    Like the channel man! Love NHL hockey classic theme in the background haha. I would shoot to keep Heinen, Maroon. Good third/ 4th line guys. Heinen can play up too. I'd go for Burtuzzi. Go for Lindholm or Necas. Let Jake and Co walk. With thr Cao space they should be able to sign what I mentioned. Than, trad Ully to Ottawa as projected for Chychrun + pick pick.

    Ullmark for Necas makes a lot of sense for both teams imo. Then sign Lindholm as the #1 center and we’re ready to compete for the cup again

    My biggest fear is in the desperate need for a centre, Lindholm ends up a long term overpay.

    Regarding Swayman, it seems like people are really worried about him getting too expensive, but as far as cap %, the $7M/year Tuukka got in 13-14 would be about $9.6M now. So even if Sway comes in over $8M, I don’t think that’s a huge problem

      Couldn’t agree more. It’s not his fault Sweeney decided to low ball him last year. Now he deserves to get paid just like McAvoy and Pasta did

      Rask's contract was a problem for a pretty good portion of it. His backup's outperformed him in what each of his last 3 seasons? The fanbase loved the guy but frankly when Timmie was done Rask was already trending down. When the Bruins have been at their best goaltending wise it's always been with more of a true tandem. They haven't historically done well with a true starter. I'd like to see Swayman take less, and Ullmark agree to an extension and do the same. Sway at 6 and Ullmark at 3 going forward to keep them together both with full no moves both long term is how I'd like to see it go.

    • @bruinsdiehards
      @bruinsdiehards  Месяц назад

      In a perfect that would be awesome but I do not see it happening. Oh, how I miss conversations. Goaltending in Boston always seems so polarizing. I think the Rask 2019 Cup was one of the best we have seen in a Spoked B but in the end, they didn't get it done and will live with his legacy forever.

    If it were up to me, I'd trade for Necas and sign Elias Lindholm. Immediate upgrade on offence. Keep Forbort (good on PK) for cheap. However, do the Bruins have the assets to trade for Necas, other than Ullmark? There are rumors of Ottawa offering Chychrin and a 1st rounder for Ullmark, which seems pretty decent. Also...next year Drisatl is a UFA...

    Let's try to make hockey great again. Rules are rules, you can't stretch them or tolerate them you must impose them.
    NHL is the only Pro sport with 2 sets of rules and regulations. One for the season, then no rules for playoffs. It's not serious

    The Bruins don't need depth at center. The Bruins have a ton of depth at center. Coyle, Zacha, Geekie, Frederic, Boqvist, Beecher, Merk, Fariniachi. The Bruins need a 1c. That's not depth that's the opposite of depth. Arbitration is a matter of public record. Swayman's ask was 4.8 and he wanted 5 years. The Bruins countered with a show me contract of 2 for 2. The award was 3.475 and the Bruins had the right to ask for 2 as Swayman started the process but did 1 as it was Swaymans preference. Which is closer to the Bruins offer than Swayman's ask. If Swayman decides to punish them now and asks for like a max term deal of 7m or more that's going to be rough. I think they'll do 7. I don't think they could afford to do more. Especially for a guy who at this point still hasn't actually won anything. Not individual awards, not a cup.
    As it stands right now Ullmark is a pretty big point of leverage. He is a Vezina winner, he did play better post allstar break than Sway. He is under contract at a reasonable hit for a guy who's been a top 10 netminder each of the last 3 seasons. It's funny because people keep talking about it like Ullmark screwed the team over blocking a trade. When in reality he probably did them a huge solid. Especially if the Bruins were going to do something enormously dumb like take on PLD's bloated terrible contract.

      Thank you for this very long but thought-out response. What they ask for in ABR vs during contract talks are two different things, but you’re right. The arbitration is a public record. As mentioned in the video, we 100% agree that trading Ullmark for possibly PLD would have been a colossal mistake. We will see what happens this offseason, though, and you are right. We used the wrong choice of words because they have depth at the center but need a number 1. Wasnt a fan of the center position and also don't think it can be solved via free agency. Truly appreciate the input. Love the conversation

    Umm… the Bruins centermen DID miss a step, a HUGE step, in the faceoff circle, they were terrible, especially in the playoffs.

      Coyle has one of the best faceoff win rates in the league and the playoffs. They truly missed Bergeron, but he can't be replaced.
      Coyle was 14th in the league during the regular season for faceoff wins and 7th in the playoffs still. C’mon man, do your homework

      One team has four centers, but players can also be called up. I’m not saying Coyle is the next coming of Jesus, but I think your math is wrong. I also mentioned in the video they matched the production of two players at the end of their careers, and the center needs an upgrade.
