i think social background wouldn't matter as much if that person is ambitious. i mean especially for girls who are family oriented, if they can see that the guy is willing to work from ground up & it's obvious that their work ethic is really outstanding then they wouldnt mind dating & eventually even marrying the guy even if he comes from a background of lower social status. number 1) her dad would know that when they eventually get married or have kids and what not he would be rest assured that this man would never let his daughter & their kids go hungry by hook or by crook 2) she knows he is a responsible guy who will eventually go places and has high potential in moving up the social ladder. on the other hand a man or woman born into wealth but only knows how to spend it like tap water & not value it can end up destroying themselves & their partner & their future together. for a guys perspective on the other hand i cant really comment on cos im not a guy lol. feel free to correct me if im wrong, but from personal experience guys tend to perceive girls more visually as in whether theyre attractive or not etc. so i think for a lot of guys social background doesnt matter as much however it can matter where parental approval is concerned...
