    Thank you so much! What do you do to hide the big messy ball on the back of the flower?

    • @CakeNation
      @CakeNation  Год назад +1

      You can cover with fondant, make a calyx or attach leaves to the back…usually the area left exposed isn’t too big to cover and I tend to just put a petal over it x

    Do u attach to the cake with the styrene still attached??

    • @CakeNation
      @CakeNation  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah leave the polystyrene still attached...using the cocktail still to secure it into the cake x

    Have you used a veining tool for your petals? Does the rose look more realistic or is it a waste of time?

    • @CakeNation
      @CakeNation  5 лет назад +1

      for the inner petals i wouldn't really bother as you cant see it really. I really like Sugar Art Studios for veiners...they look fab on the outer petals x

      Search self healing mats on Amazon. You can get both self healing and ones that are not self sealing. You can buy them at most fabric stores and craft stores such as Michaels. BTW they aren’t cheap. 😝

    May I ask how do you store them? to avoid the dissolving/melting?

    • @CakeNation
      @CakeNation  Год назад +1

      I place them in a cake box with some packing peanuts, they manage fine in there x

    Can u confirm size of Styrofoam ball you used please? I tried this today using a 50mm ball which I think is the size you used but this seemed much smaller than the one in your video. Also do you stick your cocktail stick in any glue as mine ended up coming through :(

    • @CakeNation
      @CakeNation  5 лет назад

      yes a 5cm ball is what i used. I do not use glue as this affects the polystyrene. just a bit of water with fondant on x

    What are the actual sizes of the petals?

    • @CakeNation
      @CakeNation  5 лет назад

      if you have the 6 round cutters the inner layers are the smallest one and the outer is the next one up. The ones that go all the way around are the larges rose cutter x

    • @cathieh.7225
      @cathieh.7225 5 лет назад

      @@CakeNation how about you just tell me the actual size of the petal cutters you used in inches or cms it doesn't matter, different sets and different brands have different sizes.

    • @CakeNation

      link is in the bio to the ones i used.

      @@cathieh.7225 I have the same issue here....
      If I look at the sizes of the FMM cutters here in Holland...
      Set of 5: 1,5 / 2,0 / 2,7 / 3,3 / 4,0 cm
      Set of 3 : 5,6 / 6,7 / 7,8
      In the tutorial for the first petals..largest out set of 5
      smallest out set of 3
      But I see her using (counting the blocks) 2,0 and 2,7 cm
      no 5,6 for the inner petals 🤔 do what sizes do we have to use?
