    To me it doesn’t feel weird having young children on a ‘leash’ (we call them reins) as I am British and brought up with them. They help when a toddler is learning to walk because you can pull it up so they don’t hit the floor. We don’t use them often but mostly in foreign places where you don’t know if they are safe or expensive shops incase they damage anything😂. By the way incase you didn’t see it properly it is a harness and not a dog collar 😂.

      - haha, Americans probably have a different perspective on this. Soooo strange to me. It's definitely a leash in my mind 😆

    We love Turkeye! We spent 2 weeks in Istanbul this spring. To find the best tasting, and best priced foods we avoided tourist zones. Not sure about Marmaris, but in Istanbul there were small local 'cafeterias' that served excellent food to the locals. We would order 2-3 dishes that included all the bread, water and turkish tea you could eat and drink. Cost $4-5 for 2 adults - Incredible!!

      - I am also starting to fall in love with the food and also the people of this country. So many interesting stories that I have, that never made it on camera because it just happened in between filming. Cool place for sure! I know I will be sad when I leave 🙈

    Hi. I have been to icelemer which is further on from marmarris. It isn't so touristy in icelemer . Marmarris is good to go get things from like the grand bazzare where I got my shoes fixed by the cobbler there. I couldn't believe they have the old businesses still there like us English had back in the day. The man had a sewing machine to sew the buckle on to the leather strap of my shoe. This man was great. Charged me like three pound to do it. Awesome he was. A genuine man. Yes turkey don't put prices on things some do. The ones who don't I didn't bother with as I like to know the price first hand.. u can cycle to icelemer from marmarris. Which is a lovely ride. I recommend icelemer to u. Lovely local people. We stayed in an apartment not a hotel. We were near the locals all the time and felt like we lived there. Awesome

    Turkey looks beautiful, a little touristy where you are currently at, but the locals seem really friendly. I know how you like to explore off the beaten path areas, so I'm sure you will explore the deeper, less touristy parts of Turkey while you are there. What a great first impression of Turkey though.

    Just home from Marmaris, spent two weeks there. Not sure there are any rules for driving & crossing the streets. People w/o licenses being allowed to rent & drive. People driving onto footpaths because people are walking on the road. Going through the lights when it's every colour... red/yellow/green lol. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there though.
    The guy who recommended the Jeep Safari, yes it's fun but make sure your stuff is protected (waterproof in some way) as there is a lot of water fighting, and not much "Safari" and they do multiple stops, the first is where you can buy food & drinks, then they drive to another location immediately after where you get free chicken/rice/chips. I do agree that it was good though, a bunch of my family really enjoyed it. Oh, and if you wear sunglasses during the water fight, you will be targeted more lol.
    I recommend the Turkish Bath. I used "Ago Travel" and the guy there known as "Big Dave" is a good dude. It's about a 15 minute walk from the beach/marina you were at in this video.
    He sends you to a 4* hotel called... Pasabey. It's £10 for the basic package, Sauna (and steam room) > Foam Bath > Scrub. Then you can pay extra when you arrive at Pasabey for other stuff. I tried the facial/indian head massage & medical massage. I went twice and got the Indian head massage and medical massage both times. Basic package & both of those cost me £30-35.

    What do you think about a cleanliness in Marmaris..like the street, public facility and the food..?

    • @Edgesofearth
      @Edgesofearth  2 года назад

      - the occasional piece of trash here and there, but overall, it was very clean. Public facilities were generally maintained, and the food preparation appeared to be clean.
      I've spent many years in southeast asia, so maybe my tolerance is pretty high. 🤪
      In all seriousness, though, I do think it was well maintained. Throughout the day, I seen city employees walking around and maintaining everything.. such as collecting trash.. or watering the flowers.. etc

    This is the rare time I see you in the busy tourist area.
    They exploit the tourism industry there which is quite bustling and attracts many visitors. Types of tourism activities are also diverse and rich. but I don't know if the price is expensive. Have you tried buying a tour?
    Do they sell any snacks?
    Your story is about British children, I feel a bit shocked.! Their culture of looking after their children is weird.
    Did you go swimming in the sea?

    • @Edgesofearth
      @Edgesofearth  2 года назад

      - I didn't go swimming. It's hard to carry all of my equipment and go swimming at the same time.
      Definitely expensive in that area. There are a couple small booths that sell snacks nearby. Yeah, the British child thing is a bit strange to me also 🙈🤣

    Hi when you used the hsbc bank did it give you pounds or lira?

    • @Edgesofearth

      - Lira. ATMs around the world only give the local currency. I have never been offered a different currency other than the local currency.

    • @alancoleman1573
      @alancoleman1573 2 года назад

      You can take out other currencies in marmaris atms, I've took out British pounds from them it does give you the choice on the screens on some of them!

    • @Edgesofearth

    • @Edgesofearth
      @Edgesofearth  2 года назад

      - out of the hundreds and hundreds of ATMs that I have used around the world over the last 6 years, I literally have never been given that option. So I stick by my comment. If this individual is looking for a different currency to come out of an atm, they will have a difficult time finding one 🤷🏼‍♂️.
      I used an ATM 3x while I was in Marmaris. No option was given. Only Lira.

    • @Edgesofearth

      - not pavement.. but the QR code bicycles are pretty cool. Something like that was quite common in mainland China. But the whole system backfired and now there are thousands upon thousands of bikes scattered all over the place damaged and in the forest and such. On the side of roads. They didn't control the system properly.
