Deleting the part where tigerclaw sends ravenpaw to hunt on shadowclan is beyond mad it’s the main reason ravenpaw is pushed off the edge with his anxiety and we’ll just overall terror without that it seems like most of ravenpaw is just overreacting for most of the situations
Ofc, true. But when Tigerclaw said "Thanks for saving me. One day I'll help ShadowClan!" when he was a kit, not send his nervous wreck apprentice over there to hunt

They really should have had a graphic novel for each book rather than combining two books for an already rushed story. I can't blame them for wanting to focus more on into the wild, I just wish each book had it's own time to shine

I seriously think that Whiteclaw's death will be in the next book. With Graphic Novel adaptations things NEED to be changed or are changed to flow the story more. I'm guessing they wanna move Whiteclaw's death to when Graystripe is already in Riverclan?
Their probley doing this to not have as many books like theirs a lot of books to cover sp it would go quicker if they went two at a time still would of preferred one for each
I LOVE this graphic novel, but some of the stuff they left out hurts. The battle at the gorge being reduced to a little picture of Fireheart and Graystripe looking embarrassed about it, is particularly painful.
The drawings in the graphic novel are so cool! I never would have knew it was a mix of both into the wild AND fire and ice were in the same book without this!
I saw that Cinderpaw’s accident was removed and just thought that I remembered wrong, as I tend to get the exact timing of things that happened in the second and third book confused (I thought Silverstream died in fire and ice until I reread the first arc).
I think the main thing people are forgetting is that this is technically a newer continuity, things are going to change and be condensed, making graphic novels isn't as easy as typing words up on a page. I knew things would certainly be different the MOMENT i saw Princess included in the preview, i still enjoy it, in fact i actually like that they cut some things, the battle with riverclan at the gorge especially because not only will they likely do Whiteclaw's death later, but it allows Sandpaw to not just start liking Fireheart because he saved her life, she actually gets to GROW AS A CHARACTER NATURALLY. In my opinion, the Prophecies Begin novel is a direct upgrade to the first two books. Treat this as a new, rewritten continuity instead of directly comparing it to the first two books, you'll probably enjoy it more that way.
The problem with the new continuity idea is that the book doesn't create much of its own ideas to account for the faster pacing. The only completely "new" content they added to Fire and Ice was a conversation between Yellowfang and Fireheart about Graystripe. 99% of the book is about bringing events over directly from the original so I don't think it's unfair to judge it based on which events they brought over.
@@deerlyqueery if it was it definitely wasn't the artists/writers fault, they had a year to make this, thats not a lot of time to do something like this
I suspect this is a contracting issue--the company probably told the artists they only had three books to adapt the entirety of TPB, so they're just doing the best with what they have.
Mmmm I admit I think you’re being unfair here. If you want to blame anyone, blame the powers that be that decided they’d only pay the team to adapt 3 graphic novels. I don’t mind listing the changes - on the contrary, I think that’s interesting - but I find fault with this framing. Framing it as the team’s fault for pacing / cutting isn’t fair when they’ve got deadlines / restrictions / page counts to consider. The word I’ve settled on to sum up my thoughts here is “uncharitable.” This video feels uncharitable because it disregards all the limitations they were under and seemingly blames them for their work as opposed to acknowledging the mandated page count / adaptation count limit. To be clear, I think it’s fine to be disappointed by the cuts. But it doesn’t ruin Fire & Ice. On the contrary, it introduces new readers to the series who can now be excited by the changes when reading for the first time.
8:31 im so excited for the 2nd graphic novel, despite how much the first one lacks chapters and has alot more changes and such, it was still fun to read. the art is super expressive and cute
i think the thing to keep in mind is that this series is a retelling and not bar for bar what happened in the og books. it might save us all some heartache 😅
very good break down, ive been tryin to mentally put into words what was missing, though i am hopeful that we will see some of the cut content rehashed in a cohesive way in volume 2
i can't say i dislike speed running the fire gray discourse, it wasn't my favorite section to begin with also leopardfur not having a dead whiteclaw to grieve isn't something i think is actually that big of a deal right now, she's always been short tempered and pretty mean, sure her anger lacks a defined source but i don't think she ever needed one to want to maim and/or kill fireheart and graystripe
Ahh the first series was so good, if only the writing in this book was as good as the art. They should of made the book longer and released it in October
I remember reading the graphic novel and being appalled that the battle where fireheart saves sandpaw was cut. It's such an important part of it i just don't understand
Still haven't found this in the store yet so I'm thankful for review videos. The few places near me that carry books either don't have it or ordered limited quantities and sold out fast.
