National Sorry Day is on the 26th May for Aboriginal Australians to remember when white settlers took their children away from their families. The forcible removal of the children from their families was based on assimilation policies, which claimed that their lives would be improved if they became part of white society.
It was a relatively small event, and I didn't need the 100-400 bazooka but it came in handy for extreme close ups, which I think is so much more interesting than wide angle messy images. We end up cropping so why not crop (extreme) in camera.. 200-800mm LOL What was I thinking...
It was a great to learn new things and photograph it. They even had free sandwiches and tea and bickies... One guy asked me if I was the official photography... LOL... Just bring a bazooka lens and your pro level jumps up a few notches...
Thanks for watching

Very entertaining 👏
You got some great images there!
Thanks Pd. Much appreciated 👍
Excellent pics, Roberto. I love the dancing girls. Beautiful music as well.
Yeah. It was lucky having a plain background. The zoom worked well with that. I thought you like the dancing. The Australian salsa lol 😆
Grea5 photos of the dancing 💃 girls Love it with the white background too
Thanks 👍
You can't beat free food Roberto! Great pictures again, I liked the guitarist's hands.
The 100-400 was an inspired choice. Clearly, if it's big you must know what you're doing...
Yummy bush tucker and lamingtons 😆 I like filling the frame the bigger the better. Got me thinking if the people saw this, they would be happy showing them so close ? A question for another video me thinks
Hilarious Rob! You’ve just made my day! Great photos too! I’ve said it before - you are truly unique! Only bring the big gun when shooting “street” - why didn’t I think of that!😁 The term “Average Suburban Shooter” has a certain ring to it, I must give you that! I can see the glued posters on the walls: “Join the Average Suburban Shooter Society - Just bring your Bazooka!” I just love your videos Rob! Cheers!
not sure why my reply is not showing? did you see it?
@@robdido No I did not see it, and somehow my comment first got truncated so I had to edit to get it right!🤨 Anyway - I just love your work, so thanks yet again for an entertaining video!🤩
@@rikardpersson9493 cool. Thanks. Stupid RUclips app lol 😆
Rocking the winter beard Roberto! Looking dapper and rugged. Just need a red Jacque Cousteau beanie to complete the hipster photographer look lol. Another great round of shooting for you and Jerry
Haha. Yes. Bloody itchy. Looking for a peaky blinders hat actually. Good day out. Long weekend for King Charlie but it's raining. Might do macro
Nice. Jerry Fan Club.
Jerry's my number one fan 😆
Very interesting (and educational) video, I didn’t know anything about what was done to the aborigines. I like the candid shots that you got with the 100-400, I have the Fuji XF70-300 with the 1.4 teleconverter which is equivalent in full frame to 630mm, but I only use it to photograph my mother-in-law, I’m afraid to get close to her.
I would be better off with that little 75-300 Oly lens like the Fuji one. I'm learning too. We were never taught this in school. Haha I think the Iguanas might be scared of you.. stop giving Jerry ideas.. she wants an xt30 now..
@@robdido Get a used X-T4 for Jerry, she’s going to love it.
Roberto, does that camera do videos also?
Yes the em1ii has great stabilization and can shoot log profiles too but I just use a normal natural profile. The dancing shots were filmed at 400mm.. a little bit over-exposed but that was my fault
@@robdido Good job Roberto, I always respect the indigenous people of Australia,
