I love how Rosamund Pike just rolled "Edmond's Fielders" off her tongue without hesitation. And when she spoke of channeling: it is clear that she is dedicated to really understanding this world. It reminds me of interviews with Henry Cavill about The Witcher.
@@TheRedStateBlue Holy crap. Thank you! I don't know why I've been adding that extra 'D' in there for almost 30 years and numerous rereads of the series! Wow, brains can be weird!

Daniel was my fan-pick for Lan long before the casting came out. So yeah, I'm am SO freaking out right now. Rosamund, while not tiny, looks SO much like Moiraine it is dumbfounding. Seeing the other cast in action...is so perfect. Rafe did well.
Rosamund doesn't just look like Moiraine, she personifies her. The grace, nobility, conviction, all of it. She is Moiraine through and through. And I'm just as excited to see Daniel do Lan things.I think they hit a home run with this cast.
Oh yeah, Rafe Judkins was my pick for showrunner in 1989 when I heard Robert Jordan was going to write a book. I knew a gay man would really be able to ruin every single thing about it.

@@Raistlinsdragonclaw I am just a book fan who has watched the cast interviews and has been reassured as they seem to 'get' the characters. You are free to disagree
Quite a bit taller, but my guess is short actresses to fill such a specific role may be scarce. Cairhien are a short people, and she was considered small for a Cairhien, to paraphrase a passage from the books. But outside of that, she does fit the part pretty well.
@@sdube001 I feel like most of the time height doesn't really translate on screen unless it's extremely obvious or brought up in dialogue. Most of the time the height of characters on screen doesn't even cross my mind.
@@David-un4cs I would disagree in the sense that, to paraphrase Mr.Plinkett, "you don't notice it, but your brain does". Sometimes looks or height play into the character because the actor/writer makes it a big part of their personality. I do agree that with Moiraine It is not a large part of her personality in the WoT (although I haven't read New Spring yet to see how she was as a young woman). But for instance someone like Perrin is extremely aware of his height, especially in the early books he does his best not to be imposing or intimidating due to it. Also if I'm remembering correctly, Nynaeve bemoans her height once or twice situationally, even though she isn't particularly tiny, so it's more about her character showing how she's easily frustrated. So height and looks can definitely inform character traits, but maybe not for all characters.
That was a GREAT Q&A! Long time fan of WoT here and seeing how much they connect with their roles is outstanding. The more snippets I see of each of them in action the more I grow to love them. I can't wait for the show!!
I've read the books. They really capture the scene at the river crossing. The fade in the midst of the Trollocs was awesome to see after only seeing it in my mind as I read. Hopefully they tell the whole story. A great piece of work and great actors.
Rosamund Pike is so awesome!! Love her acting skills. She is very dedicated. I have watched so many of her movies and she goes the extra mile. Daniel is doing a great job too and I would like to see him in more movies.
Having seen Rosamund Pike for the first time, I find her a magnificent actress. Daniel is born for stardom (and what a hunk!). Having not read the books, I sometimes am concerned I don't quite get it all, and I'm enjoying the majesty of this film.
When Robert Jordan died I was devastated!.....and then Brian Sanderson took over! I put off reading the rest until just recently and I read the whole thing start to finish. I cried when some of my favorite characters died. Now I think I'm in love with Lan. Daniel's not what I imagined, but watching the trailers....he's perfect. (Alice in Boise)
It's not so much a use of the power as it is a byproduct, but the ability to live (depending on strength in the power) for over 800 years is the biggest appeal of the power to me.
I was not to happy about Rosamund Pike portraying Moraine. I thought she to tall. But in all honesty I have to admit to myself that it was her. So Rosamund Pike if you ever read this post please except my apologies for any negative comment I may have made regarding your role as Moraine. You nailed it.😊