I'm so happy for this book if it will ever ship to my house 💀 it's been like 11 days and still haven't got it I'm sad about no cloudkit and cinder paws accident not being included though:(
I hope they can include almost all of fire and ice in the next book… (why did they choose to skip the battle at the gorge, cinderpelts injury, and so much MORE stuff. It’s so Annoying…)
feel like this is pretty unfair. graphic novels are very different formats from books, as they just dont have the same amount of time as books do. im sure many of these things will be resolved in one way or another, and otherwise the graphic novel flows well as a story all things considered, despite it not being a one-to-one recreation. an adaptation shouldn't be the same retelling of the story you know, it should stand out as its own creation with a reason to exist and changes that surprise. if you want that same story read the books again. i personally really liked the graphic novel, and this feels its being unnecessary negative towards a good piece of warrior cats media (in your own words), which is something that we should encourage more of. this video just feels pretty trivial, pedantic complaining idk
If you wanted it to not be a one-to-one recreation, you would probably be more upset about the book than me. The only completely new thing added to the Fire and Ice portion of the graphic novel is a single conversation with Yellowfang about Silverstream. 99% of what happens is lifted directly from the original. It's clear the intention is re-creating the book, not doing it's own thing. So I don't think it's unfair to judge it as an attempt to re-create the book. I did the same exact analysis to the Into the Wild portion of the adaptation and came away with a significantly more positive outlook. So I'm not hating on it just because of the format. In fact I think the artwork is beautiful and validates the existence of the adaptation completely on its own.
@@BrightGuardianAkira yeah that makes sense, ig i just didnt come away with that when i watched. its nice to know you enjoy the comic, despite fire and ice being rushed through. critique is its own form of care for a piece of media, the wc fandom knows that well lol

This is an awful way to introduce people if they picked up the graphic novels first (or only) to warriors. 💀 You’re basically asking for ppl who only read the graphic novels to pick fights about what’s canon/right with actual dedicated book readers. Due to all the continuity errors or changes, it’s BOUND to happen. That’s gonna suck hard. They’re setting one audience up for failure imo 😭
If they don't have the Whitecough spread in the full Fire and Ice graphic novel, I'm not reading. The first time I read Fire And Ice, I laughed my head off because I thought Graystripe's cold caused it and if it was his cold, then Graystripe spread his sickness to like a quarter of his Clan. I joked Fire and Ice was about Fireheart and Graystripe's cold for a long time. Lol
I personally like that sandpaw doesn’t need to be saved to start liking fireheart. She can mature and move on without needing him to do something heroic. Love doesn’t need an excuse. Warriors is the kind of series that tends to INSIST that it does, because sooo many characters fall in love because the other cat saved them. But i like it better when there isn’t any reason at all, because it’s closer to the experiences most readers will actually have. Most people just develop crushes for literally no reason.
A relationship can still have depth without needing a super epic backstory “ohh they saved me in battle so i just HADDD to fall in love” that’s such bullshit and i’m honestly tired of it. The graphic novel changing it is such a breath of fresh air
I honestly dont understand what the point of removing PLOT IMPORTANT scenes when making a book into a graphic novel is. It just makes it more difficult for new readers who start with the graphic novels, to understand the actual story and become confused when the missed scenes are mentioned. It also is just really confusing and unnecessary.
I didn't expect a 1-to-1 adaptation but man fire and ice was GUTTED. i would have much rather had a slightly larger or smaller graphic novel with more or non of F&I included than what happened with it.
I never bought the novel yet and I thought they were doing 1 novel = 1 graphic novel. It’s literally the most logical thing they could’ve done. It’s so easy!
