They do. Only the closest in your family, and your family need to make a call to prison to announced the death of tbe inmates next of kin. After that they have to come and "bail" you out to attend funeral while wearing the prison jumpsuit and shackles and guards bringing you and escort you to the funeral for 1 and half hours but only limited communications allowed with another cloaest family member. After that they will bring you back to prison.
"During the first few weeks, prisoners must spend 23 hours in their cell to reflect on past actions. They can use the remaining 1 hour to use the iKiosk to checkup on administrative requests" - That has got to be the most Singaporean way to run a women's prison... The only way you could make this more Singaporean is if inmates can use the iKiosk to write formal complaints directly to members of parliament.
I read somewhere... If most of our society didn't opt for the so called "masculine" methods we would have been better... Because what is the ideal "feminine" quality...it has the power of changing millions... I don't want to start a gender war here...I just want to say that throughout the ages.. feminine quality is "tenderness, soft nature, sympathy, empathy" These things are very powerful
I also read somewhere... if most of our society didn't opt for the so called "masculine" methods, we would've been still living in grass huts. I don't want to start a gender war... just wanted to say that masculinity & femininity are the 2 wings of the same bird. You're a fool to think otherwise
Eye opener documentary. And am surprised that the prison look like private schools or team building centre in some countries. It's so clean, tidy, and the people are calm and polite. It's different from what I always imagined.
I wish that it could be like this in the states maybe someplace where inmates go before they are able to go home, so it can slowly get them use to not always having to be on their guard. That way the transition from incarceration to being free could possibly be smoother. At this time they can have more access to being able to get a job and already sign up for other support groups etc. They need to experience a calm environment before they are released. Like maybe their last year of incarceration could be at a facility that is similar to that.
The recidivism rate is probably lower too. I would've thought that their prison system would be bad, but it's a good idea. These women are getting help, unlike some American and other prisons, where they're released into society completely unprepared for the outside world. There called correctional facilities, but this women's prison is just that, they get help to change what got them in prison. That's what a prison should do, because the recidivism rate would be lowered to a greater extent than what is currently.
I might be wrong because of how media portrays inmates, but I love how there’s no shouting, yelling, slamming of doors etc... like it’s calm in this prison.
Rosq Chan The inmates are pretty tame. Most of the crimes they commit aren't violent, usually something to do with money.

I know same here,, why the f would you let a criminal out of it’s cell for 1 hour let alone 1 hour a day
@@mudsliemuddy2338 Its actually the norm in prisons, even in the US they only spend 23 hrs in their cell
@@dawnn2269 I’m so confused you think prisoners should never leave their cells???
@@beepbeep9043 im replying the previous comment hello, read it
Let meh reply this, OTAKU can't even see the difference right XD
thank u singapore officers for being so nice to them. they are all deserve love and care. together we can help make the world a better place. we all made mistakes.
The inmates have so much luxury like catching up with the news..im suprised of the way inmates spend their time wisely
Wow! This made me cry 😢 I believe many of these women will be rehabilitated!
The guards are all kind & sweet. Kudos to Singapore.

"WEEEEE"
thats adorable
Omg the officers are so kind they are nicer than my teachers at school

8:26 officer cross road when red man is flashed 😂
Don't Singapore jails allow for furlough so that the inmates can attend funerals or whatnot?
I see humanity .... full respect to the Singaporean nation
I want to know more about how prison works
Go in and experience it yourself. haha
YE TH LOL , I'm not a inmate
google is your best friend, perhapes, you can be more specific of what you keen to know
This is dealing with them holistically, very healing in mind body and soul.
P
Soooo nice n pleasant, the relationship between prison officers n inmates! 👍👏👏
I read somewhere...
If most of our society didn't opt for the so called "masculine" methods we would have been better...
Because what is the ideal "feminine" quality...it has the power of changing millions...
I don't want to start a gender war here...I just want to say that throughout the ages.. feminine quality is "tenderness, soft nature, sympathy, empathy"
These things are very powerful
I also read somewhere... if most of our society didn't opt for the so called "masculine" methods, we would've been still living in grass huts.
I don't want to start a gender war... just wanted to say that masculinity & femininity are the 2 wings of the same bird. You're a fool to think otherwise
@@SR-qu9mp yes, and therefore they need to be coordinated and in sync, so they cannot be divided.
This is the most clean prison i've ever seen.. Much respect!
This actually looks like a Singapore primary school
😂😂
(・o・)
everybody was so clean and polite, good luck to them
Why do you not talk about these same women who serve their sentence, are back in society and can't find work?
@@metaldogsg And you're on an American website, trying to "cause trouble".
You both, stop.
Eye opener documentary. And am surprised that the prison look like private schools or team building centre in some countries. It's so clean, tidy, and the people are calm and polite. It's different from what I always imagined.
This can be fake only
6:22 lmao the sign on the door uses one of PowerPoint’s default presentation slides
5% murderers and 95% chewing gum smugglers inside that prison haha
Wow - Singaporean prisons are MUCH better than those in the US!
Why I feel like women’s prison is a thousand times better than men’s prison ah?
Singapore prison living conditions look so much better than the slumps in Hong Kong
Im so proud of my country see how kempt even the prisons are. That shows how great our govt is.
when reading a news paper is an activity to one you realise how blessed you are flipping the papers with your cuppa
