    Actually really insightful tips, some I wasn’t even aware of. Really liked how you explained each part in-depth with an actual reason instead of using a phrase of “I used to work for Apple” as I’ve seen some other creators do.

    Great video bro so I have a question about the Baking soda and vinegar apps. So I got them after listening to this video, and enabled everything that AI was suppose to on my iPhone 14 plus. However, when I am going into RUclips videos, I am still getting adds. Everything is enabled. Is their anything i need to do more or just let the apps run their course. I am still seeing adds that I was seeing even RUclips adds before i even downloaded the apps. If you could pease let me know what more I need to do that would bee great.

      @@Slimothy yes. I did but,, I did enter just like what I would do in RUclips. I was watching videos from RUclips, and adds kept popping up, so what I may need to do then is just go through Safari. All the extensions are added big time hahaha. Any other pointers just let me know. I will take it to heart. Thanks man!!

    • @Slimothy
      @Slimothy  Год назад +1

      @@benjaminbrown5245 Yeah man as long as you’re in Safari on RUclips’s website it should work just if it’s enabled. You might have extensions disabled in private browsing if you’re in private mode. If that doesn’t work reach out to the devs they’ll be able to help. If you install the adblockers I mentioned in the video and enable them, those will also block the ads so you technically wouldn’t need vinegar or baking soda

    Hey Slim! Gotta question for ya. I use my phone as a hotspot as I’m remote and there’s no wifi available. What’s using more of my battery than that is something called “Web”. I don’t have an app by that name- any idea what that could be and what I should do? Thanks!

    • @Slimothy

      Not true. Anyone who told you that is a liar. I know of 1 big RUclipsr who says it and it’s disgraceful. I kept significant location off for 5+ years and OBC always worked. I recently turned significant location back on and OBC still works as well. So it makes no difference if it’s on or off. OBC will work either way.

Usually just pressing the side buttons in a particular order it’ll say Slide to Power Off. Slide it. Wait 5 mins. Then hold the side button again and it’ll boot back up

    The most pro tip to max your battery life - accessibility-touch-vibration and turn it off.

    • @Slimothy
      @Slimothy  Год назад +1

      If you turn that off you'd probably have to keep notifications on for most of the apps and keep sounds turned on. I agree vibration turned off will save battery life, but at the cost of possibly missing notifications when on Silent. Me personally, I keep my phone on silent 24/7 so that would be a no-go.

    Not many people know this, but apples privacy is a complete lie, absolutely everything is being tracked and monitored and you can only limit it, not fully stop it, if I wanted to limit it more I would disable all location services, but even then, do you trust that they are disabled?

    • @Slimothy
      @Slimothy  Год назад +2

      You can use wireshark and other network/packet sniffing tools to see what is and isn’t being transmitted if you’re worried or don’t trust Apple.

  • @RespiteofChampions
    @RespiteofChampions Год назад

    "Close apps you're not using"? NOOOOOO. Absolutely not. That kills so much more battery than if you were to keep them open in the back. You mean to tell me just keeping them open in the background kills more battery than your phone having to reload the entire application from scratch every single time you open it? Nope. Keep them all open, believe me.

    • @Slimothy
      @Slimothy  Год назад +2

      Unfortunately Dorian, that is not the case. For most people, closing the apps is going to save on battery as well as preserve privacy. I’ve run Wireshark and other network monitoring tools and found that even apps that were not open in the foreground continue to submit data to various servers. This wastes battery life and can compromise your privacy. Closing the apps stops this. Especially location based apps! They continue to use the GPS chip even when you’re not using the app. Google Maps and Waze are prime examples. CLOSE THESE always, when finished. On top of this, opening a well-optimized app does not take as much battery life as most other RUclipsrs want you to believe. Trust me, I’ve built a few myself and you can monitor battery usage within XCode. Unless you’re literally closing the app, and within 10 seconds, opening the same app, (which would be a pretty dumb thing to do), it’s recommended to just close the apps. It’s easier for everyone to follow. Whenever someone has a problem with their phone one common denominator is that they’re clueless and have 50+ apps open at once. Craziness. Data mining companies LOVE them.

    • @RespiteofChampions
      @RespiteofChampions Год назад

      @@Slimothy If people followed your previous tips, and turned off their location services for apps that don't need to have them on, then your whole point about the apps continuing to take your data even in the background is pointless because you would've already turned that feature off, plus you have the whole "Ask app not to track" pop up that comes up every time you open an app for the first time. Having those two things combined means that even in the background, apps won't constantly be submitting your data anywhere because they won't have access to it. Therefore, you can keep the apps open in the background without risk and save a ton of battery life. Speaking from experience here.

    • @Slimothy
      @Slimothy  Год назад +1

      @@RespiteofChampions That is also wholly incorrect. I am hoping you’re making this up and not getting this info from another RUclips channel lol. If they turn location off for most apps that’s fine. The ones they keep location ON are still an issue. If you use them you must close them otherwise it continues to waste battery and uses your GPS chip. So you’re wrong there. And “ask apps not to track” has nothing to do with that. You need to go to Apple’s website and read what that does. It simply forces the apps to not use a unique identifier to track your behavior across other apps. It does not stop trackers at all. Apps can use IP trackers and other cookies all they want 🤣 I work in cybersecurity and cyber forensics for a day job so this is very basic stuff to me. Funny when random kids with RUclips accounts start spewing random comments with false info. It’s not good for anyone bro! Listen to the pros.
