. Kinda torn apart cuz id also have to avoid all the spoilers for the next 7 months if i want the true experience and it would be a long wait. Sry if this msg is not structured well and stuff, i just wrote it all without thinking bout making a nice to read text. Also more text than i anticipated😭
read the English version and check the wiki often so you know who is who funny thing is, the books didn't release in my language until this year haHa Lesen Sie die englische Version und schauen Sie regelmäßig im Wiki nach, damit Sie wissen, wer wer ist
@@galaxydeathskrill5607 yeah i also made up my mind by now. I will read it in English and then listen to the audio book when it releases next year. Thanks for trying to help tho🫡
One thing I thought was consistent was the art. To me it seemed like the art never got worse, and maybe even got better. However I do hate they skipped Whiteclaw’s death, Cloudkit, Cinderpelt, and the fight with Graystripe and Fireheart in camp. Apart from Fire and Ice, this book was a dream come true!!
one of the changes that i completely understand is spottedleaf not telling firepaw about the prophecy, for one, she couldn’t really be sure it was firepaw at the time, and i could be wrong because i was told this once but i believe telling prophecies to any cat aside from the leader is against the warrior code? i could be very wrong though
I was so confused when I first read the book and they got their names at nearly the end, because i knew it was supposed to cover into the wild AND fire and ice and this gives fire and ice soooo much less page time! Idk man waiting for pt. 2 bc I’m too lazy to analyze it myselfff
2:32 in the long tail fighting rusty part the removed the part where rusty cut off long tails ear, i was kinda sad the removed that part bc its just iconic to have long tails chipped ear, but they probably did remove it bc it might be to gory,
Some of these changes has absolutely gutted me. Like they kinda ruin the bond Fire and Smudge had. Replacing Smudge for Princess in that scene I feel underplays their bond
All the changes can be forgiven because of the single panel during firepaws training with Bluestar when Bluestar (fruitily) fan girls Yellowfang. (Also giving barely a cannonical mustache)
Random fact: it did slightly change the longtail and Rusty fight in the books Longtail’s left ear gets ripped but they leave that out from the graphic novel
It took forever but i finally got the book. I like the designs but i hate how they completely skipped over rusty and smudges friendship and WhiteClaws death, and barley just randomly leaves without the book acknowledging it i don't like how they kept cutting things out and brightkit wasnt even in the book. otherwise the book was good and the details were amazing!
The first part was so amazing but the second book felt rushed with alot of stuff left out like whiteclaws death cinderpaws accidents and no cloudkit hope the next book will expand more on these no broken star second attack no sandpaw or dustpaws warrior ceremony
if they get to do series 2 of warrior cats the removals section is going to get long (since no sane person will leave in all the faffing about walking from point a to point b when a single page montage will cover it in full)
Idk, I love the art but damn did this thing feel rushed. I don't like that they crammed Fire and Ice into the end, the most I feel could fit would be bringing back WindClan, because Fireheart goes from baby to 2 years old and mentoring Cinderpaw in the blink of an eye. The first Arc of the original books already goes through a lot of time and I felt like the graphic novel just exasperated the issue on speedrunning plot points and not fleshing anything out. Deaths felt super glossed over and nothing.
I like the art but I thought the pacing was really weird and considering I really liked fire and ice I was a bit upset Also I kind of wish the cover was a bit more mysterious
MISTAKE IN THE VIDEO: In Chapter 8 it is not Yellowfang who reveals the absence of WindClan, it is Bluestar who does. Bluestar was on patrol to WindClan and discovered it for herself, then reveals it to ThunderClan.

Are they going to cut out the rest of fire and ice and just skip straight to the next two? My hope is that instead of 3 graphic novels for the first series there's actually 4 so it's paced better.
I'm also personally sad we barely spend time with Tallstar and Onewhisker :/
Maybe there gonna add the rest of fire and ice to forest of secrets?
@@Feezee223that's what I figured..but then the next book is barely going to have any rising storm when it's advertised to have Forest of secrets and rising storm. I am skeptical of their ability to fit almost 3 entire books into a >300 graphic novel
They removed rusty seeing a fox. I wish that was included again since it’s forgotten in every warriors fan adaption and I think that really like shows Rusty’s awe at the forest
the graphic novel was great but also why did they remove brightkit, one of the most popular characters in the series who plays a *huge* role in the dog arc??? :(
i've been trying to analyze where she'd come into the story (maybe the ash/fern litter but cloudkit was their foster brother and then there's the incest thing, though wc doesn't consider adoption a family relation tbh. then snowkit's whole deal was that when he died his mom had no kits left so she became an elder, plus snow and bramble/tawny litters were kits by the time bracken is a warrior)
I have a feeling some of the missing stuff will be brought up in a past tense type of way. That way it would save more page space for what they have to work with.
i wonder if for a potential movie/tv series they will follow the format of the graphic novel of things that were removed/changed.
Literally, I have the book and I read the whole thing. It’s still kind of good. No wait it’s definitely the best. I’m in love. What are you guys talking about? I know they took away all the deaths and took away a lot of parts, but like it’s still a good book.
Under an hour good vid!
9:03 ARE THEY BLUSHING.
No
yes
But who is the Brown kit?
brackenfur? on which page is the brown kit?
@@galaxydeathskrill5607 I don’t remember the number but where Yellowfang is protecting them and Firepaw comes into the nursery
Loved the art in it, so expressive and cute!
We finally know Ravenpaw’s eye color… unless I forgot it.. dun dun.. dun..?
Also more text than i anticipated😭
read the English version and check the wiki often so you know who is who
funny thing is, the books didn't release in my language until this year haHa
Lesen Sie die englische Version und schauen Sie regelmäßig im Wiki nach, damit Sie wissen, wer wer ist
9 mins! Earliest time i ever been here
Not my earliest video i visted how ever
I got upset they put princess with smudge I just think when it was just smudge that was iconic
All the changes can be forgiven because of the single panel during firepaws training with Bluestar when Bluestar (fruitily) fan girls Yellowfang. (Also giving barely a cannonical mustache)
Yay Akira Video!!!
Random fact: it did slightly change the longtail and Rusty fight in the books Longtail’s left ear gets ripped but they leave that out from the graphic novel
Longtail's ear is sliced but horizontally, not vertically (like in most fan art)
❤❤❤❤I know you from sproxy likes warrior cats
I almost thought that swiftkit was brightkit’s brother for a second because they switched them both out, that confused me for a long time 😭
Rosetail is literally mentioned once in chapter 17 in place 195. Rosetail is not even in the allegiances. Reread book 1 of you don’t believe me
It took forever but i finally got the book.
I still need to get the book your doin.
if they get to do series 2 of warrior cats the removals section is going to get long (since no sane person will leave in all the faffing about walking from point a to point b when a single page montage will cover it in full)
Yeah at first when I read the books, I thought sharing tongues was either kissing or them licking eachother 💀
30 sEcOndS aGo yAY
I’m just wondering what they’re going to do for the tiger’star death, because that needs to happen, but it’s really graphic.
I hate the fact that they introduce princess so early.
Is The Graphic Novel Good If You Haven’t Read Any Warrior Books?
I like the art but I thought the pacing was really weird and considering I really liked fire and ice I was a bit upset
Also I kind of wish the cover was a bit more mysterious
without Raven paw's hunting in shadowclan, we dont get any evidence for the rumors
The best part is BUFF SILVERSTREAM!!!
Buff WHO
REALLLL
I don’t really like buff silver stream honestly
The kits are...different? Bright kits gone, swift paw gets apprenticed early I think, and gets stolen.
For the apprenticeing it has Swiftpaw instead of bright paw!
