    The vibrant cyan-blue faceplate is for sure my fav color for such iems.
    They nailed the design overall (recessed 2pin, ergonomics, softer resin finish) and got a great idea to have various color choices.
    The price for ENDGAME level audio might be now what this is sell at when you don't want to have a collection.

    Dave, try your Tri Clarion tips that you used on the Chopin review on these. Hype 4 is slightly hotter than my Hype2, so your mileage may vary, but for me the Tri tips' wider bore (compared to the medium bore supplied that you used) opened up the vocals a little as well as a bit more sense of air.

    Imo it's best to compare or at least mention if there are any cheaper iems that match or exceed (especially in technicalities). We watch these reviews to help with purchase decisions. That's the only way we know if something is worth the price.
    Some notable iems in the price range and cheaper are Chopin, Hype 2, and Tanchijim Origin.
    Basically if it beats all those then it's definitely worth the price.

    • @TheHonestAudiophile

      Sorry haven't heard the Hype 2, Origin and the Chopin is in for review along with 35 other products for review.

  • @nicholasm9280
    @nicholasm9280 3 месяца назад +2

    Hey Dave, I know you already compared these to the xenns top. What I'm asking is if they sound different enough to be a side grade to them. I love my xenns top and wonder if these are similar but more of a side grade for better detail and more controlled bass like you said the hype was. I expect then to sound similar like you said but is the different enough to not feel like I bought the top twice?
    Sounds like the hype is like the top but a little less bass rumble exchanged for more control and detail in certain areas which I'd love

    • @TheHonestAudiophile

      They are more similar than not. If you want more neutral leaning presentation than the Top the hype 4 will provide that but both have the fun side.

    Thanks so much for the review! This was exactly what I’ve been looking for since I’ve been meaning to upgrade my Chopin to either the Studio 4 or the Hype 4. I’m pretty sensitive to sibilance so have you noticed any differences in their proneness to sibilance?

      Tough comparison. The Ananda is larger sound overall, the bass is more linear, mids are more elevated and forward and the treble has more bite and crispness. Thanks for your informative review! I´m going to purchase another pair of hybrid IEMs and I´m between these, the YANYIN CANON 2s and the ZIIGAAT DOSCINCOs, which are a bit cheaper, but have about the same driver configuration as the HYPE 4s. I prefer a good amount of quality bass (subbass and midbass), not too much recessed mids, resolving but inoffensive higs and an overall coherent (musical?) sound signature. Imaging and soundstage should be at least adequate at the price point. Genrewise the IEMs should match with modern genres (EDM, Rock, Pop...) as well as Jazz and classical soundtrack.

    I received them this june, actually I did receive 2 sets of different batches (one purchased in feb2024 and one I brought new in june).
    The sound of the june model (ref B-xxxx) does come a bit more layered in the midbass and less rumbly in the subbass. It's perceid as more technical and analytical (kilobuck sounding to me as I'm not used that layering all across the board).
    The one from Feb2024 has more subbass perceived presence (+5% maybe) with a bit less midbass layering. This one got that subbass focus first time you listen them(it wont impact gaming).
    I don't know if this is due to driver burning or not.
    Midrange and treble seemed fine also I wasn't sure if I could pick up the technical differences with something like the sliivo SL41 but apparently there is some differences and added nuances min the treble, in timbre and layering although depending on the audio it can be marginal.
    Having to return one set I decided to let go of the earlier batch. (ref A-xxxx something)

      @@TheHonestAudiophile does it also have better transient/dynamics and imaging than the hype 4?
      is there a iem you would recommend over these ones for studio mixing/mastering work?

      Westone Mach 60 is my reference IEM.
      Yes, Studio 4 better transient/dynamics and imaging than the hype 4? The Hype 4 is more fun than reference but is an okay IEM for monitoring.

      @@TheHonestAudiophilehi brother, my impressions are not the best .. to be honest I’m really upset with sound quality for live performance .. when I first got them I was really excited and try them on with my i pad.. honestly I was surprised how good they sound when this iem are used just for enjoying music .. but live performance was a total mess .. kick drum and voice had a lot of distortion.. highs are not the best for clarity.. I had to go back to my old iem juicy earz which are less expensive and only have 5 drivers and are way more more more better… I tried to return them but not worth it because they will charge me shipping .. and restocking fee..

    vs. JQ Audio 4U Pro?

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  5 месяцев назад +2

      JQ 4U Pro is more neutral and analytical and the Hype 4 has more of a fun lean. 4U Pro has little more air, space , slightly less note weight, similar detail retrieval and resolution. The 4U Pro is a stage monitor thru and thru.

      Haven't heard the B3 since reviewing. If memory serves me correctly the B3 has more upper mids and treble emphasis, Sorry that's all I recall at this time.

    Beautiful IEM, wanted to keep it but it has chewed up treble. Sticking with my trifecta: EM6L, Variations, and IE600.

    I got blon bl03 after looking at your review and they sound absolutely trash and harsh with metal music or any rock that has drum sounds with distorted guitars, it's just painful in the treble as if it distorts.

    • @TheHonestAudiophile
      @TheHonestAudiophile  24 дня назад

      Well the Blon 03 has been out for 4 years or so. Technology has improved mightily aling with my source gear, preferences and beliefs. My impressions of the Blon 03 isn't the same as it was back when I did the review. I agree it has harsh resolution especially on poorly recorded music. I'm sorry you don't enjoy them. Thanks for the impressions.
