    What an interesting town, my goodness so much to see. Loved everything as usual. Arson at that historic building makes my blood boil & I find some nasty words crossing my mind, soooo unnecessary 😢. Thank you both for sharing with . 🚗🚗🚗🚗🥰

      We were devastated at that beautiful building that was burnt down, all so sad and so unnecessary. 😥🏡 It must've been such a magnificent property, I can't even imagine how sad the owners must've been. I'm glad you enjoyed our visit to Hopefield, it was a very cool town to visit! 🚙😁

      We were just as enchanted by the plane, so I'm super happy to hear you enjoyed it too. The history of the old machine is truly incredible and I could only imagine what it all saw in its operating days. 😍🛩️

    I cannot help but wonder how many soldiers that were transported in that old Dakota, never made it home. A beautiful town. Thank you again.

      With such a history, one can't help but wonder that. The thought crossed my mind too. The tales that old plane could tell of the places and people it saw. 🛩️

      Yes, it was good to see. 🚙🛣️ The Western Cape does a very good job of maintaining their roads, for the most part.

    Hi you two! Thank you for this wonderful visit to Hopfield! Such a nice clean town with beautiful old gabled and porched white buildings. The church and church hall are impressive. I love it that townspeople treasure their history. For such a (relatively) small town Hopefield has so many interesting places, and they are not hidden. The Simply Bee stop was very interesting. Never thought bees were so useful over and above honey! I will definitely try to look up some more on the subject of bee life. The Commercial Hotel is quite a place. It should have been named the GRAND HOTEL! Also, Kleine Hopefield is not so "klein", it could well have been Hopefield Mall. The aeroplane on show was quite a surprise. As always your drone views were fascinating. Even from above the charm of the town is clear. The places you visited all stood out even from above. Thank you again for all the effort you both put in to take us to those wonderful places.
    I'm on the roadside for the next trip!
    Please keep safe!

      Yes, it's true. Hopefield is filled with many interesting places to see and we were happy to visit some of them. I was blown away by the little I learnt about bees during my short visit. I always knew they were important to the ecosystem, but this gave me a new perspective. 🐝 The farmstall, and especially the plane was a BIG surprise! That old plane has some stories to tell and I'm so happy it found a resting place where folks can still ooh and aah about it. 😍🛩️ Thank you for hopping on board again and visiting Hopefield with us! 🚙

    Hi guys amazing that this place is 87 miles from Cape Town and so rural its great that the people are really useing their resources lots flowers equal lots of bees so interesting the information about the bees wonderful what nature can do the shops I bet are busy in season with the cream and potions .the bees in the UK are having problems so they are trying to increase their number. The DRF church was stunning and I thought the steeple was amazing with the weather vane in afrikaans!!! . As always I really enjoy going through the suburbs pink house and speed boat on the corner. Glad you got those station signs love both tin buildings the route 45 looked interesting and I believe I had the pink car in the UK its a vauchall 101 properly Opal or chevroley in SA plenty of old property's like the blacksmiths cottage sad about the one with the burnt-out roof. The high school was definitely on a large scale and 100 years old ! With a functioning pool!!! I thought the accommodation was old style open fire looked cosy I wish them luck in their endeavour. The drone showed how rural it is then the cherry on top the farmstall the plane with its history in world war 2 outstanding 👏 quirky bar area shop and garden centre right up my alley I noticed the seat's and tables were made with tyres the roaring fire very temping for quick drink .the old donkey set the scene another piece of education of rural SA thanks for taking me along cheerio till the next one

      @charlietreston4035 I also thought it quite amazing that a town like Hopefield is actually so close to Cape Town and it's one we've never visited before. The bees were incredibly interesting and it was great to see an entire facility dedicated to them. They're a true miracle of nature and I think under threat in a lot of places. 😥🐝 The black-and-white steeple of the DRF church was very impressive and strikingly beautiful. 💒 Cool that you saw one of your old rides amongst the classic cars, I love that! I thought you may enjoy the plane, I loved it too! 😁🛩️

    What a nice town Hopefield is. The church is stunning. What an irresponsible act to arson such a beautiful historical building. I love the old buildings which are in excellent shape and well maintained.i love your visits to the stations. Thanks for this trip well done. Seat booked for the next one

      The church is indeed a beautiful building and in tip-top shape. 💒 We couldn't believe the destruction at that grand old house. If it still looks like that today, I can only imagine what it must've looked like before the fire. Super sad. 😥 We enjoyed exploring Hopefield and the station was an especiallly characterful one. Glad you made time to come along. See you again soon! 🚙😁

    Hi ,I would like to know if you have traveled through a town which you would recommend for a couple to retire in.Safe ,clean,everything works, good community. Access to a hospital, shops and water.Thanks from Allan in Israel

    • @DustBugsTravel
      @DustBugsTravel  11 месяцев назад +1

      We travel for fun and don't look at places with a view of possibly settling there. Your wish list is long and might be difficult to achieve, but we're certainly not in a position to advise you. Perhaps you should make a shortlist of places and pay them each a visit to get the 'feel' for each place. Good luck! 😊

    Just as a matter of interest? Are you a pastor or some kind of preacher in real life? I am yet to see an episode where you dont dash for the nearest church and get out to film it, yet some other historic buildings you mearly acknowledge and drive by. Just an observation on my part. Train stations and churches seems to be of special interest to you guys.

    • @DustBugsTravel
      @DustBugsTravel  Год назад +1

      No, not a priest or pastor. We enjoy the cornerstones and architecture of churches and have become fascinated with the extensive network of rail infrastructure in SA and which are now lying in all but ruin. These are just two of the things we enjoy on our travels though. I don't think you've watched enough episodes. I've gotten out at countless other historical buildings and places of interest too. 🚙😁
