Great question! It is just for more realism, unfortunately the game doesn’t show when the yellow cymbal is for the hats or for a crash cymbal but when you know the song you are playing I try to play it as real as possible

Theres a lot of songs I wish I could say every song but no, even though it is very easy to find every song of the GH & RB series

Acai has a video showing how. There's plenty of other videos, too. You can either use a midi to usb cable or a Rock band midi pro adapter.

Hey man, I'm also using a Roland TDK17. Do you sometimes have issues with your crash cymbal registering ghost hits?
