Actually I think Eisenberg deals with this in an amazing way. The interviewer is clearly very nervous, asking really dumb questions and just saying random awkward things, but instead of ridiculing him Eisenberg kind of just plays along. So actually huge credit to him!

Hahaha he always has the worst interviewers!! Such a shame, he seems like a very interesting guy, and it would be pretty awesome to ask the right questions and see what you get out of it.
I'm a huge fan of Jesse's so have seen a lot of his interviews and one of my favorites is with Conan O'Brian. I just remember them talking a lot about how he's always taking in foster cats because he's too busy to adopt them. That probably wasn't even the funniest part, it just solidified my crush on him. But overall the interview was funny, he's extremely intelligent and funny, yet very awkward and quirky too & since Conan I also intelligent-funny, he's able to p/u on his humor and quirks easily. I found this interview a little hilarious because Jesse's trying so hard to act like this is completely normal that this guy is talking about a girl in 10th grade who gave him an ulcer and asking how to use magic to p/u women lol 😂

The interviewer was being a jerk. One passive aggressive question after another. He was pretending to be mundane, no big deal is his demeanor, but his questions were meant to try and get an irritated reaction or he was just plain dumb.

Let’s be honest. This isn’t the awkward Eisenberg interview we were looking for but we did not leave disappointed.
He's not awkward at all. He's very real. It seemed the interviewer couldn't handle how direct he was. 1:23 is a pure example of this. Eisenberg flipped the deck, and questioned the questions of the questionnaire. It's no surprise that Wilkinson (the interviewer) would title his video; "Awkward Jesse". Pay close attention and you will realize that it's not Eisenberg who is awkward, but the interviewer himself.

I think the obvious reason why the interviewer was "so focused on women" was that the character in the movie seemed to be able to charm women. That should have been obvious to Jesse, and the interviewer should have been articulate and quick witted enough to point that out. If interviewers were really interviewing and not trying to make their own point or some odd agenda of their own, I don't think they'd run into so much trouble with Jesse's anxiety and defensiveness.

Actors are not mokeys for fuck sakes! A lot of them are very intellectual and dont like having to dumb themselves down for publicity. (No, its not their 'job' there are publicists and commercials and people who get paid way more than actors to promote movies). Jesus, i would have acted the same way!!! Especialky when he has answered the same questions a million times; its hard, even for actors, to pretend to give a shit over and over and over and over again. Sometimes the bullshit is just too much. No one is perfect cut them some slack.

I really like Jesse, he's just so quick witted both in character and out of character, delves into things beyond the obvious.
It comes across to me, that in every interview Jesse willingly participates in, he feels compelled insecure. I don't know why, he is always on the defense. He needs to lighten up and realize that not everyone is out to get him like the kids in High School.

Watch Matlon Brando interviews, An early film he did he was forced to go on the road promoting it so he turned it around and was very observant and asked the interviewer questions......I remember one, this fellow came in and Brando noticed the man bit his nails,.....' Oh' said Brando ' I see you bite your nails.' 'Oh no' replied the reporter, quick as a flash ' when I go to bed I hold my arm out and I have a dog that does it form me'. Brando had a good laugh at that .

For some reason I interchanged Richard Wilkinson's role with Andre Nowzick (Paul Scheer - The League).
I know that Jesse Eisenberg looks perpetually uncomfortable and maybe it helped facilitate this.
I think the awkwardness here comes from the interviewer either desperately needing to get laid or simply to get his mind out of the gutter. It has nothing to do with Jesse Eisenberg.
