I would react the same way the parents did.
I once dated a wealthier girl, and her parents were cool but I could tell they didn't think I was good enough for their daughter, and quite frankly, I understood why they felt that way, and I thought it was okay, they weren't rude or anything but definitely always felt like they forced being nice to me.
Ultimately, I think as a parent you always want your kids to be happy, and we perceive poor people as struggle and unhappiness, which is somewhat true.
Yeah these episodes the actors are so outwardly rude but in real life people are more subtle with it. But I guess that would get a reaction from people watching

I had this happen to me with a friend. I will never forget being told by the girl 'mom says I can't play with you anymore. You're poor and lower class than I am.' My family and I are upper middle class. My mom just laughed and told me it was her loss. The 'rich girls' wanted nothing to do with her because they were richer and her parents were considered poor class to them. It's funny how all that works out.

Here's the thing, I can relate to this because my parents are the same way, they tend to judge based on someone's appearance. If I was in the girl's shoes, COMMUNICATION is key, like hey, he's coming from work, he tried to get the day off but couldn't so please bare that in mind. If you don't want to meet him like this, can we try another day? You as the BF, need to at least try to work a deal with your boss so you can present yourself in a way that is both comfortable with you and maybe not saying suit in tie but if you understand the type of people her parents are, need to compromise, in that sense. If this girl really is the one, you need to accept that they are her parents, she obviously still wants them in her life so you need to accept who they are too. This is just my opinion.

about 10 years ago in a gym, the locals saw the vest as a group of knuckle draggers. On a particular Sunday, we caught some having father-daughter time. With dad's "green light", the 4 of us went into "stadium mode" to cheer her. One was a Drill Sgt and got into her head; she was listening. We made so much noise, management though there was a fight. Her best effort was max weight for 2 reps. Her tears showed us the emotion of the accomplishment. The civilian folks quickly discovered how much we actually do care. Our rep had changed forever.

I watch a lot of these videos to restore my faith in people and never comment, but this one hit home. A few months ago I started dating a wonderful and amazing woman. She has 2 kids of mixed race, which I have absolutely no issue with(who would?!) I'm white and so is she, but when my mom found out she had 2 mixed race kids she lost her shit. Called me a fuck up, called her trash, and told me to never come around again or bring her around. She all but disowned me because she is racist. It was so awful. I'm in my early 30's, and was not going to take that. We're still together and doing great, she treats me better than I've ever been treated, and I haven't really spoken to my mom since. I sometimes wonder if other people would act this way, and question myself. Videos like this remind me that I made the right decision, and that she's the one with the problem.

My husband is a maintenance worker, and I'm a custodian. We don't have much right now, but, we're happy together. Although my husband has no interest in college, he is very supportive of me in my pursuit of my college degree in veterinary technology, and I am very supportive of him just working if that's all he wants to do. That's what being life partners is all about- being happy together and supporting each other on life's adventures.

I’m stuck between living like that but I really want someone who we can both work on the same level and both lift each other up equally because in the end maybe one can get tired of doing most and working late etc for the other while the other cannot provide the same work wise
From personal experience I felt like a sugar momma. He gave nothing and I gave everything no balance what so ever it drained me like crazy regardless wether I loved him or not. At one point the decision of what’s best for your future lies there fully open in your mind (atleast on mine)
we were only dating which is a different scenario but idont know I’ll leave it here anyways. I think it’s important to know that yes love is important but with financial stability comes happiness and a more stress free life with your partner
