    Like the drive around the town at the beginning to see the different type of houses available in the town. Food looked great, wondering what the bill was. Your lovely, relaxed videos are a joy to watch.

      Thanks Michael! Nice town. Don’t remember the cost of dinner but I know it wasn’t bad. I imagine that it was around $30-40usd for the two of us. Keep in mind that the Baja Peninsula is more expensive than mainland Mexico. Hope that you’re having a great week! 😎

    Nice production.............visit, I would like to live there. Did not see any trash, homeless, blue plastic tents. Sick of the States. Like the 1980's stereo cabinet in your hotel room. Loved seeing your dog at the lunch table in the baby carriage.

    • @GeneandRenee
      @GeneandRenee  8 месяцев назад +1

      Robert thanks for watching our adventures on RUclips. We appreciate you! I fully understand bro! You do see some trash (mainly in the cities) but no worse than I see other places. No where near the graffiti I see in the states. None of the homelessness and tarp tents until you get near the border in Tijuana. The only time we see folks begging is if they are without legs or extremely old and arthritic. Ginny (our fur baby) loves that in Mexico she is welcome most everywhere. I’m sure that the politicians in Mexico are corrupt but at least they don’t pretend that they’re not (like north of the border).
      Hope that you’re having a great weekend my friend! 😎 Hopefully I’m getting better in production in our episodes. 🙂

    Only way to get a cold shower is to take one in the early morning. As far as cold water to drink, we have a 5 gallon jug which goes to a watercooler. The water we have delivered to our home's cistern (2000 gallon) and is intended for the bathrooms and cleaning as it's a little brackish.

    San Felipe has many great memories for me. It's been 40 years since the summers i spent there. great vid. What is the Spanish song you used?

      @GeneandRenee  7 месяцев назад

      Hi! Thanks for watching! So glad we could help bring back good memories for you. I don’t remember what music I used in that episode. Recently I started putting the songs titles and artists in the “more” comment section of the more recent episodes. Sorry that I had not thought to do that earlier. Renee and I hope you have a wonderful week! 😎

    I love how you take your dog with you! I would like to start taking my dog with me to Mexico as well. Just wondering if you could give me some requirement information to take your dog to Mexico as well as bringing your dog back from mexico. Really do appreciate it and trying to figure this out and getting all kinds of conflicting information. Thank you

      Thanks Peter! Other than the oppressive heat 🥵of the summer I think you’ll enjoy it. My personal preference would probably be La Paz for the amount of restaurants and stores but San Felipe is definitely nice. We wish you the very best and much happiness! 😎

      Elisabeth I apologize for not putting the “music used in this episode” in the “More” section beneath the title. I try to do that now for all videos but wasn’t doing it at the time of that episode. Unfortunately it means that I don’t remember. I agree, it is a very pretty song! Hopefully I will use it in a future episode and remember to put it in that “More” section. Thank you very much for watching our channel and joining us on the Journey! We hope you’re having an awesome weekend!! 😎

    I moved to San Felipe 3 years ago. 10k expats live behind gates, 10k locals live in town. We have fiber optic cable, and supermarkets, 90 miles to the border. My new furnished house costs me $400 a month by the malecon. Please, its Fay-LEE-pay

      Marcia, thank you for sharing! It sounds like you are definitely living a good life!! I usually learn many months after visiting a location that I have been pronouncing it wrong. 😑 I just learned 2 weeks ago that I’ve been mispronouncing a city in Michigan for 45 years!! Evidently I’m a very slow learner! Hope you’re having a fabulous week! 😎

    Is there a full coverage insurance you can buy to cover your car while in Mexico?

    • @GeneandRenee
      @GeneandRenee  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Kim! We used Expat Insurance (www.expatinsurance.com) while on the mainland and Baja Bound (www.bajabound.com) while on the Baja peninsula. There are plenty of other ones too and you should see some talked about in Facebook expat groups but those are the two we used. Can’t swear by them as we never needed to file a claim. Our residency is South Dakota so we’re able to cancel then reinstate with our SD agent (State Farm). This way we’re not paying for USA coverage while we’re in Mexico since it doesn’t cover you once you cross the southern border. Some states require you keep your USA coverage even if you’re not in the USA for 11 months a year…ridiculous! Thanks Kim for watching our video adventures and joining us on the Journey! 😎

    Un comentario...en español...con todo respeto...todos los turistas extranjeros (Gringos) son bienvenidos a México 🇲🇽...pero últimamente se estan comportando PREPOTENTES y muy delicados e irrespetuosos... respecto a nuestra idiosincrasia mexicana ...nos gusta la música...la BANDA...La música Norteña y el MARIACHI...en la playa, restaurante...etc...Y algunos GRINGOS quieren que las autoridades retiren a estos grupos musicales...y esto Nos esta MOLESTANDO...A LA TIERRA DONDE FUERES HAZ LO QUE VIERES...y si no les agrada ,no les gusta...NO VENGAN...Entre los individuos,como entre las Naciones,el derecho al respeto ageno es la PAZ...BENITO JUARES... presidente de México 🇲🇽. .. saludos.👍
