When Olga Korbut performed the dead loop (Korbut's flip) in 1972, it seemed that nothing more extreme could be done on uneven bars. Elena Mukhina showed to the world that it is possible, performing that loop again but combined with a full twist (a pirouette). Since then this acrobatic figure has been banned due to high risk of serious injury. She was the most talented and graceful gymnast of all time. So shy, humble but yet so powerful. Such a tiny girl with great potential and perspective for the future which was wasted so carelessly. We will love and remember you forever.
I love watching her. Its sad,she was treated so wrong. She was a beautiful young gymnast. I would have loved to seen her in Olympics . .Elena, honey you will never be forgotten. I hope you are at peace now.

Very nice and gentle video ❤️ just like Lenocka was 🌺 congratulations 👏 in 2000 Putin visited Elena in her apartment, but I couldn't find a single photo, so they probably weren't even taken 🥺 maybe it's better that way, who knows. .The quote at the end of the video was partialy written on the wreath he sent to her funeral "in life you are a champion, in death you are a hero" 😞💖🌠 this little girl for some reason, is still in the hearts and minds of many of us, I think we people just feel that she was a pure soul, completely uncorrupted nature, and yet again with such a difficult fate .. That leaves a deep mark on us,and it can't be undunned, I'm glad you posted a nice video for this big anniversary 👏🌺🥇🤸 and still Her star shines brightly 💖🌠 and forever will be

This is much better done than other videos where they talk without showing sources and make up things due to the hate of the soviet union. I like a lot the newspaper article and her interview, it´s the real she, it´s herself, talking. And the japanise man that happened the same to him and send her a book was emotional. I searched about him but there isn´t much information. Thanks a lot, I´ll go on watching, haven´t finished yet.
Thank you for your comments. I read a lot about her in the past 2 years. Some materials are statements of opinion rather than statements of fact. She was granted Olympic order and some other medals after the incident. The government had provided medical and other financial supports. The major problem is that no one needed to be personally liable or even make a public apology for her injuries.
