I wanted to share some thoughts and give some suggestions that worked for me I do leg swings from front to back slowly with ankle weights with resistance while holding on. I do this slowly so my brain can really focus on that movement, plus it helps activate those muscles. I then do this same exercise sideways, slowly. I also lift the foot towards my back, to activate the hamstrings, this helps along with backwards walking. After a few months of doing this, I'm now able to lay on my stomach and lift my leg of the floor. I could not do this during the summer. It started just thinking about it with no movement, to just moving a little, now it lifts even higher. I was in tears mixed with laughter yesterday with my trainer . I no longer need the shower chair, I can just stand now with non slip shoes. I just started this earlier this week. This is a big deal because when I was in impatient rehab, I had to be showered in a wheelchair and I had to be lifted to the bathroom on a machine that sat me on the toilet, I can do all this stuff on my own now. I was paralyzed and can now walk, still working on my arm, it's a lot stronger now and after everything I have accomplished, I'm very confident that my arm will improve even more also. Don't give up, keep fighting. Also get rest, drink water, think about the movement, set goals, and try to laugh, the body follows the mind. If you are negative, your body will follow that attitude. I was there in the beginning. I hope this reaches someone. Take care!
Thanks for posting - this has been a revelation for me. Trying to walk post SCI has been exhausting because of the mental effort required to lift my leg - but I understand now that it’s more about relaxing my toned hamstring to allow a passive swing. Will build these drills into my routine! Thanks again!
I am a physiotherapist and have been watching your videos for the past week. To be honest, your content is fantastic! It would be even more impactful if you could include some pre- and post-treatment clips of your patients-it would really enhance the learning experience. Lastly, I’d like to know if you offer any specialized courses for physiotherapists in rehabilitation.
Thank you so much for your video. So helpful. I have circumduction still after 1.5 years. They say because my hip is weak and I can’t fully bend knee at same time. I look so stupid at 33 but when walking my leg is in full hyperextention. No one really tried to addressed it specifically. Thank you I will try your exercises I appreciate it and you ❤

Hello. Would you be able to post a video which puts all these things together in an actual walk? I have spasticity in one of my legs, and I am great at doing these exercises and relaxing my leg, but when I go to put it all together in an actual walk I cannot sustain the movements and it all goes wrong 😔
I appreciate this video. I have tried many shoes and finely settled on new balance ( has a roll bar and is deep enough for my AFO). I also have the kiziks which I love. Would love for you to give a review of kiziks! But cadence is on my list so I am happy to hear your review.
I’ve gained so much from your channel , I wonder if you have addressed my issue, the lower leg on my affected side swings forward from the knee until it locks straight and I land hard on The heel as I step forward. therefore my question is how do I stop this pendulum action from the knee joint?
Numbness and spasticity in hand and face( left side) after a hemorrhagic stroke; how can one regain the feeling and nerve rewiring in hand and face as well as a left frozen shoulder?
Can a brain stroke patient use pf night splint during night sleep? I already asked it in previous videos but there I didn't get the reply. Please answer to this question
