People will vote for a woman of colour. The problem is when she's an airhead, and looks hopelessly out of depth, full of woke rubbish, incapable of explaining policies. Oh and she was also a woman of colour. But so bad a candidate that she lost against Trump. When Britain voted Thatcher, was it because they had a problem with men in power?

HI there from NZ, the health policy we don't share with USA is universal health care, pretty similar to the NHS but not quite as eviscerated. SO the medical ads are reduced to asking people to suggest to their doctor that they prescribe their drug and not a generic. Oh God, please not allowing presidents to serve more than two terms. 😮 Fortunately amending our constitution is complex and I doubt it could even get through Congress let alone ratification by 2/3s of the states. And yes. Americans can’t have nice things anymore, nor do we deserve to. 😢
You'd think he'd be a bit more critical of the Duchy, particularly as in the recent Eye 1634 'Pass The Duchy' piece about the feudal actions of the Duchy of Cornwall in the Scilly Isles. They even quoted small parts of a speech from Lord Berkeley in the Lords, who suggested the Duchys be nationalised.
Not much, it seems. Both Duchies are exempt from a number of businesses taxes. They do not pay corporation tax or capital gains tax, and inheritance tax is not paid when they are passed down the royal line of succession.
Most legal brains fully understand why the Supreme Court said that the constitution amendments do not allow abortions. It is a matter for the state legislature.
On the Duchies of Cornwall & Lancaster, it's probably also worth asking about how money paid to them is re-invested. I seem to remember that the Duchy of Cornwall has at least indicated that it doesn't invest abroad & focuses on the improvement of the properties owned, and in many cases the rents paid by both the public and public bodies are notably below market value compared to if, as Hislop says, some oligarch or foreign pension fund owned them.
Yeah, I thought I respected Welby - he even featured in Big Issue!! - till I heard he aimed to suppress the child abuse 'until he retired'. Totally disgusting, but in the true tradition of the church. Except, it's not what jesus would do, is it?
