The main point of polygamy is the husband to act as guardian (protection) of his wives. However, sadly many cultures use polygamy as an excuse to exercise their sovereignty and rights to dominate over their wives. Since Islam is known to have polygamy available and these misleading traditions, often Muslims are the one being targeted for oppressing women using polygamy.
In my country, the husband has to have a written permission from his first wife officially submitted if he wishes to marry another.
Please bear in mind that polygamy is not a compulsory thing, and women (as wives) has more rights in marriage. The husband becomes more obligated to provide equally (physically and mentally) for all his wives and children.

Yes, I agree that in any given day or age, everyone, male or female may choose to live and be without a partner or get married if they do not find anyone who is suitable for them. But, in the context of that video, that is the explanation to the debate of muslim men having the option to marry 4 and he is using the statistics and analogy to answer the lady's question and also to those watching. Ultimately, again as mentioned it is not compulsory, which also means that if any woman do not wish to be married then by all means.

What do you mean by perfectly making a sense? It doesn't make any sense at all. First of all those statistics were done based on all age groups. If the statistics were done on ages between 18 and 40, the result might be different. Secondly its very harsh to think of unmarried women with public properties like buses. First of all, you are comparing apples to oranges. Extramarital affairs break the vows of the spouses. By definition there are immoral. The extramarital affairs also exist in polygamist societies. Hence, they cannot be used as argument against or for polygamy nor for or against monogamy. For ex. in some Muslim countries you can get a time limited marriage contract; few months, few days or.... few hours. Is it not essentially the same as having an affair?

Quotation needed. What I can see in Quran as limits is 3 month waiting period applied to divorced woman before she can marry another man and rejecting of prostitution. But there is no abolition of Mut'ah Nikah per se in Quran. And as such it's commonly practiced amongst university / college students in mentioned countries.
Anyways, Quran is strange; it does not forbid having sex with 5yo but bans prostitution. Just think about it for at least 15 seconds...

His answer is somehow twisted. Pointing to the other religions that do some wrongs does not make his religion to be right. Actually, it only indicates that Islam is equally wrong. In days of prophets, bronze age, iron age and Medieval times, the disproportion of male and female in populations were much greater than in modern times. So a polygamy was some kind of *man made* coping mechanism for a society.
Nowadays women CAN have education and skills allowing them to stay unmarried. Marriage is NOT an obligatory. And for sure unmarried women are NOT public property. What he says is false, plain and simple.
To sum it: The polygamy in all religions are result of a social environment. It cannot be command of all-knowing God for this God would know that it's immoral and serves mostly men (males) and treats women as a property and walking-talking incubators for male masters.

Well the clear proof is all the messengers had multiple wife’s and this verse could be interpreted in many different ways depending on who is interpreting it. The verse said lest his heart turns away so therefore you can do so if you are in fear of your heart turning away from one.
Nope that is false. This is the law given by God. And God never ever put another verse saying you can have multiple wives. The prophets went and have multiple wives and God never ever happy with that even God never bless it.
So for God the only righteous way is to have one wife only.

If fact there is a solution for this case if the first women put in her condition that her men doesn't have the right to get another women , and he accepts then he can't back up anymore and if he decides to do it against that condition the women can demand divorce she will win and she will take her rights fully and be hugely compensated .
If she is a good Muslim women she can also put a condition that he should consult her before marrying another women and the men wouldn't be able to marry before consulting his first wife ! Islam still gave ways to women to have some control over that thing.