I feel like they should have made the graphic novel should have been longer. Although I don't know the behind the scenes so I don't know if that'd be possible
As frustrating as these changes are, as long as the most main points are eventually hit in a way that makes sense for the comic's story and pacing.. the novels will always have more detail, and thats how it will be. As long as once all the adaptation is finished, and it works, I don't mind. Theyre different, and thats okay. (Even though I do really miss the graystripe vs fireheart drama and with silverstream and all)
yeah this. I guess they wanted to save money or whatever cause it makes no sense to combined two books with more than 300 pages into a graphic novel- especially since those are specifically made to be shorter than your average book.
19¾ Removed 6⅓ Same 3⅓ Changed Not entirely sure on the same and changed, but this is a guess from my very tired brain Any corrections will be welcome! (Based only off of this video, not the last one and this combined:3)
Watching this before buying the book!! I must say that regardless, I still am probably going to buy it. I mean, its warrior cats?! Gotta have it!! Although, I do wish they kept some of the major things in without moving them to a separate book or just taking them out completely. That's one of my only complaints other than the fact that I'm not a huge fan of some of the character designs. (Silverstream especially.😭) but that isn't a huge issue for me tbh!! Still gonna buy and hopefully enjoy it anyway =33
TBH it felt so werid to me why they adapted fire and ice if they where going to do it so clumsily but I guess they just really wanted fans to be in awe of buff silverstream
I'm so sad they did not add the part were the the battle happened were whiteclaw died so I guess he's alive or dead and I'm going to assume he's alive...and also THAT BATTLE CHANGED SANDPAW AND FIREHEART. IF THAT BATTLE DIDENT HAPPEN THAT MEANS NO ASHFUR SCENE AND NO JAYxSTICK :(
This novel is quite good and has good ideas to implement into the story. The problem becomes when the novel is used to newer fans and an entry way into the series, but also is set up to where you need to have prior knowledge of the books the novel is adapting. This really hurts Fire and Ice and might be offputting to newer fans sadly. It just feels like the last quarter of the novel has very little flow and connectivity to each other.
Im confused... Wasn't the whole silverstream greystripe in forest of secrets? ❤ And the chapters you just said were removed and changed from forest of secrets and not fire and ice? (no hate just asking)
I just hope this doesn’t ruin fireheart entire character arch.. we don’t need another Disney Star Wars situation on our hands.. fireheart is supposed to be heroic cunning and smart but in fire in ice he just seems like a angry tempered coward..
7:50 I was really annoyed with skipping cinderpaw's accident on the thunderpath because it's a vital point in her character arc! It was the whole reason for her to become a medicine cat instead of a warrior, and for her to eventually come to terms with her injury. The amount skipped in this book just ruined it for me. I feel like it should have been split evenly or made into seperate graphic novels. It would cover way more. I'm glad they are at least including this in volume 2, but it should have been in volume 1.
Wait… CloudKit? Ummm he should be in fire in ice? Did they remove him??? Like what? Also what about the Tigerclaw and Greystripe conflict? Also I hope they put the, into 2
In the into the wild part of the book cinderkit, thornkit, brakenkit, and swift kit get kidnapped brightkit did not. Don’t believe me? Check for yourself
No they didn't. We already have a sneak peek of the second volume, the greencough business will be included in volume 2. Fireheart only learns about Graystripe stuff at the end of the volume. Fireheart deciding to not say anything to Bluestar cuts an unecessery scene, since he will talk to her about it anyway later. You have to remember it's an adaptation. If you expect to read the same thing, just read book 1 and 2.
@@groudonvert7286 I dont expect to read the exact same thing. They forgot even more important stuff than just that. Literally 9/10 warrior cats fans will tell you Fire and Ice was not adapted well and that alot of important scenes and events are missing.
@@FunDipOneDip Yeah, as if 90% of the fans know how they adapt next book. It's clear they'll adapt a few stuff from Fire and Ice in the second book and nobody knows how.

Which book are you reading at the moment?

Not entirely sure on the same and changed, but this is a guess from my very tired brain
Any corrections will be welcome!

I got my first Warriors Novel the other day
Same!!
