Been playing the hell out of it when I'm not on Helldivers 2. It's fun and engaging. Feels so smooth and it looks great. Just enough like cod for all the cod loyalists but it's also got other elements from other games that make it entertaining

Game is great, not perfect, but they have a ton of room to grow because their foundation was set right!
The recoil plots disappearing is a negative imo. I want time to see how attachments affect the recoil with the patterns being side by side. If they just add a reset button that you can press to clear it, it will be superior in every way.

the biggest thing I've noticed about this game, is it shows how toxic the CoD community can be.
I am a die hard CoD fan but SBMM has pushed me away but its sad to see all of the toxicity in the XDefiant comments from the CoD community. if anything, they should be happy theres a game better than MW3 so that the CoD developers wake up and make positive changes

I messed around with XDefiant for a bit, and this is a small one, but they have a setting that disables mantling when you're ADS-ed. It's so annoying when you're jumping in a gun fight and you mantle or ledge hang on some random surface, instantly costing you that fight. That's been an issue in Warzone 1 as well and Cod hasn't taken a step to add something so simple with their return of slide canceling in Warzone 3

@@jakechynoweth009 I turned off ground mantle once, but I didn't like having to press the jump button so many times to get over things, it can slow you down when you're being chased especially.

Gotta give XDefiant their props. They are hitting marks that will make their game stand out in ways no others are doing or willing to give their community.
Instead of COD relying on SBMM to keep casuals engaged they should come out with an advanced training system that teaches players how to get better. It could even be a separate download where it teaches fundamentals, gun skill, movement, positioning, and even critical thinking. Have a big training center like Xdefiant where you can track and measure your progression. If it was a free to use feature think how many people would buy the full game just so they can test out their new skills.

That's not what a FPS should be prioritizing. This Xdefiant is boring as fk and very easy to spawn trap.
This game is cool but the bullet hit detection almost makes it unplayable. I have some clips saved where I put 7+ bullets into an enemy before I got a hit marker, then got killed completely around a corner. And it happens OFTEN. Also there's no custom button mapping

Still like how excited you are about a fresh and fun experience. It's a great game, and nothing draws me back to cod with having a good alternative. Especially as i played a lot of overwatch back in the day and i like the mix
But wait a bit until the other team actually shoots back and knows how to use their abilities. You will face teams with 4-6 barriers (and 120hp each) or perma wallhacks. Not that i wouldnt expect you to dominate still, but it gets a bit more challenging than this
Im playing just for that casual arcade feeling again aka NO SBMM. Lol feels so good to not be put against sweats every single game lmao. Loving this game.

Well some people hate BR and only play COD MP. I think they're targeting that audience more than COD as a whole (who with MP, WZ, DMZ, Zombies , Campaign, etc have no idea what their core gameplay is and flails on all of them - though they've been stepping up as of late)

Anyone else having trouble using the Scuf Envision controller in this game? I am seeing a bug where the fire button does not work and will fire weapons at random. This does not happen on M&K or my Xbox controller. Checking for updates on the controller in iCue and Windows made no change. No setting relating with the controller settings in game seem to make a difference either. Any help is appreciated.
The hilarious irony of COD is that they cannot stop tripping over their own feet. If they got rid of SBMM and the EBMM systems they would have far far far better player retention numbers and they would sell MORE microtransactions simply because more people would be playing. And if they lowered the cost of their microtransactions about 25-50% along with it they’d be making nearly double the revenue off the larger player base that’s more likely to buy MT’s because they LIKE the game. It’s so simple it hurts.
Honestly Isaac I haven’t been into cod since covid and an arcade fps multiplayer since bo3 days and this game has brought that back for me. It does everything better than cod. Hope to see you post more of it

Fancy firing range basically lifted straight from Titanfall... only a luxury for someone who only plays CoD, which has TERRIBLE resources for learning and practice.

I've played WZ every night since it released and since this came out I havent opened COD at all. I did NOT expect that at all and its not even intentional. Xdefiant rules, I hope it stays around for a long long time.

Yes their firing range is pretty good, but it takes a long time to load up in comparison to MWIII. You also can't load it in between games and in the lobby. Accessibility is much better on COD still.
This game makes me feel like I’m playing older call of duty again but with its own twist. Hopefully it gets even better with time I’m excited for season 1
The visual clarity in Xdefiant alone is a huge plus. COD graphics are stunning for sure but all the visual noise and clutter and fog and smoke and shadows makes it so hard to just see things properly, which is a fatal flaw in a fast-paced shooter where you need to be able to see things and register information quickly.
It’s not real comp; it’s barely in the top 10 last week on console and it’s not even charting on PC. COD’s comp is Fortnite on console and CS2 on PC, just saying (source UU’s via Engadget)

@@conor-_C video game companies do care that’s the context that I was talking about. Call of duty is not trying to compete with xDefiant, that is my point that is my only point.
If you want to talk about whether YOU should care about the games popularity or not that’s different conversation and to that point I would say it’s still kind of important when there is no off-line component of the game because if the game is not popular and not enough people are playing it then it can be as good as it wants to while you sit in the lobby waiting for players that never show up. I am an ace combat fan. You cannot find a match in ace combat even though I love the multiplayer and I would consider it good, I wish it was more popular because I would rather play that then any arena first person shooter.

