It’s always wonderful to see Elena competing. She truly was amazing. But, it is equally sad to see what appears to be unhappiness in Elena’s face, even when she smiles her eyes are sad. I hope that there was something in her life that brought her true joy, something that she had for her very own.
Incredibly special beautiful lady, Elena is so loved and if they is such a thing as her looking down up on us all. I hope shes smiling and feeling the love that she truly deserves ❤ lets keep her legacy alive.
This video makes me sad 🥺 it's beautiful but it breaks my heart 💔. The night is dark and cold, yet again i know that Elena's star is there, above us, bright, glittering ✨ look at it in the night sky 🎑.. And it will never leave, it will not fade, forever it will be with us and the darkness will never overcome it, because the star is Lenocka's soul..forever in our hearts 💖
Thank you for your kind words! I am sorry that it makes you feel sad. I don’t mean it. I myself gotta used to it already and made it without knowing that it may be too heavy for some audience🙏🏻
@@elena_mukhina_flip It's okay, life is like that.. Someone calls it for a long time, someone flashes and goes out, Elena's life was certainly not in vain.. When you beautify the world with your very existence, how great and important is that 🌺💖
@@elena_mukhina_flip I understand you completely.. This story is an emotion, otherwise it would be just another sad story from sports 😕 if i go to Moscow, as i plan to do so, at the end of this year or the beginning of next, I will definitely make time to find Elena's grave and pay my respects, tribute to Great Champion 😔🙏🌺♥️ I'm sorry I didn't do it before
I saw several documentaries about Elena. Back then when she was competing the USSR had exceptional athletes that were top notch. However, the pressure to stay on top was tremendously excessive. The prestige that came with being a coach to such an athlete like Elena made some coaches careless about the risks they put their athletes into. Elena was not completely healed from an injury to her leg when her coach wanted her to do the jump that permanently paralyzed her for life. She was a victim of the sport machine that cared more about the glory and privilege that came with all that. Elena had lost her parents and was taken care of by her grandmother. She was an amazing athlete and such a special courageous] young lady. May she rest in peace.
The infamous Thomas salto had been mastered by teammate and friend Elena Davydova, who went on to become the 1980 Olympic Champion with that fabulous FX routine. There was a huge pressure on Elena Mukhina to master that salto. As well, Elena's weak leg after it was broken and not healed correctly, prevented her from landing the full-twisting double back first pass correctly. Coach Klimenko and others thought the diving front roll Thomas salto would be easier on her weak leg. However the danger was going into the dive without the right control, breaking the neck. Elena was trying to prevent injury to her weak leg, didn't do the dive with enough power, and landed on her chin. That was all it took for life-long paralysis. I read that she thought with enough time and special training, she would walk again (like a Russian circus acrobat with a similar injury), but this was never to be. :(
