Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, Dana Carvey, Molly Shannon, Will Ferrell, Bill Hader, Kristen Wigg, Kate McKinnon, and whoever else you want to add in between

When she partially breaks character at 2:52 to say goodbye is a very touching tribute to fellow cast. This caught me off guard a little.
To me, in a way, she feels like the last one of an incredible generation at SNL. She was my favorite cast member and definitely one of the most talented. I hope to see her in other things soon.

@@ja4645 I feel the same about Kenan. I enjoyed watching him on Kenan and Kel, Nickelodeon's All That, but he more or less plays the same kinda comedy. He's fine, but he's hardly a standout talent for SNL imho.

She had an abortion, which makes her a hero to the liberals, no matter whether she was funny or not - and she was rarely funny, in my opinion, as has been most of SNL for a long time.
This genuinely makes me sad. Her talent was unmatched, she never skipped a beat, and left me at many times, speechless than laughing. In my opinion, her accolades put her next to the higher greats of the SNL alumni, and she will be missed.
Cecily is one of the greats and there aren't many on her tier.

Since 2012, Cecily Strong put a smile on my face every Saturday with her wide cast of characters and voices. She impressed with her angelic singing voice and incredible stage presence.
Like the alumni that came before her like Molly Shannon, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Vanessa Bayer, Rachel Dratch, Maya Rudolph, Cheri Oteri, and Gilda Radner, Cecily is a legend.
I'll miss her like I miss Kate, Aidy, Leslie and Melissa. But my god, what a run.

The throw away “I’m Collin Jost” was perfect. Such love and respect for what was really important, giving Cecily the love and respect she deserved after an amazing tenure at SNL. She’s the GOAT and I won’t change my mind in that. Also, really gonna miss her VO for commercial parodies. Also, her Serial Podcast parody. Her voice is honey.

Cecily was probably the best sketch actor this show has ever seen. Others were perhaps funnier in individual ways, but Cecily was rock solid in every sketch she did, no matter how stupid the premise. She was able to make those sketches that you couldn’t believe made it to air bearable to watch, even memorable at times. Her impressions had the perfect mix of accuracy and parody.

Her Jeannine Pirro, Melania, Dianne Feinstein, and Majorie Taylor Greene impressions are amazing and some of true best
Honestly, I can't think of anyone on SNL who had a more versatile voice. Her voice could do anything, whether you needed raspy, nasally, smoked out, sassy, smooth, anything you want, and she could hit some serious notes with her singing voice, too. People usually go one of two ways with impressions, first being like Chloe or Melissa who are scary accurate but sometimes do not always sound like a real person who speaks like that, and the second being Aidy and Kate who sound more natural because they just sound like a version of themselves. Cecily can completely change her voice but still sound completely natural. Not many can do that. Also, she's a great singer.
Agreed. I've been watching SNL on and off for over 30 years, and I don't remember ever looking forward to anyone else more. She's the best. She'll be missed.
I feel sick knowing this was her farewell. She deserves all the love we can give her. Cecile, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of something very special. Something that will never come again.😢

The way Collin just pushed away closing the show is mad Fuckin respect. Cecily is top 10 cast member all time. And he knew what was more important atm.
Couldn't help but cry when it was clear Cecily was actually saying goodbye. She is a major talent and has always played at a level far above the typical SNL standard. Hopefully she has superior projects lined up that give her the opportunities she so richly deserves. There is no limit to what she can accomplish and hopefully it is well beyond the world of Lorne Michaels.

She really is one of the strongest cast members. I never understood why she didn't get the movie and fame like some of the others. She totally deserves it and I hope she gets it (if that is what she wants).
She seems like a really sweet person as well...which I can't qualify as I haven't watched any interviews with her outside of SNL, but just watching her interactions with cast members/when she breaks etc.

Can't say we didn't see this coming, but it still stings a little. Cecily (in my opinion) has been one of the best on this show, and while I wish her all the best, it will be sad not to see her anymore.

Having watched the show since the 80s, I think Cecily is easily one of the most versatile, talented cast members SNL ever had.

I’m glad she was able to do a few more episodes. Honestly after her weekend update “my way” performance during last season finale, I thought she was the end. I was pleasantly surprised to see her during this season 😭
I think we all called her final appearance as Jeannine as her finale sinking into the box of wine. I was surprised she came back, maybe because she wanted to go out her way, instead with many, she’ll go out on top, by herself. 🐐
The wine one was from season 46, not season 47. Season 47's Weekend Update goodbyes was Aidy Bryant and Bowen Yang as the trendsetters and Pete Davidson just talking about how SNL and Lorne Michaels in general changed his life.
It crossed my mind she was willing to stay a little longer after the exodus of Kate, Aidy, etc. if true it shows her concern for the show, the cast and Lorne.

This was the perfect sendoff for Cecily's years on Update. She took Cathy Anne from a strange character who appeared in sketches every once in a while to a very poignant and heartwarming, real presence. I liked how they used her to address Cecily's time as an anchor and her leaving the show for prison, or greener pastures. I'm glad we got to see one more Cathy Anne for the road and you could tell how much it meant to all of them.

@@Southernblonde1310 Not only did Colin work with her closely on update but as a writer in general she's in a lot of skits so he's probably spent a lot of time with her. Kenan has had to say goodbye to a lot of people it's got to be getting to him

Strong makes her work look so easy that she has never received the praise or recognition she actually merits. I will miss her. They need to get her back often for cameos and guest hosting.

Though she did sit out the first three episodes of the season, prompting people to think she quit or got fired. If they just read Wikipedia, they'd know that neither happened to her. She left with a proper sendoff.
Cecily is one of the most formidable SNL cast members of all time. It is so sad to see her leave. Her versatility and ability to entertain is exemplary. She will be missed. I hope whatever she finds to do, in the coming years, offers her a myriad of opportunities to showcase her superb talents. We look forward to you coming back to visit.

SNL got me through 2020 and I fell in love with this incredible performer. This made me so sad.
wait wait wait wait WAIT! I literally cried, set with my face in my hands for 2 minutes, She's been killing it all season. I just got used to her being back. Why is this happening. When I saw Kate and Aidy my heart sunk so low. Cecily was a tour de force and she will be missed. Guess she just need to come back one more season to hammer it in that she's among the pantheon of SNL woman headliners.
