Excellent Actor & Awesome Win!!! BTW... They announced he's a graduate of LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts when he was going up to accept his award, but he's also a graduate from a prestigious Ivy League university. Let's give this king all the accolades he has earned & deserves...!!! 👍 👏 💗
My daughter fell inlove with him after watching the movie . She says mom he’s so cute and adorable.. and I would love to meet him and give him a big hug lol🤗🤗
In answering the reporter's question, about why as African descendants our stories that always win awards are stories about pain, "Our pain needs to be told", cogent comment from Jharrel Jerome
He’s so adorable with his little adorable self! I really hope for continued success for him! His spirit seems so pure and genuine ❤️ definitely rooting for him, he’s beyond talented 😩
So we should just celebrate the win and ignore the real life subject matter of the performance? Have I got that right? Are you white? This sounds like a white person comment.
OMG he handled those questions really well. I didn’t know he was Hispanic and African American wow cool. He’s very intelligent and humble . I love his presence. A very respectable guy raised well. I’m so happy he won he truly deserved it. He did a phenomenal job portraying Korey Wise.

What a man.. what a man.. what a mighty good man.. he's a credit to his family and anyone who knows him, so respectful to always shout out the 5 guys too, they should never be forgotten, talking about the 5 guys amazing how they are all holding their heads up and refering to how Koreys experience was the worst .. respect 💯 From UK 🇬🇧
Congratulations and good job on theses questions and telling a story of such pain and putting yourself in his shoes when it comes to what he felt. And that story is something we will never forget. They can take something from us, but what’s inside us is something they can never take away
Well deserved but I do agree. Latinos especially afrolatinos, the black community wins when portraying prostitutes, drug addicts or dealers, slaves, etc. Its never awarded when portraying romances or action or anything of a positive note. Either way he deserved this award. Its unfortunate Asante nor any of the other cast members won.
There's definitely truth in that but don't forget Lou Gossett won playing a drill sergeant. Jaime Foxx played a music icon. There has been a few positive roles recognized.
@Pelom Pelon You are just talking with no facts to unfortunately back it up😏 there was never any DNA that proved your statement so do us a favor and quit spreading false information. Just a thought
Of course the deeper and sadder the story the more recognized it becomes through award seasons. Actors have to dig damn deep and that’s what’s rewarded. What does she think? White Chicks deserves an Oscar!? So proud of this young man. So talented.
I’m Honduran and my cousins are Dominican on their dads side, this makes me feel so good knowing that Dominicans are doing so much for their country, yet there is still people who do bad.
Let’s just be real theses white reporters. Felt guilty af and then they already made up their minds about the answers before even asking him the questions. You can tell he feels so uncomfortable and was just like um what. A lot of them was not happy with either the result or the fact that black peoples aren’t acknowledged enough and that’s not fair because I felt like in a way they kinda stole some of his joy away. But push through king. His the strongest , that’s why he was able to play one of the strongest character. I love him and his skills to pull off such a good story of a fucking injustice systems
Kametria Hester - totally agree. No merit-nonsense questions like as if he wasn’t SUPPOSE to win on if any future accolades and they go and act the fool with stupid ass questions .. smh
5 man 5 brothers I’m so proud you all are strong. God bless you all and hope god punish all this who did this to you all. I think the have to go on prison for life death for them and shame Love you all 5. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💫💫💫💫💫
Because she can and it's true like he acknowledged . But he also gave a very good response, her question still doesn't take away the fact that he won an emmy.
that essence question was amazing......im tired of black trauma movies.... when they see us was an exception though.... that was a real story not just fictional trauma
Why did he want to mention the Exonerated 5 when he's winning an Emmy for starring in a series that tells the story of the Exonerated 5??? Did he really just ask that...?? It would literally be inappropriate if he didn't mention them!
I think his performance was great but I think we need to be mindful of the need to have ADOS ACTORS PORTRAY ADOS (AMERICAN DESENDANTS OF SLAVERY) EXPERIENCE IN MEDIA.
So. He is black or Afro Latino but he is not ADOS (AMERICAN DESENDANTS OF SLAVERY) AND AS SUCH THERE ARE ASPECTS OF THE ADOS EXPERIENCE HE CANNOT UNDERSTAND THUS CANNOT CONVEY HONESTLY. NOR SHOULD HE OR ANY OTHER ACTORS THAT ARE NOT ADOS BE CHOOSEN TO PLAY ADOS WHEN OTHER CAPABLE ADOS ARE AVAILABLE.
He will win an Oscar one day!!! Remember this comment!!!!
Alex Cross 💯

Such a sweet young man. We are going to see a lot more of him and I can't wait. Great talent.

To be fair, the same can be said for other races. Awards go to the most dramatic performances regardless of the source material.
Brandon Westfall hmm not really
" You're the King now because we're all Kings." - Korey Wise Love it!
He is adorable. All the best young man! You fully deserve all the accolades!
“Why did you want to acknowledge these five men tonight?” What kind of question is that?
A stupid one. I mean, really sir?
Yea right wtf
@Pelom Pelon lies!!
