Beautiful area... you are very adventurous with driving on sand ... even with a nice truck, I would have been concerned... I watched the tide come in and nearly wash a vehicle away before anyone could tow it back... it's crazy stuff... I almost got stuck in the sand once so now I am super nervous! Great video!
What a camping spot! What medium did you mostly use to find your camping spots while traversing Baja? Compendium, The dyrt, etc? And….what a score with the Playa Hawaii! What a great place to go relax! And….a mobile drink guy, to boot!! Did you get the impression that you could just camp on the beach there (of course, having to be careful with a heavy trailer on the sand)?
I usually use Google Maps in satellite mode. I wouldn't try to take my trailer down on the soft sand. I think I would get stuck even airing down the tires
Thanks, Campervan are way above our price range and since we will be living in or trailer for possibly several years they would not be very comfortable. We needed something with a separate bedroom with a door because I get up 5 hours before Esperanza, and a full kitchen and bathroom. A campervan would be very nice for a trip through Baja camping on the beach.
You access the beach from highway 5 a couple miles north of San Felipe. Playa Hawaii is shown on Google maps and you can find it and then find where to get off the highway. There are a bunch of roads that go from the highway to the beach in that area and many of them will probably make it down to playa Hawaii

We do it all the time. As long as you deflate the tires you are good to go.

The waves on the Gulf of California are very small and I haven't seen any sneaker wave like you see on the Pacific side.
