She's 61, but still has a child-like voice. I can see how she'd still have been able to do children's voices as an adult. Interesting interview; covers quite a bit of material.
She was literally on everything. Monday through Friday on all the prime time shows, all three networks. Saturday morning shows like Curiosity Shop and Space Academy. Sunday evenings, she was the deaf girl on Lassie. She stayed busy and I miss her.
I’m born 1961 and you’re right. She was on many shows, but I recall her the best from watching The Beguiled on the Late Late Movie. I thought it was racy and that was the edited for tv version!
It's amazing, reading the comments about this interview and hearing her child voice we all remember. I too, hear the same custom voice through all of her young career. However, I hate to admit it but as a kid just 2 years younger than she, at the time I never was a fan of her. I just knew her as a kid who showed up in NEARLY EVERY show I would watch. But now, looking back and seeing her incredible acting skills, I only have admiration and adoration for her.
She looks incredible ! Just the other night, I watched a very young Ms. Ferdin in "The Beguilded," 1971, with Clint Eastwood. She was fantastic. When I was a child growing up in the mid/late 60s through the 70s, Pamelyn was in everything ! So wonderful to see her, brings back lots of memories.
She was a very busy performer in her day. I'm glad to see that shes had nothing but good memories and is maintaining a great and postive life for herself.
@@matrox I disagree she had really good name recognition. Especially in Hollywood. She worked with practically every Hollywood celebrity in the sixties.
I love her. I have followed her career since I was a kid, in the 70s, she was on every show, it seems, in the 60s-70s. I have a signed picture, via her official website.
Jinkies ! How cool you have her autograph ! An incredibly prolific career ! A true icon ! And she still has that same sweet voice ! And she comes across as just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside ! What a wonderfully sweet lady ! THANKS so much for sharing with us ! :-)
I remember her in so many shows and movies. I’m glad she is a strong protector of animal rights. Would love to read her story, I’m sure it’s full of wonderful stories as well as the difficulties growing up as a child star. 👍🏼
I look at her in this interview and feel the same heartfelt feelings as I do pictures of family members and friends from the family albums of my youth. She was always in our living rooms when we kids sat on the floor and were basically the remote control when either parent commanded. Remember wiggling the TV antenna at the direction of someone across the room? “Is this good? How about this?” To me she feels like a member of the family
This is awesome! I follow Ms. Ferdin on FB, and she is such a lovely woman. I know she's currently in the process of writing her memoirs, but she just recently lost a beloved friend who was helping her, and I know she's still grieving. She is very much in our thoughts and prayers, and we (my family and I) wish her the very best in this most difficult time. From child star to amazing humanitarian, hers is a journey to be celebrated.
I am the same age as Pamelyn, and listening to her speak just takes me back to my childhood. l remember watching her on so many different episodes of TV shows and wondering what it would have been like to be a child TV star. I too grew up to be a nurse. Very different childhoods, but ended up in the same profession! Thank you Pamelyn for the great walk down memory lane!
I loved when she said the word “joke”. I could hear Lucy Winters. She has such a great voice. Both her and the Shea brother that played Linus really enunciate their words which is so uniquely Peanuts.
I remember her in a movie called "Daughter of the Mind" in addition to her being the voice of Lucy and Fern from Charlotte's Web. She also played Edna, Felix Unger's daughter on the Odd Couple. She was in an episode of Shazam and in the Disney move The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band. Does anybody else remember her in Curiosity Shop on Saturday mornings? I loved her. She was in everything!
Yes she was the top child actress at that time it wasn't too many things you didn't see her into she was on all of the shows matter of fact I just seen her on a rerun of mannix.
I've been watching RUclips Videos since July 27th 2009 and Started my Channel June 22nd 2012 and I never Came Across a RUclips Channel on Whoever's from South America and you're the 2nd Person I found on RUclips the 1st one is some Young Man but I have no Clue what Part he's from but he Mentioned in one of his Videos that he Lives in North America now but you're the 2nd Person from South America that I found so Far since I've been watching RUclips for over a Decade now since I was Born and Raised in Southern California I got to know other Channels from all over the World since I'm a Longtime RUclipsr
I was genuinely in love with her as a child. She still has that same gorgeous face that I remember being smitten by. So many people languish on her voice and the fact that THAT hasn't changed, but that face has made my heart skip a beat for five decades. She the best!!!
Wonderful interview. I remember all the shows she was on. She was in the live action Saturday morning show "Space Academy". It ran for three seasons. I watched it. I believe she finally got her book published. I want to buy it. Sounds like a good read.