I really do want to love this game. And I think the way it was developed and how it's supported is in a class of its own.... FOR MULTIPLAYER.
I just haven't enjoyed the kill, die, respawn for a while. As I have got older, and my mind craves less repetitive tasks and more challenging tasks.. I get so bored with MP and find myself enjoying the BR because every game is a different story of how I win. Sometimes its a blender win, sometimes you dominate, sometimes it's a late regain, sometimes it's an off rip regain... It's just different every game.
I do think XDefiant has rightfully earned its place in the best Arcade FPS MP games already, and hope it stays around. I just don't see it as a direct competition to COD these days (Warzone is so much bigger than MP for COD now... From a profit standpoint)
I hate skill-based matchmaking personally.. however a couple of my kids play call of duty as well and they need to go base matchmaking they get frustrated and quit immediately when hard players come into their lobbies and just kill him non-Stop. They have no fun like playing with people like I am with the game. Skill-based matchmaking is not for the good players it's for the once in a blue moon and kid players.. and for them it's absolutely necessary
This is a great game. We just need more players to play the objective. Your KD means nothing in this type of FPS. Anyone agree?
If this game also has aimbot for controllers like COD does and K&M players don't have a choice to be mixed with controller players, I'd rather it fails.
The movement is absolute stick in the mud and if you can't go prone while taking cover what's the point of a military realistic shooter if you can't do things that you would normally do in real life? I'm not even being a troll I feel like I'm super slow paced in this game
COD SBMM rewards bad players and punishes the good players..
Casual centric that leaves bots at their bot levels and punishes good players with basically ranked lobbies they didn't ask for..

How do you get the range? I dont see it. The reveal suit needs a nerf. It recharges way to fast and faster than other faction abilities. I dont get that it takes me half a mag to get a kill if they dont run away first but I am insta killed before I can react
The gun range is COD is an embarrassment. They did the BARE minimum.
Bare minimum and people are still buying their bundles for $30 after paying $70 for the game 🤦🏻♂️
I watch these reviews of this game and I can't help to think how much of a sucker ppl are for simping blindly to COD... we're missing out on so much stuff because they refuse to improve and enhance the game experience overall with COD... we deserve fking better ACTIVITION!!! Cod has a setting to turn cross-play off. Xdefiant looks fun, but it would need a BR. I can't see myself playing multiplayer all day.
My biggest issue with COD (any game) are cheaters. If they fix that, I'm happy. This will happen to xdefiant if many start playing it.
COD has alot more content.
MP arena, Big Maps, resurgence, warzone and Zombies.
MP has modes like gun game and hardcore along with way more guns and camos
The biggest problem i have
1. MP cannot continur to be $70 when there is a free altenative in xdefiant that is good
2. CoD needs to quit manipulating game play with thick SBMM and EOMM. Pubs should be primarily connection based like xdefiant and lobbies should stay tigether
3 COD needs to invest in better servers and QOL things like the shooting range. They have plenty of money ti do this and have huge profits ans just shows they dont give a crap about customers
I am just finishing camo with COD and going to give xdefiant a couple months after.
If i enjoy this game it will be real difficult to pay activision $70 for black ops.

This game has alot kf visual recoil brom the reticle literally moves off center as you shoot. They also just nerfed jump spamming cause it was too overpowered. Otherwise I agree with your points

I’ve haven’t loved CoD multiplayer and only played to level for Warzone, but this is actually fun. Every game isn’t a sweat fest and it’s just fun lol

If this game gets a BR and can use loadouts, I’d def switch over. I’m tired of COD and Warzone, but there is nothing comparable that could get me to switch lol so I still like Warzone but def tired of match making and also just a lot of other stuff with it haha
I’ve enjoyed this game but it definitely needs a lot of improving. Some abilities are too powerful and not enough counters for it. But overall it runs smooth and it’s a great alternative to CoD especially with it being free
Also one of my biggest complaints is that while there is no SBMM, I constantly am being put on teams with a bunch of bums and having to sweat my ass off just to barely win a domination game

Been playing competitive shooters since you had to do it on a LAN because the internet didn't exist, and there's a reason that SBMM was created and every popular title in the world has it in some form or another.