Congrats
Watching this before buying the book!! I must say that regardless, I still am probably going to buy it. I mean, its warrior cats?! Gotta have it!! Although, I do wish they kept some of the major things in without moving them to a separate book or just taking them out completely. That's one of my only complaints other than the fact that I'm not a huge fan of some of the character designs. (Silverstream especially.😭) but that isn't a huge issue for me tbh!! Still gonna buy and hopefully enjoy it anyway =33
Do you think you could make a tier with side/background characters
Technically it was book 1, and half of book 2, but yk.
I FORGOT CINDERPAW'S ACCEDENT AND CLOUDKIT HAPPENED IN FIRE AND ICE!!
i feel like they should have made the 2nd graphic have some fire and ice why did they not
They can’t just take out the unpleasant and gory parts this is WARRIOR CATS
Why would they make a comic just to remove almost everything important? It has great art tho
“You could just read graphic novels instead of the books, it’s not that much different” .
The void will consume you, be warned. Fear the truth and you may survive. Ignorance is your only chance. I am too far gone
❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓
I do aggree about that. Even though I think the book is awesome I feel bad about Fire and Ice
No worries, it's just half the book, most may come later
I HAVE THIS WHAT-
They didn't ruin it!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU CAN STILL READ FIRE AND ICE!!!!!!!!!
She never said it was ruined tho
I mean, they ruined the Fire and Ice adaptation, but the original novel still exists
TBH it felt so werid to me why they adapted fire and ice if they where going to do it so clumsily but I guess they just really wanted fans to be in awe of buff silverstream
I like fire and ice because it makes the readers know that even the bestest friends can have disconnection and arguement
I'm so sad they did not add the part were the the battle happened were whiteclaw died so I guess he's alive or dead and I'm going to assume he's alive...and also THAT BATTLE CHANGED SANDPAW AND FIREHEART. IF THAT BATTLE DIDENT HAPPEN THAT MEANS NO ASHFUR SCENE AND NO JAYxSTICK :(
Can you make a riverclan tear list it doesn't really matter what positions your choice ❤
YAY NEW VID
cloudkit left the chat-
bye bye my favourite book
So is it normal that my book has no part 2?
Just does Into The Wild, then skips to "Part Three: Graystripe's Secret"
This is almost like the Rings of Power, but it's Arc 1 Warriors instead. Disgraceful.
Under a minute!
same >:D
2/3RDS OF THE BOOK GOT BONKED
Hey idk if you know this but the rest of fire and ice is being told in the next book
Wait… CloudKit? Ummm he should be in fire in ice? Did they remove him??? Like what? Also what about the Tigerclaw and Greystripe conflict? Also I hope they put the, into 2
They rushed fire and ice im glad their doing more in rhe second book bc they left so much out
Before 2 minutes! 🎉🎉🎉
In the into the wild part of the book cinderkit, thornkit, brakenkit, and swift kit get kidnapped brightkit did not. Don’t believe me? Check for yourself
They just forgot so much important stuff, it’s insane.
Cool!
10:10 😭😭
Ik this is UN related BUT, I have a idea for a challenge video, how about warrior cats at the fun fair?
I love the art but damn, Wings of Fire handled their graphic novel adaptations 10x better.
Strong pumpkin 42
4:10 that’s making me disappointed.
UNDER A HOUR!!!🎉
before 5 mins!
I loved the graphic novel but I have to admit fire and ice felt a little rushed
Because he loves to meddle in *everyone’s* buisness
*HOT TAKE* !!!!! graphic novel sucks! The art is nice, yeah I rally like it:) BUT THE STORY IS JUST UUUUGGHHHH! Why did they ruin the story that much?? I’m done with this series!! For me the series started to be kinda bad when I reed new propheci, but when I reed power of three… no just no. When I heard that Moonpaws parents would be cousins…and when this graphic novel came… sorry for my English,I’m just so pisseddddd!! oh and if someone is mad at me for this “bullshit” then im sou sovvy😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 boooo boooo
Yippie! (Chain here!)
For the graphic novel
yippeee 🥳🥳
i mean lets be honest. out of the first arc, FAI is the weakest. Im not really surprised but i did like this book alot and i liked the 3 battle parts