Pamelyn Ferdin was my favorite child actress when I was growing up. I thought her voice was so unique and she was definitely my favorite voice of Lucy Van Pelt.
I am so glad to see and hear Pamelyn Ferdin, and what she did to save her life from the Wretchedness of Hollywood! I actually thought that she succumbed to the Filthyness of the Genra!!! I am so Glad, Immensely Happy to see and hear her now on this Talk Show! :D God Bless You Pamela!!! Your the Bees Knees!!! :D
She is still adorable 🥰 and I know she is only 8 months older than me .. Her b- day is February 4th 1959 and my b-day is October 1st of the same year ... So talented 🙂
The Odd Couple was a show for 2 great Peanuts voice actors: Pamelyn as Lucy and Chris Shea (who played Felix & Oscars neighbor Phillip in season 1) was the voice of Linus. Funny when she’s asked to do her Lucy impersonation, because it’s throughout the whole interview…she used her own natural voice to do Lucy! The Odd Couple, Star Trek, & Brady Bunch were all Paramount shows, so she was one very busy young lady on that lot. As a huge fan of Peanuts & the Odd Couple, it would be amazing to meet her & to read that book. Would’ve like to have heard more about the issues with her mother…seemed like she wanted to speak more about that. But I really hope there’s a smart publisher out there who will see this interview and will get Pamelyn on the phone ASAP!
Growing up during this particular time period, Actress Pamelyn Ferdinand was on every television show. But the most memorable role was in the Clint Eastwood movie “The Beguiled”.
I never knew that Pamelyn's name is Pamelyn...beautiful name!!! I LOVE that story about Captain Kirk!!!! I had crushes hahaha too on grown men!!! I LOVE how he honored her feelings and made her feel good instead of chasticizing her!!!
I saw Charlotte's web in the Capital movie house in Sacramento, Ca. less than a mile from my childhood home: It was brand new. It is gone now, but the movies, T.V. shows and the genuine person and Loveliness will live on.
I watch a lot of the old rerun TV networks ( like MeTV ). I'll notice an actor in one show then see them in another and it goes on and on. These were some busy hardworking actors. They must have been working constantly. Glad to see she's still with us and doing well. I really did grow up with her and it's like seeing someone you went to school with back then.
I say thank you mrs fredrin for doing your acting and your care for the animals. I'm truly say thanks ringing bros circus for setting those elephants free and all lively hood of the animals to live in thier homes so they walk and talk in their own peace. I thank yu to put healing of the animals.
I remember her in 'The Christine Jorgensen Story' about the world's first renowned trans-gender. She played the sister, Dolly, as a child and Trent Lehman played, George/Christine, as a child.
My mother almost named me after this actress. My Mom said she liked her name seeing it rolling on the credits of one of her movies or TV shows (1971). Amazing all the work she did as a child. I never heard of her, I guess because she got out of the business in the late 70s and I was so young still. Her voice is definitely unique, didn't sound as high as a child though... in the Brady Bunch clip I thought she'd sound like mini-mouse.
A good memory really comes in handy as a nurse ... also you could pay for your schooling from your past work . ... Wow Awesome ... I'm sure you are great with people ☺️
Ken I know you did this interview last year. I remember her from the peanuts cartoon. She was very funny as Lucy. Very good actress. Well don't worry? I do keep up with your recent shows.
I’m a young person but I remember her as the voice of Fern in Charlotte’s Web. I had a DVD collection of the Peanuts cartoons as a kid but I had no idea Pamelyn voiced Lucy too.
Hi! Really love you, Pamelyn Ferdin! I'm a huge fan of you & you're a pure queen. Your voices as Sally from Cat In The Hat & Fern from Charlotte's Web are amazing. I especially love your beautiful voice as Lucy in It Was A Short Summer, A Boy Named Charlie Brown & Play It Again, too! I watch Peanuts all the time & I STILL recognize your voice! I'm really looking forward to meeting you, soon! And remember, just like what Lucy said to Schroeder in Play It Again, Charlie Brown: You have pretty eyes. ❤💖❤💖❤💖❤ *hugs her & kisses her on the cheek* Mwah! 💋 ^^
Personally, I think it's funny how Pamelyn Ferdin voiced Sally and Fern in their respective stories' animated adaptations, while Dakota Fanning played them in the live-action versions.
Excellent video showing parents how to teach their children to stand against evil, Satan. The evil will always exist in him; but the child can keep that evil away from himself/herself. The truth exposing evil.

Her voice is unforgettable. We are the same age. I remember her fondly from the 60s and 70s.

Yeah, this is the first time I've heard her voice as an adult, and it is still very child-like.

1967 here and had the same experience. She was everywhere and I watched Star Trek every dang day for years. She's become an awesome adult.

Love you, Pamelyn.........you are a part of so many of my memories from my days in the 60's/70's.......
I still have a crush on her, and her voice still sounds the same.
She is every bit as enchanting now as she was back then on screen. Absolutely Stunning Woman and an infectious Smile.
