What a wonderful shop. So fun to see you flip through all those records. For me, the joy is in the journey so it's just as rewarding just seeing what records are in stock, how they are merchandised etc. Thanks so much for taking us along on your visit.

Hello there Dave,I'd hear the Boxtops at least twice a week on the Golden Oldie radio station. I loved singing along g to all the hits etc... while driving up the M6 to Birmingham .
I've seen the record fair at Derby advertised on FB,it's on my hit list of fairs to visit.

Hi Nick. The Box Tops was the band that Alex Chiltern was in before Big Star. I first heard 'The Letter' on a free CD with a music magazine back in the day, great song. Good to see the Gary Numan collection gathering pace.

I used to hear the Box Tops on the radio in the lorry usually 2 or 3 times a week....The Letter or Cry Like a Baby .
Yes my Gary Numan collection is making steady progress....christ knows how many more studio albums I need though !!!

Abrupt ending? You done very well with that cramps compilation! Flipping well hard to find off the bone with or without the spex! I have spent more than that on a single once (but this was a good vibrations original of the teenage kicks EP by the undertones!) I know you never mentioned the price, but I saw it as you were flicking past the albums!!!!

If I'm honest I try not to mention prices unless it's a super super bargain etc... I don't want folk to think I'm bragging in any way.

Hi Nick, what a smashing shop. A wonderful Reggae and Soul section. I have never seen that particular nude compilation before. I'm surprised the Judge Dread didn't come home with you. That Amy poster was nice.
The Cramps is all the singles l think, l don't have it and have never seen it in the wild for about 25 years. Well worth the price in that condition. Stiff comp has people on l've never heard. A good haul mate.

Hi Nick, I'd just uploaded my RSD video and noticed you'd made this epic. I bought that Stiff Comp when it first came out and I still listen to it. I would have found it hard to resist that Cramps album. It's nobody's business what you paid for it, and if you think it's worth the money then it's worth the money. Looks like a lovely shop. I noticed they had a copy of (I'm) Stranded, that would have come home with me. Hi Nick. This was an excellent video. Great picture quality, well edited, good location footage, and a bit of comedy too. I wouldn't know where to start doing a video like this, as I do mine on the laptop. Did you record this on your smartphone? ... One of my favourite songs in the background (Jackson Browne 'The Pretender') ... Some of the prices in the record shop were a bit steep. The Smithereens' 'Blow Up' at £40 jumped out at me ... Alex Chilton (The Box Tops, Big Star, solo artist) is one of my musical heroes! The Box Tops were definitely blue-eyed soul. Chilton was only 16/17 at the time. He went on to a varied career, including producing the early material by the Cramps ... That 'Can't Start Dancin'' comp is excellent. Mickey Jupp was signed to Bell Records in the late 60s with the band Legend, and like a lot of the Stiff acts he'd been around on the London pub rock scene. The Rumour were the backing band for Graham Parker.

Second hand dealers are totally different over here in Britain Michael,it's a case of grading yourself with your own eyes and deciding there and then if you think it's worth the price. Nothing I came home with was scratched or in poor condition etc...
Japan is the only country where I wouldn't take a record from a sleeve for a visual inspection,I'd completely put my faith and trust in those price and condition labels we see in your videos.
It's not that I don't trust British sellers,I think we're expectd and encouraged to pull the record out and see for our selves.
The background music is a tricky thing....I'm in a record store, what do YT expect to hear in the background, major league baseball commentary or horse racing from Ascot ???
There needs to be serious give and take with copyright etc... with YT and the music companies.
